Yes, I would think the IPTV provider itself is more than likely the root cause. It makes sense that even the use of a VPN makes no difference.

Have you tried sideloading your IPTV app to the quest yet? 😁

I did with mine and it's great especially with the quest 3s pass through if other people are in the room.

Sure. Id be looking for them to say "no complaints / issues from anyone else" or "yeah the live streams are fecked and we're looking into it". Then move on to your device / network or wait for a fix.

If your not buying off some lad in pub there's a lot of ones with great support, swapping channel sources, rebooting servers, notifying of it etc. & you'll see if others have issues etc.

He's not far off being told to go buy enterprise networking gear here 😂

Yes there are options but it looks like it's on the users end considering other apps are being affected

Always meant to do it. I have fx explorer or similar already sideloaded so I think that means I can just download the IPTV apk and get watching. Must get it sorted before the Australian F1 👍.

I use the Xplore file manager app on the quest and on my phone to transfer the app over. You don't even need the original apk, you can extract it from the installed app itself with one tap.

It's the best file manager since the days of ES File explorer imo, even ES was buggy sometimes when sending files across.

It has an absolute power house of features, plenty of support for cloud storage, LAN Storage, supports FTP, SMB shares, the works.

Right a strange update, iptv chat not reporting any issues. This provider gave me 2 logins so 2 diff providers or something. The first one is non stop skipping and the second one is working away fine at the moment. Netflix etc appear to back to normal all but the love tv in iptv app

Internet connections elsewhere work. I'm guessing throttling is real (a good VPN seems to have solved my issue, for now)

Given the crap and restrictive nature of most ISP routers in my experience, if you're anyway IT-minded and especially if you have anything more complicated than phones, consoles and tablets in your network, I'd always suggest getting a decent standalone router/modem as a replacement.

My home network includes a PC, several laptops, phones, Alexa devices, smart bulbs and plugs, an nvidia shield, and an enterprise grade DELL server that runs my home domain, file storage, backups etc.

All of this feeds into an Asus XT8 router which is extremely easy to setup but can be as complex as you need it to be too - in my case it has DNS entries to block advertising as it comes in and additional privacy, entries for my VPN server so I can connect back into the network when away, split WiFi networks for my computer devices and my Alexa/smart devices (the latter having no access to the rest of the network) etc.. All of which is still easy enough to get running with the guides included or some googling.

On top of this is a paid decent VPN package that sits on the Shield with split tunnelling to route what's needed through it and the rest via the standard connection (which remember is also routed via alternative DNS too). This could also sit on the router instead but I'm happy enough with the current setup.

Now my setup is far from typical but it's worth looking into even without a dedicated server for anyone trying to better manage and control their network and privacy.

Should do the job but as always, Google reviews/problems too.

It looks pretty much like the Asus AX-58U I had/still have before upgrading to the XT8. (I just prefer the Asus GUI)

Have you done a speedtest directly to your firestick? I had all sorts of hassle until i stuck placed the firestick at the top of the tv rather than the usual hdmi ports behind it. You will need a hdmi extender for this but worth a shot.

Different iptv subs will need different resources. Whether netflix etc is working is very much irrelevant.

OK so I went out and picked up the Tp Link Archer AX55 and already a massive difference. No skipping so far and I haven't fully messed around with the settings yet. Also the range on the WiFi is far better. Going out the back for a smoke and you'd get no WiFi at all with the gigabox, now I Have 2 bars and decent speed aswell as mobile coverage is non existent here I use the Vodafone WiFi calling and it used to drop going out but all good now too.

Yeah speedtest direct to the firestick was around 400 each time I ran it. I have had this sub for a few years and the problems only started a few weeks ago and others with the sub I know haven't got the issue. I posted an update it all appears to be fine now :)

Thanks for this. I checked it and i still had 25% of space. Deleted anything unused, now 50% free but to no avail. Haven't had much time to mess around with it the last few weeks, We've a 3 month old but thanks to everyone offering help.

Still the same situation. Buffering every 30 seconds on iptv smarters app on lg tv using virgin broadband.

Wiring fine on the windows laptop using the same app and wifi.

Might try another app and also borrow a firestick to see if there's a difference.

    got the chromecast

it was a bit finiky to set up and off and running anyhow.

Then vodafone sent me a new router (well from 2018) but in a new box. A gigabyte box to replace the hg295.

dont think i will bother though as both pieces are old at this stage

I know nothing about Apple TV but a friend has one. Are there any apps like Tivimate or Smarters that run on an Apple TV?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,416 ✭✭✭Homer

Loads! SupaTV, Purple player, smarters lite, tivimax etc

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 6,037 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

your limited on other apps as you cannot sideload any apps and the apple store is limited and is dearer when buying apps as they charge 30 percent on for themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,416 ✭✭✭Homer

All the apps I mentioned are free and run iptv no issues? What’s what the previous poster asked for?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 6,037 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

yes but i just informed them of the difference of apple tv against android

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,249 ✭✭✭SteM

Thanks, I only use Android boxes but he has an Apple TV box and wants to try out iptv before he invests in a new box.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 6,037 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

There are some real chancers out there installing firesticks. Neighbour got hers last year and the installer is going to turn hers off after a year if she doesn't pay €50. He must have some serious superpowers in Templemore, because he's away off to join the guards.

Took a bit of trial and error but have to say stremio is fantastic. The old ways are still the best, torrenting is so much smoother.

It's just hard to get family members heads around the idea that it isn't sky! Rebooting every few days is just a step too far for them.

I see lots of people aren't that impressed with Sky's streaming service. Doesn't seem great for €80 or so a month.

Sky's streaming service is 25 euros a month, FWIW.

I looked at getting it, but with my current setup it doesn't give me much more than what I currently have. Just need to figure out my CNN woes.

You've to add Sports, Sports Extra and movies, brings it up to €80 or so. Still no Apple, Paramount or Disney AFAIK, nor new release movies. Their catch up service seems buggy enough for a multi billion massive industry leading company.
