Anyone having issues trying to add money with BOI? Small amounts work fine like 200€ but larger amounts I immediacy just get BOI 3Ds not verified but it’s immediate it doesn’t even give a chance to do it.

rang BOI yesterday and they said it’s not an issue on their side and revolut said it’s not them.

Have you tried google pay? I never have issues using boi card with Google pay to top up my revolut

I'm new to Revolut. I have a BOI account and also a Mastercard with BOI. What is the best way to top up my Revolut from BOI. It is to add Revolut as as a Payee in my BOI account and then transfer money to Revolut just as I do for nay of my other payees. Or is there some better/quicker way? Thanks.

Do you use Google/Apple Pay? I find that the easiest and quickest way as it’s instant.

Thanks Mimikyu. I haven't used Google Pay before now, but have added it to my phone so I can use it to make payments with my Revolut virtual card. How do I use Google pay to top up my Revolut account. Can I add my BOI bank account to Google pay? Or do I add my BOI Mastercard to Google Pay and then use it to transfer money to my Revolut account? Sorry for such basic questions, just starting out on this.

You can add your BOI card to Google Pay and when topping up your Revolut account in the app you pick Google Pay and it tops it up through that.

You can also add your card details to Revolut but as seen in this thread this can cause the odd problem. Google/Apple Pay is much handier as there’s no 3D secure or any of that.

Hmm, I'll have to look more into it cos i priced a 2 month trip across Europe for myself and my boyfriend and it was showing €120+ on a few sites.

    Cheers

I have my BoI card added to Google Pay but for some reason Google Pay doesn't show as an option in my Revolut App. My daughter has the same problem.

Just a reminder to double check the APR on your Revolut loan agreement if signing up as mine was much higher than the 5.99% estimated on the application. I contacted customer care but they said they couldn't change it so I didn't take it for that reason.

The APR is determined by your credit history, your salary and spending pattern based on their AI determination.

The higher the risk to them the higher the APJ, just like with any lender with variable, the only difference is the data points used and that the AI has the final word.

Thanks, that's how they explained it also. Makes complete sense. I know everyone should be reading the documents carefully anyway for a loan but just that some people might miss it as they adjusted the term rather than the monthly repayments in the agreement. I nearly did because I was on my phone and in the back of my mind assumed the terms I had applied for were the ones I would be approved for.

Has anyone managed to get Eir to take Revolut’s IBAN for direct debit lately? Customer care are adamant they don’t take Revolut, but on their direct debit help page they say for international direct debits to fill out the mandate and post it back to them.

When I mentioned this to the customer care agent he again said they won’t take Revolut for direct debits.

I’ve moved over most of my direct debits already and this is the first problem I’ve had luckily.

i got an email telling me I had until July 28 to replace my card.Got it 4 days after ordering-this week

My BoI card is a business not a personal card

Topping up revolut is a no no as revut charge something like a fiver to top up with business debit cards

If I add that card to Google pay and top up via Google pay will I still be charged by revolut?

How will revolut know its a business card if via Google pay ?

I activated my replacement card as soon as I got it but I suppose it was ok to use the previous issue until the expiry date (July 28)and then activate the new card.Email said I had 56 days of use on the old card!!

If you're going to be buying anything on a weekend, exchange it first before the weekend.

    • Revolut rolling out 'Pay Later' feature in Ireland. Qualified customers can spread the cost of purchases up to €499 over three instalments. First instalment paid upfront at the time of purchase followed by two monthly instalments. The fee of 1.65% per purchase is repaid as part of the final two instalments. Customers will use Open Banking data from linked bank accounts to enable Revolut to assess whether they can afford to Pay Later

So only works if you can link your bank account?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

Same as their loans (which this new product effectively is)

And I love how it's 499€ maximum to stay under the 500€ reporting requirement to the Governments snoopers CCR.

Is there a way to save a reference on a transfer? With KBC when I go to pay my AIB credit card it saves my card number as the reference. With Revolut it defaults to “Sent from Revolut”.

Minor inconvenience I know but just wondering am I missing a setting?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,066 ✭✭✭jakdublin

It's attached to a single purchase so more like a credit card service, isn't it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,879 ✭✭✭bennyx_o

I'd assume it'll be like Klarna where they pay for the item and you then pay them back. I believe Klarna is interest free for the 3 months with no upper purchase limit and no requirement to link bank accounts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭SourSessions

Just delete sent from revolut and write in whatever you want

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,045 ✭✭✭✭Mimikyu

Oh sorry I know I can do this, but was wondering is there a way to save the reference so I don’t have to manually enter it every time.

With KBC when I go to make a bank transfer to AIB it has my card number saved in the reference field so I don’t have to grab the card and fill it in.

I know it’s a small nitpick but was just wondering if I missed an option or setting to save references.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

Sure. I just meant it’s a credit facility so similar to how they require a linked account to apply for a loan

It won’t be something I’ll be availing of

Not sure if anyone experienced this

Mrs Gunner paid money to her nephew who has Junior card linked to his mothers card. Money was sent but never received. Money was not taken from account. Nephew got a link but when he clicked it said it was claimed and now when she checks some random person(not in her contacts has claimed this)

Revolut said that the only way she can claim this is contact user asking them to return, but she does not know this user? She wants to know how it happened in case it happens again and wondering if fraudulent claim and can it be refunded, Revolut gone radio silence on this

Anyone experience this and what did they do or how can it happen?

I'll be heading to France during the week and intend on using my Revolut as the primary card for purchasing and ATM withdrawals etc.

Can someone advise if I am to initiate the location based security for this to take effect whilst over there?

    Thanks.
