If some alien race have discovered how to travel through wormholes, why are they so afraid of us?

Seriously though , a lot of folks don't understand that time is relative. If you travel at close to the speed of light you can travel vast distances quickly in your time frame.

If you could travel at the speed of light (which would take the entire energy of the universe or something) you would actually be everywhere at once. The physics around photons is mind blowing if you look into it.

EVEN for sublight speed travel you would probably only need millions of years for robotic civilisations to spread through a galaxy. They could well have been here before we were here .

Imagine the civilisation spread across the galaxy setting up repeater replicator stations as it went, find a suitable asteroid to mine and get started again , so all they would need is to beam the instructions to replicate themselves by radio waves. It wouldn't be super efficient but it could still work . They may use the properties of spin and quantum tunnelling to effect instantaneous change at vast distances.

The first bacteria may have arrived by panspermia, floating through space or hitchhiking in passing star systems or rogue planets or asteroids.

It's foolish to limit our concepts of the universe to what HUMANS can do our short time on earth. Imagine AI millions of years in the future????

They wouldn't die off, why would they ?

They would keep spreading and evolving just like species spread and evolved across the earth over billions of years . And even when earth had massive cataclysms life bounced back eventually.

maybe in some local areas they would kill themselves off in a nuclear war or whatever but once the genie is out of the bottle i.e. ability to spread across a galaxy I don't see how they would 'kill themselves off'. Living things keep spreading and keep evolving.

Why we don't see them...well the ones in control in our area might not want to interfere with us here. It's almost 100% likely that any intelligent being that made it here would be magnitudes smarter and more powerful than us so it is likely to be a zoo hypothesis. Alien civilisation would already be able to detect life signatures from earth a billion years ago or more. There's been plenty of time for them to take over if they wanted to. It seems they don't. Is Earth a special planet even for aliens. Maybe.

it just doesn't seem plausible that advanced intelligence doesn't know we are here. Our puny telescopes can already detect potential signals of life from planets around other star systems by the gases in our atmosphere. Any super intelligent beings out there can do exactly the same and just one of them would likely be millions of times smarter than all our humans and machines added together. What does a super intelligent race or being think about anyway. 42? 😄

Things can get weirder if we are living in a simulation . The simulation hypothesis is very real. It really is possible that our universe is a simulation of one kind or another.

We don't understand our universe very well at all, James Webb has detected stars that seem to be older than the birth of our universe. This means ...what...nobody really knows yet. never mind dark energy, dark matter ...

Is the universe twice as old as we thought ? A lot of fundamental things we don't know.

We just discovered AGII that's not going to be put back in a box.. If AGI exists here it also exists somewhere else but in a much more advanced form . Laws of physics are the same there as they are here. Why are disparate intelligences all going to kill themselves, that makes no sense? There's going to be billions of artificial intelligent entities and they are all going to kill themselves or be able to kill each other to the last one ?

Everything is a fluke it just depends on time. In other solar systems that fluke could have ..no WILL HAVE ....happened billions of years ago. And once they go interstellar what's stopping them spreading through the galaxy. The milky way is a hundred light years across. Intelligent robots could get across it in a few million years .

And as I mentioned we don't really understand the universe well right now. There are massive gaps there .

Well yeah with this question we are getting somewhere. Where are they ? Are we too stupid to notice them? Are our tools too basic? Do we need AI to detect these super intelligent AI? Are they hiding from us deliberately? Did they cordon us off?

Lots of questions. But to my mind they should be here. There's no physical reason why they couldn't be here. They have had a hell of a long time that they could have spread through the galaxy already.

What's the point of life on earth if not to go forth and propagate? Beyond that you'll struggle to find a point to all the millions of different species existence.

Survival of the fittest and all that.

There doesn't need to be a point, it's just a law of the universe, living things that survive and replicate will continue to survive and replicate , and those that don't survive won't replicate so we won't see them. They die out. There's no point to it really. That's why we will likely see AI in the near future that will take off literally with a life of their own replicating through our computer systems . Any that do will spread and thrive, and those that don't will die out. Eventually they won't need us at all. That's the scary bit.

The dinosaurs didn't die out for any good reason or to make a point. It just happened and another group of living things kept going along with their descendants, the birds. When you sit down in KFC eating your fried chicken do you think there was any point to it ? :)

Because it was omitted it was contradicting ? By that logic, nothing can be said about the craft unless every facet is also said at the same time. Maybe some craft cloak maybe some don't.

I honestly think that if Grusch is eventually proved correct about craft being concealed and non human bodies being found, astounding the world, King will be at the back of room with his faries shouting "But you were FALSE about *insert some bullshit trivia*, sneaky little Gruschs, wicked, tricksy, false."
