Again I never said my view point is the only valid one and said the opposite that our votes are equal. The constitution stands and if you don't like it and want something else you would need to move. Your choice but screaming about social services and what they pay for means nothing. You want to live by different rules but the constitution is there stopping what you want.

Again want to say what percentage of your income is taxed? You proved yourself ignorant of what tax % you pay. You were wrong that is no way my fault. Not sure where I said bad people so I think you made that up. It is no way my fault you are ignorant as you have made the choice not to look up taxes nor our constitution so it is wilful.

Sounds like something a shill for big-pharma would say, I've got a tincture of turmeric in my pantry that will sort you out.

If you don't tell him he is right then he will keep repeating his irrelevant nonsense and kill the thread. Best just to roll your eyes and move on.

Alcohol, same reason (ok, maybe without the bets)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I worked in this one and I don't think too many are laughing too hard. There are too many middlemen, if you sign up with sky broadband, they are only reselling BT who are in turn using Telecom Eireann's network. The likes of Sky are only a buffer between british telecom and the pesky broadband customers who call up complaining and don't pay their bill, they probably make less than 10e per customer per month doing this. BT might be having a bit of a laugh alright but Telecom Eireann has to keep the network alive although a lot of that is done by KN network services

I just checked a price for going a regular journey just under 7.5 kilometers, pre booked for 2 passengers.

16.40-23.60 euros according to the fare estimator gizmo on the transport for Ireland site.

A 43.9% difference in the lower and higher estimated fare values which is laughable, might as well be picking numbers out of their arseholes.

I gave them the eircode of my location for pickup and the destination yet they give a ‘blahhh could be anything’ answer.

Always thought the pre-booking charge is an absolute scam too. You’d rather a taxi drive scouting around burning diesel or petrol looking for a fare, or parked up, with the only inconvenience an individual having to take a booking, via app or phone a 45 second job..

If a scumbag runs me over or dents my car, 9 in 10 cases they didn't have insurance.

If somebody insured does, they will pay out of pocket, because they're blackmailed to by the insurance industry.

And in the South - for the 33% of the population with Medical Cards or an LTI book.

Once the higher price is not above the legal maximum then all is good. Competition kicks in, and you can choose whichever you want. What would be a disgrace is if traders were organising a price fixing cartel.

The charity industry in Ireland, probably laughs more at the gullible public who give them money hand over fist tbf.

No interest in stopping the cycle, sure they'd be out of business.

    Tesla.

In 2016 one of their cars was going to self drive from one coast of the US to the other. It's now approaching 2023.

Then: Tesla: We’ll Have Full Self-Driving by 2020. Robo-Taxis, Too. ...Musk Says ‘Full Self-Driving’ May Be ‘Worth’ $100,000 - because of course your car will be off pimping itself as a ride for hire while you are sleeping, or while you are at work, so it will actually be making money for you so you should grab one now while they are still so cheap. It's now approaching 2023.

Every TESLA made has all the hardware for full self driving built in, so when the software arrives, every TESLA made will be able to have it - but please don't ask any awkward questions about the new processor. It's now approaching 2023.

But nobody is buying Teslas expecting them to be self driving?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,616 ✭✭✭maninasia

How can you choose between competitors if they won't give you a clear fare price in advance?

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,535 ✭✭✭✭AndrewJRenko

Yeah, they’re just like all those doctors and nurses that have no interest in stopping the cycle of people getting sick, the utter barstewards.

    If you say so.

“It’s financially insane to buy anything other than a Tesla,” Musk said. “It’ll be like owning a horse in three years.”

Tesla forecasted the robo-taxis would last 11 years, drive 1 million miles and make $30,000 gross profit per car annually.

That must have been because Elon Crook didn't think anyone would belive him and buy any Teslas, or shares in the company...

Elon Musk spearheaded a $2.7 billion capital raise at Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) based on the claim that the company will have 1 million robo-taxis on the road by 2020.

Must be just sheer coincidence that the Tesla share price sky rocketed in 2019 after his announcements and got just over the line so he would qualify for the biggest CEO bonus in history.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is close to securing the second tranche of his $55 billion bonus package following the company’s astronomical share price rise, which if reached, will see him to gain an extra $2.1 billion through a newly released 1.69 billion stock options...Musk's $55 billion compensation package is the largest such performance-related pay deal ever agreed between a CEO and a board.

When did Tesla's valuation have to be over $100 billion for him to qualify for the first big Bonus? Why end of May 2019. When did Crook announce the FSD money making robo taxi by the end of the year BS, why April 2019. Pure coincidence of course, he wasn't deliberately lying to get the share price to climb so he could collect that fat bonus, oh no, pure coincidence.

Way to go to miss the point.

Google 'Irish charity' and 'scandal', plenty of food for thought for you.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,726 ✭✭✭✭dxhound2005

The post I answered was very clear. Low quote €16.40, high quote €23.60, a difference of 43.9%. In your case you will just have to choose from the unclear prices you get.

To directly answer the question, it has to be the gambling industry.

It's their objective to take your money, and they don't give anything in return (funny tweets aside), they just facilitate your loss*.

They're eveywhere too. All over sport (ad-breaks, jersey sponsors, ad breaks, pitch boards, ad breaks) And on laughing, I've seen Jeff Stelling promoting SkyBet during ad breaks for The Office.

Helps that they've pretty much got free reign to do whatever they want in Ireland too. Regulation non-existent.

Insurance industry and the legal profession no question

I've been away years and am astonished at the number of betting shops and now casinos over the length and breadth of Ireland. That doesn't even cover online gambling obviously. Bit of a shocker and I feel really bad for the gambling addicts out there, no escape.

Besides, they aren't even proper casinos and entertainment venues like you might see in Las Vegas or Macau.

The ‘downloadables’ industry. People are buying journals for €15+ to print out themselves at home or use on tablets.

The only cost for the seller is the time designing it and taking two minutes to email it on (but there’s probably automated software available for that). Maybe time for marketing to start with but once you’re doing well on Etsy, you’ll show up high in the search results anyway.
