Thankfully there is a canary in this mine.....watchfinder. If you ever sell a watch to them you notice it doesnt go on sale for about 6 months. They buy on the predicted price in 6 months and on top of that they control the prices and hoard supply. If WF ever start not making offers on watches or making really terrible offers you know the thing is about to pop. As time goes on, Chrono24 prices are more and more fantastical. Remember that with Nicos internet fame, he can put heavy prices on watches that people will pay just to get the P&P experiance (which is actually a very good experiance)

@893bet I did say above it was likely the VAT element for euro sales.

You did but even a broken watch is right twice a day:)

It was meant more in jest than seriousness. If i ever get my AP though (its always another 6-8 weeks🙄) i'll probably move on my YM for something more classic looking like an ALS.

I’m down to get a RG Royal Oak Chronograph to replace the one that was stolen. Weirs don’t do AP, which is unfortunate because they arranged for a replacement GMT master without me even asking, which was very good of them. Though apparently Sheerans did AP back in the 00s though.

Ah yes. The level of demand for watches that you would assume is not are not in demand is surprising. Gold 30k watches with waitlists.

Ireland is a waste for sourcing watches. No AP, no VC, No ALS. Very little bar mainstream luxury of Rolex, Omga, tag, brietling etc.

Lucky you are dealing with Weirs. Remember Keanes lost a lads GMT withstand was in for a service on here and they just paid by cheque in the end. It was a discontinued model aswell. Weirs went above and beyond considering the loss was nothing to do with them.

I agree with micks_address, you'd have to ask or risk getting a polite "thank you" and it sitting in a drawer for the next 20 years. The reality is 99% of people have zero interest in stuff like that unfortunately.

Is this your VC deepstream ?

Like Banie, I may also have an interest in this if you decide to move it on.

Just been watching the FP3 in the Formula 1 from a rain soaked Istanbul circuit.

And it struck me that Rolex has been the official timekeeper for a while now, and I've never even seen a reference to a Rolex Formula 1 time piece.

I've seen pictures of a red accented, black dial steel Daytona, but I don't even know if it is real.

With IWC, TAG Heuer, Hublot and Richard Mille as high profile team sponsors, I wonder is Rolex deliberately staying out of the F1 branding race?

Tried on a friends 2013 sub last night. They are a lovely watch in fairness

I think unless you have a desire and spare cash to get into above €20k watches a sub is all you need. To me it’s tool watch perfection and has all the high end clout needed from a watch.

Pretty much. Unless you are a bit bigger and want something just like a sub but more substantial, less common and with a bit more attitude. Paul Thorpe called it the best sports watch Rolex has ever made. Thank fook I didn't sell it when I got a good offer on it a few months ago. Fell in love with it again last time I went swimming. Still wearing it 24/7, even the Panerai barely gets a look in

I think you need unkel sized wrists for the sea dweller. It’s class but you need the wrists for it

Not so sure if you need big wrists. Mine are only a bit over average anyway. Sure the JC looks silly on a size zero supermodel like David Beckham's son who owns this watch, but for 75% of men it would look fine. The only thing you'd need to get to grips with is the weight of the watch and the height.

I'm up in Belfast in a couple of weeks and will have some time to kill. So with that in mind 😉 apart from Pride & Pinion and Lunns? Where else is worth a look around the city centre?

Anyone have much dealings with chrono24? Their responses are borderline rude, while all the time I'm being polite.

Bought a 2531.80 off them last week, the diver's extension wouldn't clasp for me (I thought I was in the wrong). They want it back for repair

did you buy from them direct or from a seller using the platform?

Is anything getting delivered via an post from Royal Mail? I ordered an ndc strap couple of weeks ago and it was sent Royal Mail. No sign of it yet. I suspect it was returned to sender. Same with a phone case from red bubble. Never arrived.

It's brutal. Looks like Irish customs are being totally anal on purpose. Got a watch strap sent from the UK about a month ago. Tiny issue with the customs code and it got sent back to him. And this is a professional who does nothing but make straps and sell and ship them anywhere in the world. He says the only country that is making it difficult post Brexit is Ireland. He sent it again with the correct code (at his expense) and that was about 3 weeks ago, presumable stuck in customs somewhere

Funny, I had an item from China (where the vat was included) but wasn't declared properly. A one euro item, the letter came in the post to pay up vat. I said I'd leave it considering how low value the item was.

Week or two later the item landed in the post without me paying up!

In the process of making plans for the week off, thinking about a trip to Donegal for a few nights as never been and with Stobart Air gone out of business, there's a swedish airline,Amapola Flyg operating a cool vintage Fokker 50 on the route which I would love to try! 😁

Still considering organizing a small Watch GTG , is there any interest from people on here? Let me know if so and any other ideas for my week off, watch related or otherwise 😉
