I'm sure they'll be plenty of riots with or without Trump.

This is dated information from anonymous sources. Don Trump's pal Mike Lindell hosted a "cyber symposium" in August at which data gained from breaches of the election networks of Colorado and Ohio was revealed. Allegedly the reason behind the breaches was to find fraud. The attempted breach in Ohio occurred on May 4 inside the county office of John Hamercheck, R, chairman of the Lake County Board of Commissioners, according to two individuals with knowledge of the incident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigations by the FBI and state agencies. State and county officials said no sensitive data were obtained, but they determined that a private laptop was plugged into the county network in Hamercheck’s office, and that the routine network traffic captured by the computer was circulated at the same Lindell conference as the data from the Colorado breach. Asked in a telephone interview whether he knew of the attempted breach or participated in it, Hamercheck said he was advised not to discuss the investigation. The report covered in several media sources was updated 16 hours ago.

Can we pause for a second and just consider how anaemic and out of touch the threat of "communism" is? A dead, historical political concept for ... what? 30 years now? At least the permanently fearful on Fox News had the awareness to modernise a little with the threat of "socialism" (or if they're feeling especially salty, warning how "European" a law might be). Instead, it speaks to just how forgotten and crusty Trump's base are - and Trump himself - that in 2021 "communism" is wheeled out as a bogeyman

It's incredible, and I've said it before, I've never heard the word muttered so much as I have in the last 10 years or so. Outside history groups that I talk with, the word Communism was a scarcity. Now you have it being mentioned as if it's just around the corner. What's even more hilarious is that when it's mentioned by Trump gobshites, especially in America, it's in relation to Biden and the Democratic Party...which is an astonishing outlook on politics from any point of view. A country with Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee Neo-Liberal political parties and you have clowns talking about "Communism" and worse, clowns believing it.

It just reinforces the concept that there truly are incredibly dumb people out there that will lap up anything that someone says if they've set themselves up as their "leader". It's absolutely amazing. No critical thinking whatsoever. Just belief, irrespective of every other bit of information that comes their way.

But it's a symptom of what political thinking, if it can even be called that, has become for a lot of people. Simple catchphrases and mantras repeated ad nauseam. All without context or or any kind of grounding. Just keep repeating a particular buzz word and it'll go into enough empty minds to make some sort of difference.

Is the "culture war" not the new red menace? Maybe communism resonates better with older voters?

It might be worth noting that the statement didn't claim Trump is still the president, just the 45th president and he didn't blame the Biden administration for the Covid deaths that have occurred so far this year. It makes the statement look like it had two scripters, A person acknowledging in 16 words the facts on who's president and the pandemic, and then the usual input from Trump. Maybe Rupert Murdoch's boardroom speech has got across to those alleging loyalty to Trump and reality is coming back to some in the GOP.

This might be a wake-up call from within the GOP. Gov Chris Sununu (R) New Hampshire has told CNN that he will not be running for re-election, that the GOP should stop going after GOP members who voted approval of moves of the Biden admin plan to revitalise the national road & transport infrastructure, that he approves of the plan. He was addressing those who are of the Pro-Trump and Q-Anon variety in the GOP, along with the other GOP members.

    Sur, who needs roads?

    USA is totally screwed imo.

It's the economy that'll gain from actual jobs on the ground and factories and some in the GOP seem to recognize it. Media reports has some of the GOP congress members claiming to be pro the Biden plan, though they were against the plan at the vote. As James Carville of Clinton's campaign said "Its the economy, stupid". I think they've woken up to the fact that their voters know jobs are on the line now, with more cash in their pockets as a result.

Its a major plus talking point for Biden if Trump runs again.

Trump talked incessantly about infrastructure, how he knew more than anyone, but he had 4 years and achieved nothing.

Biden delivered with his 1st year.

One gets stuff done, the other just talks about it.

The chair of the GOP, Ronna Romney McDaniel, has confirmed that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. As the Dallas News reports it, She said "Joe Biden won the election, it sucks". Other media sources also reported that she conceded on the 18th last that Biden won the election.

Pennsylvania Republican Sean Parnell is suspending his campaign for Senate.

Parnell, endorsed in the race by Trump, lost a fight for custody of his children to his estranged wife, who had accused him of abuse in court testimony.

More and more, these statements descend into utterly nonsensical rambling. Before long, it will look like this :-

If he declines to cooperate with the investigation and ends up being prosecuted, there's no handy presidential pardon for Stone this time. Is the Jennifer Lawrence on the list the actress who dissed Trump?

Not good at all that for the Dems, Trump could have easily powered Parnell through a primary but he would have been toxic in a run off running on a MAGA type platform. I dunno who will win that primary, but it would be interesting if Toomey takes back his retirement. He may struggle to win a primary after voting to impeach Trump, but the state is not a Trump stronghold at all.

I think looking at some of the awful candidates running for senate, parnell along with Greitens in MO and the freakshow that is the Ohio primary, Parnell was the biggest concern for the GOP. Walker in Georgia,,,who knows.

He has so much baggage but maybe if its a wave year then he could win, but obviously shaping up to be the most interesting senate race atm.

What's going to be fascinating to see who can Trump carry a primary for when it comes to 2022.

Trump endorsement is useless in a Swing state - It has value in a Blood Red GOP State/District for the Primary but beyond that it's poison.

