Don’t know much about Moloney at 9 but he must be some player to keep Rhys O’Donnell out of the team

  • Registered Users Posts: 342 ✭✭Hey_Ho_Lets_Go_3

O'Donnell has been hyped for years out of Ulster, if he was that good, he'd be playing for Ulster with his former coach in there.

Moloney is a surprise inclusion, outside of his goal kicking he is fairly average, although with a UCD coach on the panel it helps. O’Callaghan and Young Munster and O’Reilly at Tarf would be better players in my opinion. Although maybe some players didn’t wish to be nominated by their coaches or able to commit to the training etc. Andy Marks from Lansdowne has been one of the standout players all season.

Still a very impressive squad and I am sure a lot of people would feel others maybe should be included, which shows the depth and quality in the AIL.

Nenagh will go 10 or 11 points clear at top of 2a of they win

Ballymena are in relegation playoff battle. In 7th level on pointd with 8th and 9th

Galwegians 3rd and if they win they go into 2nd 3 ahead of enniscorthy. A win for bangor puts then out of relegation playoff spot

Ulster senior cup final will be between Instonians and Queens after both recorded narrow 21-22 wins over Armagh and Banbridge respectively.

Gerry Thornley previewing the AIL again in today's Irish Times. Fair play must be the 4th or 5th in succession. Great to see.

Meanwhile IRFU seem to have given up on previewing the AIL - They have one sentence for each of the divisions this week. Disappointing - If they can't be bothered why do they expect other media to take an interest.

    UCC 26

    St. Mary's College 31

Looked like Mary's were going to run away with it, in the second half, but UCC pulled them back.

Mary's were down to 13 (two yellows) by the end and held up a UCC attempt under the posts, 5 minutes to go.

UCC scored on the last play, missed conversion

    Important LBP for UCC

Had long post written up summarising where divisions are now with 2 rounds to go but lost it ...

Will be some huge games next week. Lot clearer now and next weekend could see automatic promotion spots confirmed in a few more divisions

Have Nenagh officially won 2A or is it based on next weekends result?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,769 ✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Need a point technically. Barnhall are 10 points behind with a points difference of 112 while nenaghs is 318. So barnhall would have to beat nenagh by 50+ then win big in final round while nenagh lost big. Which is very unlikely to happen.

Delighted for Nenagh, great club. Club rugby in Tipp in general is in an excellent place. 3 teams in the AIL. Nenagh with one foot in 1B and Cashel in the play-off places. Mad to think back to 20 years ago

    Trinity are in big trouble.

Would need two wins and a shannon loss to be sure. There are other scenarios but still.

It is. And some of the others have been going well in junior rugby. Kilfeacle won an all ireland junior cup in last few years. Others doing ok in league.

You clearly haven’t watched Moloney play and are being ignorant or you’re clueless and know nothing about rugby. He’s by far the best scrum half in the AIL, his box kicks are international standard and he can kick perfectly off both feet. He’s also the top point scorer in the AIL and for me the best player. He was also called up to Leinster v Bath the following week and played well which proves your opinion is ridiculous

looks like trinity are definitely down with Shannon's win.

Still all to play for outside that. Very interesting last weekend.

Congrats Ormond on the Nenagh league win, was inevitable towards end, but great to get it done. Hope you had a good night.
