So, you're saying that Jewish people are 'disproportionately' involved in finance, entertainment, etc. Define disproportionately - what's the Jewish population of the US, and how many are involved in the industries you mention?

What percentage of the employees in these industries are Christian? Atheist? Muslim?

Because a CEO, or a dozen CEO's, with Jewish surnames really means nothing - maybe Jewish people succeed in these fields because of their own efforts, but these companies/industries have hundreds of thousands of employees.

And then they think it can only be anti-Semitism why they are criticised so much

"Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who also serves as a minister in the Defense Ministry, is pushing to begin the process for legalizing 68 illegal outposts in the West Bank in what would be one of the most dramatic expansions for the settlement movement in decades, Channel 12 News reports.

In February 2023, the government approved the legalization of nine illegal outposts, which eventually became 10, and also made arrangements that Smotrich, head of the staunchly pro-settlement Religious Zionism party, said at the time would “set in motion a broad process which will prepare the continuation of the legalization procedures in relation to the rest of the young settlements.”"

A number of off topic posts removed. Pleased stick to discussing the situation between Iran and Israel, and not the influence of Jews across the world

I tell you whats sinister, starting vague conspiratorial statements with 'Jews have...' as if they're all a singular entity.

    https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-used-radar-evading-missile-in-strike-on-iranian-s-300-near-natanz-report/

I remember hearing for years how formidable the Russian s-300 and 400 air defense system was. I think the war in Ukraine and this strike shows Russian military equipment is inferior to western military kit. Exports of Russian military equipment must have taken a big hit in the last couple of years. Also if this report is true then it's no wonder the Iranians are keen to move on.

Why? Why not the sooner the beards are overthrown in Iran the better.

Some reports now saying that the strike on the consulate killed the entire IRGC command (the guys responsible for attacks on Israel from Syria/Lebanon including Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Rahimi). Apparently they thought the consulate was safe and the last place the Israeli's would bomb. There's also a hint that Syria or some insiders there might not be 100% onside with Iran.

I can’t imagine that everyone being happy with Iran using them as canon fodder while avoiding doing it from their own territory. That goes for other proxies they’ve been using, it’s only a matter of time before this turns on them and these proxies realise they are being used.

More analysis developing from OSINT and other sources on the Iranian missile/drone attack. Looks like:

    • Around 170 drones, mostly Shaheds
    • Around 30 cruise missiles, probable to be the latest ones (2022)
    • Around 120 ballistic missiles. Generally seem to be more advanced medium range missiles.
    • The number of ballistic missiles fired could have been close to the max Iran can launch at one time due to launcher limitations (the mobile systems)
    • Up to 50% of these missiles may have failed on launch (pinch of salt, can't be validated. However if untrue, then ballistic interceptions were much higher)
    • It's possible some of these interceptions occurred outside earth's atmosphere (e.g. Israel's Arrow 2 or 3, or US Navy's SM3 anti-ballistic missile system)

A strange story doing the rounds in Germany comes to me from a friend working in the media (radio) somehow Iran military command was strongly encouraged to attack Israel by Russia who wanted war to start so as the drag the US into it. When Iranian government officials found out they went potty hence tipping off the Israel and US v Turkey. Not sure what to make of it!

If true it makes sense. It would drag attention away from Ukraine (and support), plus it would probably have the effect putting pressure on Biden during a critical election year (he would be blamed for this war), Putin is very keen for Trump to get into power.

Russia is continually growing ties with Iran and recently got several hundred missiles off them (to blast Ukrainians with)

A friend of mine (also a reporter in Germany) informed me that he had it on good authority that the US encouraged Israel to bomb the Consulate in Damascus but they didn't tipp-off anyone. Hard to believe reporters though.

Interesting views from a military analyst, including that Iran could be using Russia almost as a proxy (like Hezbollah, Hamas, etc) in a more equal relationship rather than something too one-sided.

But but but CNN/Sky/Fox etc… told everyone the Iranian attack was a complete failure 🙄

It was obvious from the Israeli response they have been given serious pause for thought over what Iran are capable of. Like i said the day after the attack happened, if they can hit a well protected military base with missiles when the Israelis are given ample warning of the attack then they can hit anywhere they like and there is little Israel can do about it.

Israel have now returned to killing innocent children instead because that's the type of cowardly bully they are. Backed 100% by the Biden whitehouse.

where do you think all their international aid goes……. its not to the people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,222 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

Its one Israeli critic agreeing with another on social media.

According to OSINT and most sources the attack didn't do much damage. It doesn't seem like Israel stopped "99%", but it was a high figure, probably 95%+

Decent analysis here (around an hour long)

In a way yes, but it depends.

One of Iran's openly stated goals is the destruction or wiping out of Israel, which has been repeated many times in many forms. It has worked with or used proxies for those ends. Houthis would be a good example, whereby Iran supplies them with weapons in exchange for them attacking and making aggressive moves on the behest of Iran. Likewise Hamas.

    Iran's doctrine is basically attack.

When it comes to Iran, Israel's goals are different, they are more defense orientated. In that end they rely on e.g. the US, Jordan (and even Saudi now) more as allies/partners (and now silent partners). The US for example said it would have nothing to do with Israel's recent attack on Iran. Not to say they aren't a "proxy" entirely, but the relationship and nature of it is different.

One Mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter etc. I'm no fan of Iran/Hamas though so don't get me wrong.

Ultimately Israel is a big reason the area is so unstable in modern times. They're supplied by the US amd to that end they're a proxy.

Little cynical to say the US had nothing to with Israel's attack on Iran when they supply the bullets and missiles.

You seem to only agree with a proxy when it suits your views.
