He has spent all his political life pushing the stereotype Russian "He man " narrative. He is the ideal model male for Russians to emulate. For it to emerge that he was in fact the complete opposite, was gay, with a proclivity for children would damage him, for sure, The only thing that would save him is his propaganda team would instantly go into overdrive, denying it and labelling it as western false propaganda, as they do with everything. Then there's his almost total control of the media, and the physical control of people with the GRU / FSB etc. So talking about it publicly would not happen. Privately, it would be different, and especially for but not only his enemies, but ordinary people too, if only amongst themselves. His reputation would be tarnished, and especially in the republics with large Islamic populations, where being gay, let alone LGBTQ is frowned upon, and that's putting it mildly. And as you mention, throughout history, powerful men / women have managed their sexual peccadillos while flying in the face pf conventional morals. Putin would indeed be one of those, and if what is being said about Prigozhin's hold over Putin being down to intimate knowledge and proof about Putin's sexual activities, that shows just how much Putin fears it going public. Its one thing for the Kremlin to pass off claims of Putin being Gay / Pedophile as western propaganda, but quite another if Prigozhin were to start claiming the same thing. That would mean the end of Putin.

That's what I said, they are still pretty powerful in Russia, I would not underestimate their power there, and especially if Putin is their man in the Kremlin. From a liaison officer between the KGB and the Stasi secret police, it was quite a jump to become the president of Russia. Unless he was selected by the KGB / FSB for the position, and he remains under their control? As it is, there's not too much information available as to how the replacement for Yeltsin was selected....there does not seem to be any other serious candidates. Which, when it comes to Russian elections, is par for the course.

I've noticed Kyiv is the only place Ukraine claim they ever shoot down hypersonic missiles. No coincidence that's where the patriot system is. The West need to send more to cover places like Odessa.
