Djokovic is an arrogant personality, but he's also the world no.1 tennis player. How gullible are the Australians? He would quarantine and be tested continuously. It also lessens the value of the tournament without the World No.1 competing. All logic has been long ago lost to Covid - which in its current variant is far less of a threat than previously. Imagine believing the mishandling of the pandemic in Australia, from Dictator Dan in Victoria to Scott Morrison, and quarantine camps in Queensland and Western Australia - is suddenly all non-resident Novak's fault.

They are separate. The MoH has used SIs and changes to the 1947 Health Act for a lot of this and that's who gets to say, officially, when we stop using them. A NPHET is set up and dissolved by the MoH and that can happen for any situation.

Are vaccinated people getting hospitalised with omicron? I know NPHET have been lying about incidental admissions, what else are they lying about

It mightn't be considered similar to a cold but more like a mild flu virus whereby the majority of people get over it in a few days. I've had Omrican and the first strain in March 2020. I had a completely different reaction to both. The first one caused COVID toes and Omrican caused tiredness, an upset stomach, sore throat and diarrhea. I've had the booster so hopefully I should be immune for a good while and until society is back to normal.

I earlier stated that COVID was the biggest overreaction in the history of science

It's is now the biggest jokeshop in history

We are literally closing down society for nothing

Surely there will be lessons learned

lets hope Omicron makes this all redundant or can we have an election please.

Not sure on the vaccination status, but people are/have been hospitalised with it, even if the lethality does become more like the flu, the sheer transmission rates of it would make it problematic (it could also be less lethal than the flu but cause problems because of this). Either way, no point overplaying or underplaying it at this point, it certainly isn't just a cold.

Yeah, perfectly normal behaviour by a PM to want to check a private citizens medical records. Nothing g odd about that at all and certainly not a distraction from their handling of the issue.

Yeah, probably all the experts who said it would never happen i Ireland. Even Stevie Wonder could see this was coming from a mile out.

Hang on a minute. If you need a booster added to your pass what happens when the booster stops working ?

No, a check when someone is trying to circumvent the Rules, perfectly reasonable and appropriate, not of course such a thing would happen in Ireland. As the PM (Not normally very elegant) put it, There shouldn't be separate rules .

Your clearly trying to make this about his vaccination status, I am not and won't, as previously explained, it's about a wink and nod to the entitled and I'm delighted it's backfiring spectacularly.

It is fun to s**t on, and feel superior to, other groups of people.

Unfortunately, it is frowned upon now and the classic whipping boy groups are protected. Even workplace bullying is legislated for and frowned upon now.

Luckily, seven months ago we created a system where you could participate in the sh****ng and the superiority without guilt. We even get to feel morally correct about the whole thing.

I know we had groups to satisfy the hate for the year or so beforehand, but to have it legislated in law just made it all the more satisfying. And legitimate too. Having the media and government support it all meant we could go hell for leather with the whole thing.

Now with the modifications, we're going to have not just the unvaccinated, but also the unboostered.

The feeling of superiority is going to be euphoric.

And people on here earlier thought we were coming to the end 😂

Some day maybe enough will wake up to this ****.

I wouldn’t have believed you at the start of this. But people I denigrated as conspiracy theorists were right.

I was watching Boris earlier and the more I thought about it, I'm convinced our shower literally following his lead, uncanny the similarities in recent decisions being made. All well a good if life can get back to normal I guess.

Other countries are stopping the negative test being allowed too (see Macrons comments yesterday). They're either being paid a lot by pharma companies for this or they really do consider the non vaccinated as sub human and want to restrict their lives so they don't have to interact with them, or possibly both.

Look forward to more riots this year. It's going to turn quite violent before long in somewhere like France.

The Covid "Emergency" has been over since mid 2020,if it ever did exist in the first place.

However, the Emergency which has replaced it is far more immediate and very real indeed.

It is the very real possibility that The National Public Health Emergency Team, convened under the Emergency Provisions of the 1947 Heath Acts will now be placed on a permanent footing and renamed something incredibly catchy like The National Public Heath Team.

Such a confection,if left constituted as it currently is,would be a very powerful tool for any Minister for Health to have, given it would be structured like, for example the National Transport Authority, full of wide ranging powers, but with almost no accountability.

Given the way the wind is now blowing in other traditional European bastions of Freedom,Equality and Brotherhood,it represents to me,a concerted affort by persons,as yet unknown,to mount a putsch against individual freedoms.

These are dark times for Freedom, with Public Health having ZERO to do with anything about it now !!! 😟

I know what you meant. It’s just that it’s a double-edged. On the positive side you get Covid and are therefore the unvaxxed restrictions no longer apply to you (if confirmed by PCR). But on the downside your natural immune system becomes so strong that you might never get the Covid again and have to live with the unvaxxed restrictions forever.

(I wouldn’t hold my breath about them being gone in June)

This would be a blessing in disguise if we follow his lead. Will get us back to normality.

Simple. You get a booster every February then nine months later it expires and all hospitality closes until the following February. Yet irresponsible citizens still put the hospitals under pressure…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 160 ✭✭noraos

Yeah..I think multiple cases of covid, must mean each variant can get through ,both natural immunity and vaccines I guess...and now the variants are getting weaker...really does mean the certs should be scrapped..

It's definitely more about control and money and not our health anymore..its even questionable was it ever about our health after mid 2020.

I’ve noticed mid week the pubs around me are virtually dead. May have two or three people in them max. Nobody wants to go out for max two hours after work and that was precisely the point, closing the pubs without closing the pubs, a shadow ban so to speak.

Absolutely insidious behaviour from NPHET and Tony Holohan. It actually sickens me.
