Had a look at the Dakar initial camp, it really showed me how massive a task this race actually is, over 1000 racing vehicles with 1000’s of support vehicles and I believe 8 helicopters for TV camera’s. This whole circus will spend the next two weeks racing over 7000 kms.

Assuming that they are in a Covid bubble, I kept my distance :)

Chilling on the bed with a good book, feeling thoughtful about the year that’s been and the new year ahead. I have a gut feeling that if I play my cards right, it could be a very good year for me. 👍👍

On the phone earlier to two family members and it’s clear that nearly two full years of Covid has taken its toll on our collective mental health.

Tummy still not fully back to normal but was able to get a swim in earlier on.

A very bad day of rain here today and more on the forecast for tomorrow, saying that we got the early morning walk in before it fully hit, home then for a nice breakfast, didn't bother with the nap afterwards as had a few domestic jobs to do around the house, I did a bit of reading of my new Christmas book for the afternoon while OH watched a documentary on Netflix, nice late dinner then and hitting the hay shortly. Ordered a few more books on Eason this evening to keep the reading supply up for the next lockdown.

We're doing our best at the moment, have a few elderly and vulnerable family members who we're trying (as much as possible) to keep out of danger of catching Covid, we've a lovely little evening arranged for tomorrow for just OH and I, a takeaway ordered from a local restaurant and I'm after getting in a bottle of a lovely French wine that they love so a nice little treat for the two of us, a safe new year's eve.

Chilling here after a few household chores done, tummy is playing up again.

Did manage to get into the park earlier on to meet up with my best mate - it had been weeks since I saw him last so a good catch up was in order. 😊👍👍 We are both really hoping for a 2022 of more normality and certainty after the past two years of Covid.

Will be taking it really easy tonight - staying in (as most of us are doing lol) and will probably watch Jools Holland’s Hootenany on the telly. RTÉ is beyond dire at NYE.
