Three teams level on 2 points each so it would seem that scoring difference applies. If so we're behind Tipp.

Second best in the second half today but I wouldn't be reading much into matches on January 15th.

Shame we missed out on the final but more than likely prob play a few challenge games before the Dublin game in 3 weeks time

Lots of players still to come back

He went ballistic after losing to Clare last year, they turned it around in the league but to what cost?

Plenty of people were questioning, Limerick after a woeful league were they only managed to beat Offaly. Come championship, nobody beat them making them the first team to play 7 championship games in one year without defeat.

It doesn't matter a jot what happens in January, even if you prove to be right later in the year.

"It doesn't matter a jot what happens in January" - How many all Irelands have Limerick won since 1959? and Clare? Keep ignoring the fundamental flaws in Waterford and keep getting the same result.

Probably in the minority here. I thought it an enjoyable game. Few things could have been better, few could have been worse. Looking forward to an outing to Portlaoise now. (I know Dublin are next but won't be able to make that one)

How many did either win in January? Did you not read what I said about Limericks league v championship last year?

Antrim beat Kilkenny in the Walsh Cup in 2008 and we know how that ended, which is always what I remember whenever tempted to read too much into January.

For the love of god it’s the Munster league it’s a training session and the national league for us well for some of the games will be time for more experimenting. The season starts in the Munster Championship. I believe limerick lost to cork today are we supposed to take anything at all from that ?

Wexford also lost too Laois last weekend in the Walsh Cup

Todays game was really 'Winter hurling' but we move on and get ready for Dublin in 3 weeks (prob be Fraher Field).

We maybe some what fortunate the way our League fixtures panned out, first 3 games against the so called 'weaker teams in the group' and our last 2 games against 'Tipp' and 'Kilkenny'. Saying that Dublin have no fear of us and we havent beaten them since 2017, looking forward too next month

Thought it was a good game. I love Leavey but the 'Brick Flick' obsession he has is unhealthy. Its slowing up the whole show. A handpass is much quicker and better the majority of the time. He's also quiet slow. Some good passing and some good scores but when Clare turned up the physicality Waterford went missing abit I thought.

Limerick and Waterford's national league and championship campaigns of 2022 tells you all you need to know about reading into results this time of year.

just here for the comments to read about our year being written off already. Gas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 394 ✭✭carter10

Waterford will fail again this year, for the reasons outlined above, true in January as it is in July, but go ahead continue to ignore the failings that have lead to this failure year after year.

You make PTH2009 look like Vincent Hogan with the quality of your posts

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,839 ✭✭✭deisedude

Some of the lads starting at the weekend mightnt even make the final panel! Overboard in the extreme to write us off on that.

We probably won't win the All Ireland but you don't need to be mystic Meg to make that observation

So what you are saying is that this group of players are just not up to it and have no business playing inter county…..they need to go back to u10/12 type basic skills camps/training etc…..whereas the Clare, cork limericks etc are flawless in their ball handling stick work etc.

The CB taking there time sorting out the 'home venue'

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,004 ✭✭✭PeggyShippen

God only knows what's happening. Its obvious from here that Thurles won't get the Two home games.. Munster council will want them to move for one ..Cork id say for the Limerick game

Maybe Limerick in Thurles and then Clare in Cork or Limerick. The way its working out is our away games are 'Cork' and 'Thurles'

It works for the Soccer Supporters club for away trips and no reason why the County Board/club deise can't run a few buses leaving the City up to Dungarvan for the league games. €10 a head etc

Christ the Ballygunner youtube video was some cringe rubbish..

It's hard not to look at the Wexford event last night and not feel envious. They delivered the floodlights project on time and on budget. Then to mark them they got the local schools playing in a match, a fireworks display for families and managed to sell out a Walsh cup game. Compare that to what we got from our county board two weeks ago.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,728 ✭✭✭lertsnim

They didn't bother their hole doing it for people going from the west of the county to Walsh Park so don't see why they'd start now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,178 ✭✭✭seananigans

htagreed, COBO are useless, lots of people would make the trips if they made it a bit easier, Munster had a home game in aviva recently, what did they do ? ran buses through every town and village in munster, 10er return, made sure the fans were there and were heard

instead of relying on haphazard lads doing it for the love of the game, have some plan in place, every game could be a home game if we had home support

Waterford ladies football team played another Munster county team in a Leinster venue today. Know it wasn't a Munster GAA organised event. But by all accounts it seems that life went on. Funny that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,228 ✭✭✭Mastermcgrath

we know from 2018 the co board have no say in what home venues they have. Either that or have the backbone of a chicken

it would probably make too much sense to suggest Nolan Park

  • Registered Users Posts: 298 ✭✭waterfordgirl

    Venues confirmed for league games

  • Registered Users Posts: 89 ✭✭Relhcstirt

Playing Kilkenny at home in Nolan Park!! Good practice for playing our championship home games there also.

Won’t happen unfortunately. It’s a parochial thing Munster council won’t have games played outside the province.