Having Trump championing your cause isn't going to win you a single "undecided" voter.

Mark Meadows wrote in his new book that Trump tested positive for Covid-19 three days [26 Sept] before the 1st debate with Biden held on 29 Sept 2020 and did not tell anyone Covid-19 had hit him. Trump was rushed to Walter Reed hospital by helicopter from the W/House at the start of Oct 2020.

I expect from this revelation and from his decision to appear before the Congress committee investigating the insurrection bid at The Capitol by Trump supporters on the 06 Jan this year that it may be taken that there is a split between both men unless, of course, this a plan by Meadows and others with experience to waste the committee's time on behalf of Trump.

To be somewhat expected, looks like one of Trump's picks, Kavanaugh is making initial noise over a softening of Roe Vs Wade. To these ignorant eyes it reads like hes hiding behind a "stateist" perspective but it's still a potential bullet being chambered against the judgement

It's beginning to look like a war between men, women and women over body integrity rights with a version of religious rights being used as a cover to overturn the Roe V Wade judgement. Hopefully the court will see sense and stick with the existing judgement as the standard for women's rights over those of people who want to destroy those rights. As for the judges, ruling on something which some of them are more than likely to have a bias against should have obliged them to step aside temporarily from sitting on the bench on this issue. A case of one sense of morality over-ruling the other obligatory sense of morality for judges.

Well alongside Kavaunagh we also have Trump's other pick, Barrett who IIRC is herself a social conservative in this regard. Presumably, the intent is not to remove Roe vs. Wade altogether so they can plead "Reason", but undercut it enough that individual states can follow Texas and the like with their ludicrous legislation - making it functionally irrelevant. A sad state of affairs but I guess ultimately - this is precisely what the conservatives wanted from Trump in the first place as their Useful Idiot.

Hopefully the women in the US who are genuinely interested in protecting their existing constitutional and court-granted rights from interference by abusive men, and by some of the female US high office holders and dilettante toadying up to the men, wake up and turf those gutting them out of office and positions of control.

On the Mark Meadows book front, it's been reported that he's said the news reports on the "Trump Covid-19 illness" start-point quote taken from his book is "fake News" after Trump described the reports as "Fake News".

There seems to have been an interesting development in the US Senate with Mitch McConnell agreeing not to vote against Biden's stop-gap government funding bill, adding that shutting down the government over opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates makes no sense. The funding allows for funding of federal agencies until Feb 18 next year.

I don't know much of how important the funding is for the agencies and the services they give to the public but assume that as McConnell has agreed to have the Senate GOP vote alongside the Senate Democrats it's very important. It seems to pave the way for the funding bill an easy ride through the Congress voting system and a win for the Biden Admin.

It's how Trump reacts to such a bipartisan vote in both the senate and house that interests me. If he starts ranting about Mitch again, can I take it that he sees it as another slap in the face for himself? Could it also be seen by rebel GOP members in both chambers and two specific Democrat senators that deal making and bipartisan-ship between the parties is the way to go for the next few months at least?

Trump's insistence on getting loyalty from those he believes are indebted to him included Premier Netanyahu of Israel. He became aware that Ben was the first leader to send a message congratulating Joe Biden on winning the presidential election race, accused Benny of being disloyal to him and said "f*** him" in an interview with an Israeli journalist.

So just because Trump moved an embassy to Jerusalem a few years ago he thought that he had bought the likes of Netanyahu?

    What a clown.

    Fascinating primary.

Perdue was very unlucky not to win in the 1st round of the senate vote in 2020 , and then he decided to hitch his load to MAGA whose leader told his base not to bother voting in January because it was "rigged",,,however Perdue is back for more .....

Brian Kemp has okish numbers in Georgia and governs like a standard GOP governor would govern for better or worse.

Kemp is stacking up some very strong local GOP endorsements while Perdue is all in on MAGA and hoping Trump secures him the primary.

Trump normally in a primary gets involved when the result is nearly over, this however is very close, if Perdue loses then its proof the party is slowly slipping from his grasp.

The likes of RDS and Nikki Haley will be watching this primary very closely indeed.

Even beyond the primary, that's going to be a very interesting contest. Stacey Abrams is going for the Democrat nomination and she's a very formidable candidate.

Its not the end of the world if she loses as its going to be hard for a lot of Dems if its a redwave, but if she was to win next year then is in a great position to run for President in 2028.

Looking at some of the governor races its not nice reading for Dems, but a small bit of good news is Charles Baker of Massachusetts the GOP governor is stepping down which means the Dems will have a very easy pick up their as the person who will come through the primary will be a MAGA idiot. That's all well and good in Alabama not so much in Massachusetts.

Its a warning though to both parties, keep calling people " Dinos " and "Rinos" ....they will get the hump some day and leave and you will lose.

For Trump everything is a Zero-sum game.

His entire life is based on Quid-pro-quo (although I doubt he knew the term before his 1st impeachment)

The idea of doing something because it's right doesn't factor for him. He has to get something in return for everything he does , whether that's cash or praise he doesn't care. It's also why he has to punch back at even the smallest perceived slight , he has to "balance the ledger" for everything..

Thinking that the McCain family owed him because he "allowed" John McCain a State funeral is another one. There are so many examples.

It displays an incredible lack of maturity and emotional depth.
