There are a few things on on Friday night for Culture Night https://culturenight.ie/location/sligo/

Looking forward to my first Culture Night in Sligo, I've mostly been to it in Dublin and once in Letterkenny (though that was accidental 😄)

I've posted this in the pets forum, too, but just in case this gets a different audience... Does anyone know of any vets in the NW that would have CT facilities, or is Galway the only option? (I'm going to post this in the other counties' forums, too, hope that's ok).

    Thanks.

Thanks Andy - I thought they "only" had ultrasound and x-ray, nor a CT scanner?

ah right sorry if i have provided mis-information. A quick phone call to them should give you the answer. i just see 'imaging' and thought it might include CT scan.

    Good luck

A shame to see that Sweet Beat will be closing on Bridge Street at the end of the month. They will remain in Strandhill though. Having said that, I haven't been to Sweet Beat for a couple of years now.

Hi all, happy 31st December 2022!

Does anyone know whether Argos will be open on Monday, please?

To be clear, I'm not speculating on whether they'll be closing for good, I'm just wondering what their bank hols opening hours (if any) were... I couldn't find anything on their website, or on the web in general.

Hello all - difficult to know which category to post this in as its about people re-locating to Sligo to live in work but it was on last night on TG4 .. so does it belong in the Sligo category or the TV category of Boards??? - in any case here is the programme on TG4 player , its in Irish but with English Subtitles, its available to view worldwide and its up on the player for an unlimited time.

Some of you may have heard of Niamh, who has relocated to Sligo as she worked on Boards.ie website for the past few years !

    enjoy:

As there's been a recent flurry of various Councillors lobbying for issues such as educational programmes to raise awareness of the hazards of dog poo, calls for funding to construct passing bays, hopes for an additional pedestrian crossing, addressing a "problematic stretch of road", dangerous roundabouts, traffic calming measures etc.

I was wondering, are there local elections coming soon? I love a good local election.

Hi guys, any tips for someone doing an alterations service in Sligo Town or out Ballisodare, Ballygawley, Collooney, Ballintogher directions? Need the sleeves of a blazer taken up. Thank!

Try the dry cleaners, they usually have a list of names and sometimes they can do it in-house. Mullaneys and Moffitts might have some names, too.

There used to be a Polish lady many moons ago in the mezzanine in Quayside, but she's been gone a long time - not sure if she relocated. I also seem to remember an alteration/seamstress type of place in the "lane" beside the Garda station (the one that heads towards St Anne's church, the big Dunnes and Aldi), but I couldn't be 100%.

Sometimes you can also find notices in the supermarkets' noticeboards.

Thanks @New Home ! I've no doubt I have passed some without paying too much attention but now that I need one I can't think of any 🤣 I've just looked up that place beside the Garda station and I remember spotting it before when driving past so I might try there. Thank you!

I could really notice last weekend that the summer tourist season has started, lots of visitors around the place which is nice to see!

    Parking Lidl Car Park/Dock 84.

Some friends got clamped in Lidl car park for exceeding 90 mins car park use.

Apparently Lidl doesn't own the cark park. I often use Lidl car park to go into Dock84 for longer than 90 mins.

Does anyone know if there's alternative arrangements in place for staying longer than 90 mins? Who owns car park?

Oh no, sure how do they know how long you've been there? I have often used it for Dock84 as well but it's usually at lunch so not more than 90 mins

On this week, the Sligo Jazz Festival: https://www.sligojazz.ie/

Must have gone over 90 minutes, but only just. 4 people in separate cars, had lunch in Dock84 and then went to go shopping in Lidl. Fella putting on the denver boots when they got back. €100 a pop. I think a Dublin company. Must have watched them arriving etc.

I'm looking forward to going to Tom Duffy's circus tomorrow night, I haven't been to the circus in years! My sister and nephews are visiting for the weekend so it's a treat for the boys. The circus is on at Carraroe until Tuesday.
