It results in issues because they are terrible at managing resources and overreact to COVID.

I was quoting someone else who was quoting from an inaccurate source, so, no, I didn't say that earlier.

It would. It's not happening though so don't worry yourself needlessly.

Tell that to my taste buds and olfactory nerves. It's definitely physical.

Not saying they want them back but RTE have never got rid of them; just look at their live audiences. I’d say the mask is wanted back by a lot in RTE tbh.

Virgin themselves have had a good few journalists profiting from Covid with books and podcasts. Not saying they want anything back, but restrictions don’t do them any harm.

You could argue that wearing masks, closing pubs at 8pm and restricting sports crowds to 5,000 was a failure also given the huge case numbers we had in January

So I accept that removing restrictions doesn't work and neither does keeping them

I'd say more than 50% is incidental, the way the HSE work 50% is last week's figure

I think it's clear a full lockdown is needed. This time do it properly. Everyone needs to wfh. If you need some groceries, set up a zoom call with one of your local supermarkets sales staff and order it there. You can have a safe chat with the person helping you so you can get your daily social contact in at the same time to combat loneliness.

Same with the postie, schedule a time with him or her when you can safely pick up your post from the wheely bin outside their gaff.

If you need a haircut, zoom with your local barber and he'll guide you through it. It's important to remember that things are reversed when looking in a mirror.

5 or 6 months of this and we'll be on the other side of it. Now is not the time to be complacent.

I knew these “customers” of yours didn’t actually exist. This is you saying these things. You’ve got form for it. It’s over, deal with it.

In all this theater whatever happened to the get 1,2,3 doses of vaccine so you won't catch covid, so you won't transmit it to other people, so you won't go to the hospital, so even if you get it you won't feel a thing, so that you definitely won't end up in ICU, so that even if you do you definitely won't die.. and on and on... I mean if the mask was the solution we should have just mandate it.. oh wait

Locking down now when we are likely very close to the peak of this wave makes no immunological sense whatsoever, the right time to lockdown would have been at the start of the wave but that passed us by without anybody realising it

Yeah we only had about 500000 cases a week around Christmas, masks really worked then.

Unlikely, no masks now for the last few weeks and a more transmissible variant with a tenth of your predicted case numbers

Best thing that could happen now is for all Covid "testing" to stop immediately. It's only purpose is to continue an income stream for the National Virus Reference Lab in UCD. Cilian de Gascún's outfit has certainly done well out of Irish noses.

What we now have is the HSE's annual collapse, not worth a politicans interest ordinarily, but whip up a bit of Covid frenzy and it's all to play for.

End the testing...ditch the remaining masks, and see how humanity (including most of the "Vulnerable") waltzes right on by !

It's either that or surrender to the permanently bothered ! 😷😤😷

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Cases not really rising significantly over last few months despite relaxation of restrictions.
