If you let Munster tell the story, then you'd think Murphy has it out for them. Let them off there.

He’s a disaster of a ref. Loves making weird calls in big spots.

The off the feet for munster was the perfect example of it. I bet you that you could go back and find 20 of those in this game alone before that. He calls it there. He just wants the attention.

And then he invents mitigation for a stonewall red. Ridiculous.

    😂

There is some absolute scutter posted on here sometimes. It doesn’t matter who the ref is, direct contact with the shoulder to the head is a red card.

    There is no ambiguity.

I guess some people just enjoy being contrary.

Nothing wrong with Vermuelen pinning down Barron on the ground. Had him around the collar.

But before that there was definite contact with the face and maybe around the eyes. Thought the TMO should have looked closer.

Murphy might get too much criticism at times (he shouldn’t be reffing tonight anyway, ridiculously poor by the league) but that was a stonewall red.

Look, Fekitoa shaped low. He then moved a little higher to get man and ball and prevent the offload. He made every effort to mark the guy with a legal tackle all the way and it all took place in fractions of a second. You'd swear that the tackled fella was a frozen in suspended animation, he isn't.

Mitigation justified, yellow card. End of.

    Completely irrelevant waffle.

Shoulder directly to the head of an upright player. Red card, straightforward call.

    This isn't correct though.

The ref can issue a yellow if there is low force or any other of a number of mitigating factors.

Frank has not enamored anybody. And all he does is break any game momentum no matter the game.

    There were no mitigating factors.

Shoulder directly to the head of an upright player.

One of the most straightforward calls you’ll see. It’s not complicated.

Nah. You didn't know the rule until 30 seconds ago so apparently it is complicated. I'd have given red btw.

    Feel awful for Luke Marshall.

Injuries have ruined his career which should have been an excellent one.

Munster's lineout and ruck protection needs serious work.

Another fluffed throw/lift then Sutherland poaches their ball twice in 90 seconds.

Hume with a lovely handoff on Kilcoyne. Of all people...

That is ridiculously harsh on Jordi Murphy there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,703 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Brainless from Scannell.

Murphy even warned him not to do it right before.

Frank Murphy is an embarrassment to the league. Doesn’t favour any team just ridiculously bad.

2 bad calls from Murphy there.

Ulster getting a bit of a doing here in terms of the last few penalties and that yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,017 ✭✭✭clsmooth

Hmm seemed a harsh yellow for Ulster there. Especially considering Fekitoa got the same punishment for his high shot. Would have thought that marching Ulster back another 10m would have been appropriate there

That yellow was a poor call. Why didn’t Niall Scannell not also get a yellow for slapping the ball out of scrum half’s hands when he was clearly warned not to? Inconsistency is the frustrating part.

Moore had to stay out there

Ryle Nugent really talking Zebo up there. Am I missing something? X factor was mentioned. Was a poor enough pass for the try. Thought the Crowley pass to Zebo was lovely however.

Hugh Cahill really has a bee in his bonnet over Fekitoa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,388 ✭✭✭Locke_Lamora

How is that offside from the knock on not a yellow? Deliberate and in their own 22.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,703 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Sutherland with his third poach of the half. Munster haven't come to grips with him at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 569 ✭✭✭CptMonkey

No way was that in from the side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,767 ✭✭✭RichieRich_89

What a terrible kick. They could have been 5m out instead of 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,490 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Ah, would you use the ball Ulster. Just asking for that to be turned over.

Great defensive. Need to get back down and score.
