Only SOME of the towns with similar issues to Rathkeale !

Guards walking the streets with guns are a joke. I’m sure they are being laughed at. They need to have their finances checked and if they cannot prove legitimate income take everything off them.

The majority just got fooled by the media narrative that Michael D is a great little fellow. Then when you asked them why he was so great? they had no answer.

they weren't fooled or anything else, they just didn't want casey or his like.

higgens is actually a good president and while i didn't vote for him personally i can't fault him for the great work he has done.

no just a grown up who holds individuals responsible and accountable for their actions and treat individuals based on how they behave to me.

rather then mistreating whole groups of people on the actions of some.

i would have no more of an issue with travelers beside me then any other as long as they are decent people and don't cause me any problems.

chances are very high that they are already at that exact thing.

you just aren't always going to know about it.

The stuff in Rathkeale is going on for years. If they were doing it in a significant way there still would not be open showing of wealth by those who have never worked.

plenty of travelers who are decent and well behaved.

What are you going on about here? Of course there is heinous crimes committed across the whole of society and it is rightly condemned by all right thinking citizens.

However the problem here is that within a certain group of society their is a much higher proportion of crime commited as a percentage of that population.

Now I have to say that I find some of the remarks against travellers disturbing on this site.

But people who stick there heads in the sand and pretend their isn't a problem who try and compare to crimes in the settled community are being disingenuous and not actually helping anyone.

The Travelling community do have their own culture, unfortunately that culture means many are brought up differently than the settled community, young boys are brought up to be hard, and taught how to fight at an early age, and unfortunately crime is also a large part of their upbringing. These realities need to be recognised by those who try and deflect any criticism of the problems within the Travelling community.

Thats not to say that all travellers should be tarred with the same brush, ive lived next to travellers and never had any issues with them, however I have also had negative experiences with travellers in my past as well.

Many people will always have a negative opinion of the travelling community because of this, and those who try to pretend their isn't a problem will not change this fact.
