Cold, wet, miserable, absolutely awful day.

yes, miserable, miserable, miserable, there are no other words for today...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,654 ✭✭✭appledrop

Yep, the rain is bad enough but also only 8 degrees.

Any idea when it's meant to improve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,528 ✭✭✭Hooter23

The forecast for today was for showers...well its one big shower that covers nearly half of the country...if you cant even forecast one day ahead what hope is there for the rest of the week

Not much of an improvement on the horizon, at least not as much as I would like. We may get up to 16 or 17C in the coming days but the cold will be back from Easter Monday and it won't be completely dry over the next few days, there will be rain or showers around.

Miserable day. What is it about Tuesdays? I often think if there is one day of the week that is most likely to be dull and damp its a Tuesday. Something I've noticed over the years or maybe I'm just going mad lol.

Thanks Gozo just so disappointing, especially as last week they were saying it would be lovely for Easter weekend.

Unfortunately we will be missing out on the warmth that the UK will get over the next few days, could get to 23C there. We're just too far west for the settled weather and the Atlantic will be nipping at our heels, at least it will be milder for a few days. Eastern and southern areas may get a bit more lucky with some dryer conditions over the next few days but it will turn very wet from Easter Sunday and much cooler from Monday everywhere.

About another 10 to 20mm of rain can be expected between now and Sunday and then another 10 to 15mm between Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Next week looks cold and blustery with plenty of rain or showers and temperatures around 9 to 13C. I just want this April to end at this stage, this has been our winter month.

Yeah as someone else said it was nearly nicer in Dec!

Thanks for that trying to plan a few family outings.

Good Friday might be best day, looks a bit drier than the rest.

Drove from Trim (Meath) to Dublin city this afternoon. There was some very light rain in Meath but it's dried up fairly well in the city. It's about 9° and the winds are very light so it it's not feeling all that bad. Granted, I would like some warmth and sunshine but it's mid April and the beginning of official summer is still over 7 weeks away so I'm not minding the not so bad weather around this time of year although I usually expect the first of the really pleasantly mild days to arrive around late April/early May......the sort of weather where it's mild rather than warm (say around 17/18/19°) but if you have a decent amount of sunshine to go with it combined with light/calm winds, the extra solar radiation is enough to make it feel quite warm in direct sunshine.

Cleared in Wicklow around 1230 and got some nice walks in the afternoon. As we left Wicklow behind this evening it became more overcast and a fog-like dull appearance all the way to Meath.

Was in west Clare today absolutely atrocious day like something from late November.

I know what your saying highdef, it's just so disappointing as Easter holidays and was hoping to do more things outdoors.

I know its Ireland, but last week the forecast was good for Easter, just a shame it's changed.

At least we had a glorious St. Patrick's weekend for a change

MAYS LOOKING COLD AND WET AS IS THE SUMMER. TIME TO START BOOKING A HOLIDAY

    TO ESCAPE THIS HOLE.

Ya May is looking cold and wet but on the 12th it will be sunny and hot 30c.

Weather forecasting seems a bust nowadays. More inaccurate than its ever been. Maybe they need to get a supercomputer and spend millions on various different weather forecasting models.

Likely weather for May is sun rain wind cloud mist. That's all we know.

    At last a grand day!

It's actually nicer out there than it looks, not that sunny but feels lovely and mild after the cold of last few days + it's dry.

May is not looking good at all based on the rather inaccurate CFS extended, however there is definitely hope for June and July, those are looking much warmer and more settled. August is looking like August.

Long range models are basically just very early prototypes of a system that might eventually be relatively accurately after many many more iterations.

Our weather has been warmer than average for quite a while now so hopefully that trend continues into the summer.

A big downgrade from Gerry there on the 9.30 forecast for the weekend. Rain moving across the country Saturday. Very showery Sunday.

We were in luck today in Dublin.

Just back from a brilliant day at the zoo.

It wasn't looking very promising this morning big dark clouds everywhere, but thankfully rain stated away all day.

    Lovely and mild aswell.

I great day had by all.

    Lovely sunshine now this evening.
