Yep, you're wrong. Never heard of it and it would run a horse and coach through everyone's working conditions. Not to mention BA not operating to SNN and crew having to know two airlines procedures.

The delay because of crew was most likely assembling crew in Dublin who are then transferred to SNN to work flights from there. SNN and BFS are worked by Dublin crews who are transferred there and back.

That’s hilarious to imagine someone passing to LHR to work for BA!

Totally incorrect. Not part of EI operations whatsoever.

*BHD. I thought EI were hiring crew for Belfast this year. Bit mad if they were and no CC in SNN. Considering BHD only has LHR & SNN has T/A flights which would of been more of a case for based crew.

Does any one know how many Tanks the LR have installed? I read a good while back that LRA-LRC were restricted & LRD - LRG could go further as they had a additional tank

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 468 ✭✭sherology

I believe 'on arrival' A-C were missing one of the additional tanks but they all now have them (I recall a post stating that yonks ago)

These 2 aircraft destined for a different airline originally will be re-fitted during winter with power outlets etc and the new EI shorthaul seat.

Engine is en route. Team to perform the swap and the relevant special tools are also in the area, guessing they will start work as soon as everything is in place.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Anyone know when the 330 comes back for the YYZ route? Christmas prices are a bit steep currently, maybe because the 321 is filling up quickly.

A 332 with no flight number or ref on FR24 flew overhead coming in from Perpignan yesterday afternoon, it was both sunny and cloudy at the time so I couldn’t see it but didn’t EI store some birds there? Might have been one coming back to go into service???

Appears Wednesday flights from Dub-Nce have been dropped for October. Also Dub-Bud seems to be back from October 30th.

We have Bassinet seats offered for most transatlantic flights; however, they are subject to availability and require pre-booking. (Hence the reason I got in contact)

We are required to place individuals with certain disabilities at the bulkhead, where the bassinet is located, and this could require us to reseat you if you have been assigned that seat.

We also kindly suggest considering purchasing a dedicated seat for your infant at a child rate for added comfort.

    ——————-

This was sent to me today when I tried to book a bassinet seat for my baby. What disabilities get assigned to bulkheads? I don’t fancy putting a 3 month old in a seat when the bassinet is what I need to make my daughter comfortable.

It was an ex-Avianca aircraft which is going to the Brazilian Air Force.

FNG on its way back from it's Connecticut holiday... Flight planners will no doubt be grateful.

Pre-booked seats are subject to change, as with every airline in the world. It’s just a disclaimer.

And they’re offering you the alternative of booking a row with an extra seat instead, lots of parents avail of this to give themselves and others more space. Some bring an approved baby seat in which their infant can sleep very comfortably during cruise, although I think must still be cradled for take off/landing with the appropriate loop-belt

They offered us a bassinet seat for wife and baby. Me 7 rows back and my 4 year old a row behind me.

Currently 62 free seats on that flight.

2nd A330 going to MAN, the 321LR G-EIRH is coming back to Dublin.

It’s been ‘suggested’ that Aer Lingus will add DEN & BUF next year and MAN-BOS will launch. If MAN-BOS launches assume it would be 330 instead of NEO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,409 ✭✭✭kevinandrew

If the Manchester based A321LR is returning to Dublin, that’s MAN-BOS out of the equation I’d say.

Two A330s would only cover the daily JFK and MCO service next summer, a frequency reduction on MCO could allow a 3x weekly BOS service on the A330 but that’s not at all ideal.

I was hoping 2 A332s and 1 A321LR would be the set up at MAN next summer, anything less wouldn’t instil much confidence on its medium term future.

Buffalo, NY is now rumoured for next summer. If it turns out to be a case of MAN-BOS or BUF, I’d very surprised to see BUF chosen!

Still no love for BDL. I always thought the loads were very good on that and they did get a couple of mil in marketing as well.

Well I meant BUF was rumoured for DUB not MAN. It was just MAN BOS mentioned. That won’t happen though if RH comes back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,409 ✭✭✭kevinandrew

I know, I was suggesting it’ll be a question of narrow body availability for either MAN-BOS or DUB-BUF with one likely giving way to the other.

It’s been rumoured that MAN will see two A332s next summer, allowing MCO to continue and JFK being upgauged but it was unknown what would happen to the currently based A321LR, if it stays, BOS becomes likely but if it returns, it’s obviously off the table as the two A332s wont be enough for another other than JFK and MCO at present frequencies.

BDL was going relatively well, it was growing year on year and loads were very strong during the summer months. It suffered a dip in numbers during 2019 due to the late delivery of A321LR’s which forced a frequency reduction in the peak months but it was still performing well overall.

I believe the airline and airport had agreed to begin reducing the incentives on an agreed timeframe as the route began to prove itself financially.

This obviously all changed with the pandemic. Restarting service will depend on negotiations, it will be a case of BDL and the local government keen to pick up where they left off but I imagine Aer Lingus management will claim the situation has changed significantly and wants a brand new incentive package similar to the original one before they consider returning. Bradley and Connecticut might find that pill hard to swallow and justifying more public money to secure the route could be too big an ask.

Buffalo may well be the next willing airport to throw money at Aer Lingus to claim a transatlantic service.

    Thats a bit ****.

But the child within a row of an adult is within EASA regulations.

Maybe most of the free seats are middles ones throughout the cabin? (EG 'E' or 'F')

Hadn’t someone mentioned here a few weeks ago EI was looking at sharing the DOH route with Qatar on the a321LR from DUB and also Cancun Dublin on a seasonal basis? I take it as it this isn’t happening anymore? What a shame if so, but it seems Aer Lingus is keeping the original plan of simply investing in NI including secondary airports willing to subsidised the route. Their sister Iberia takes a greater risk, re opening Tokyo and China from January onwards, investing further in the US but also keeping their strong South American market. The Aer Lingus strategy team seems to take very little to no risk on new markets since IAG took over. Even though Dubai failed, other routes could potentially work well.

I can't see EI being able to compete with the ME3 honestly – but perhaps direct service to somewhere like Singapore might work.

I develop Superior Solitaire when I'm not procrastinating on boards.ie.
