Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

@andrew1977 just got my cash back now, if you haven’t received yours maybe raise the issue on chat and you should get sorted. I had screenshots of most recently used stores from The Revolut app which I forwarded.

Looks like the Cashback amount is now 2% instead of 3%

It says "Up to 3%" now, but I can't find anywhere that is doing more than 2% at the moment.

Got a few Euros off here and there but nobody was ever going to be a millionaire on the back of this. A bit like the 10c PTSB give for card transactions up to a €5 a month. I look at these small cashback amounts as a contribution towards banking fees or online booking charges.

AMZ now 2%, title needs to be updated

Moroil (home heating oil I guess) are listed. Decent cash back there (assuming their prices are competitive)

Bought something in Currys, but in Shop - shop assistant says I would get cashback if I paid via revolut - so I did - but it didnt register for cash back in the app - is this eligable if not done online anyone know? Who would I chase this up with if it was?

Reasonably big purchase so would be nice to get the credit if I was due....

    “Roll it back”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭amber2

@ozmo did u click on shop with cashback with Currys link in app before paying. That activates the cashback Should work then. If you did that and it didn’t work contact them via chat.

Fairly poor from revolut that all these shops are leaving already. Very disappointed to lose Dunnes already.

  • Moderators Posts: 12,379 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

Shops probably gave a quota against what could be claimed, and claimed it was. But yeah, I guess I check revolut these days to see if there's cash back, Vs not using it at all before. That'll die off though

My first instinct about this cashback offer was that Revolut were attempting to gain some of Paypals business as the 3% is similar to Paypals merchant fees, though they can can vary a bit.

I wonder now if some companies are fine tuning their cashback offers to match their Paypal fees and those companies that didn't get much payment through Paypal are pulling out of cashback altogether?

The bigger retailers seem to have left quickly so perhaps the deal expired when a predetermined figure was met. Also it seemed to have a dry run feel to it hardly a promo that was launched in a blaze of publicity. The option appeared on people's log in screen randomly and went from view again.

Your cashback via the store mini app will depend on your account.

2% for standard, plus, 2.5% for premium, 3% for metal and up to 5% on selected shops for Ultra.

At least that is my understanding, but I'm open to correction.

  • Registered Users Posts: 540 ✭✭✭yoshimitsu

I think you're right. I'm on premium and get 2.5% on most merchants listed (tried 7-8 of the popular ones like amazon, woodies, nike, myprotein).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,231 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

It looks like what happens when you click on the link to go to the shop is that Revolut's system will provide cashback on the next charge from the store independent of which device you complete the transaction.

I wanted to buy a last-minute thing from Amazon Italy, so I opened the Revolut App - clicked the tracking link in the store mini app and it opened Amazon.co.uk on the mobile device.

Then I went to the laptop and completed the transaction on a web browser and voila within seconds of Amazon Italy charging me cashback came.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,630 ✭✭✭OmegaGene

thats correct and it seems to stay live for the rest of the day, i used amazon multiple times a day having activated the link that morning

It works with lots of brick-and-mortar stores also; click the link and then pay in-store shortly afterwards with your Revolut physical card and cashback comes in.

Does it work with curve gbit when you go through link, topup your card then switch cards through curve? As it looks like a new transaction is made when using curve gbit right?

Has anyone been able to successfully use this with Argos in-store?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 235 ✭✭deadimmortal

Amazon seems to have been removed from this now. I no longer see it listed as a participating shop.

  • Registered Users Posts: 44 Crescent

    Yep, Amazon is gone 😕

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 593 ✭✭✭ECookie13

It was good while it lasted! After they dropped it to 2% it was only a matter of weeks tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,843 ✭✭✭Buffman

Yep, RIP Amazon cashback, the Christmas period cashback 'bill' of presumably millions must have landed on someone's desk last week.

    Gone for me too.

I know someone who has the metal plan and their 3% discount for Amazon is still showing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,630 ✭✭✭OmegaGene

Maybe they have done it this way to get people onto the metal plan

I'm on the metal plan, Amazon is no longer available for me.

Seems to be very touch and go for me. It worked fine with Amazon when that was on there, that popped up as cashback immediately, and an order on Mountain Warehouse that gave the cashback as soon as payment was taken, which was as soon as I hit the complete order button.

Had a biggish order on Lego shop that didn't track at the start of December, sent them off a message on chat about it today and got the whole Did you start in the revolut shops app, get redirected to the chosen store, and complete the purchase within the same browser or app within 30 minutes using a Revolut Payment card. Yes to all the above. And then they just said our records indicate you have not started your journey from the shops mini app.

The only think I can think of is that where payment isn't taken immediately, that it is pending until the shop actually process the order or confirms it, that it times out or something? Was getting something in Expert Electrical today and that is only showing as pending until the merchant claims it and no clickthroughs or pending or anything showing in the cashback section.

It's only like 6 or six euro in each place but it'd be nicer to have it in my account than their one :D

I used the Amazon 3% on the 2nd Jan, but edited the url to Amazon.de (as this normally worked for tracking) from the default .co.uk

It seemed that before they had a querystring value to pass the tracking id, but this time there was no querystring value after the .co.uk so it might have been tracked using cookies.

Anyway, I found that the cashback (which is normally instant) didn't come through this time after completing the order on Amazon.de (unlike a previous purchase I made a few weeks earlier that did instant cashback), so I'm guessing the tracking id was tied to the .co.uk

Anyone found similar issue when they made a purchase on amazon.de? Were you able to claim it back via chat support?

I’ve had nothing but issues with the cash back. I bought a good few bits on Screwfix, Amazon and IKEA and didn’t get cash back. When I opened a case with Revolut I nearly lost the will to live. They wanted receipts, purchase dates, itemised list of things bought and then said that I hadn’t activated the cash back on the app ( I had ) I told them after a few hours that it doesn’t matter and next morning there was 33 cent credited to my account. Not a great scheme imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,876 ✭✭✭ozmo

Do you have to pay *on line* through the revolut app or is it all purchases from aproved shops - I was using it for Amazon ok where it worked ok.

But bought a TV in December sales from Currys using revolut card - but instore - wasnt thinking or expecting to get a cashback but after I paid, the Cashier said to make sure to watch out for a decent cashback due to me... never got the cashback - should I follow it up?

If you activated the cash back on app before you paid you would have got the cash back, if not you won’t get it

Officially it's only for online purchases made via the Revolt app.

In store purchases (after the offer is activated in the app first) have been working, at least with some retailers, but if it doesn't work for you, you have no comeback.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 593 ✭✭✭ECookie13

    This is the correct answer.

It's online only. And if you get retroactively claim, they ask for a TON of proof that it's an online purchase. Not worth the hassle for a couple euros.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,231 ✭✭✭Yggr of Asgard

All purchases that I made via the Revolut Shopping Mini App (on either iPhone or Mac) have tracked perfectly for me and were paid within minutes of the card being charged by the merchant.

For a while even changing the amazon domain from co.uk to .de worked but that stopped a few days before they removed Amazon totally.

Anyone else notice Amazon isn't on the cash back system anymore? Used it only a few days ago, tried yesterday to use it but it's not there in the revolut shops anymore
