Does it look likely that a return to the office is
on the cards for July/ August? have hoped it would be later! Just confused as Covid return to work training being rolled out. Hoping for some days remote. Is this likely or could it be a 4 day week?

It depends on the department. I’m in DSP and on the office 5 days per week as I’m training. Most of the other employees are in the office 4-5 days per week as well

Hey has anyone been called from the Cork panel lately and if so what number were you on OOM? I emailed them over the last two weeks twice and was told 253 called off OOM in the 1st email and in the 2nd 175 so was just looking to see if anyone had been called lately to know which is correct.
    Thanks in advance

It'll be no issue but you might end up deferring your start date rather than starting and going on holiday at this point. Only issues crop up in departments which have intakes such as call taker for AGS or possibly revenue.

Exactly, and the increment date in future would tally eith this combined service date

Hi Vologda69, just read some of your replies about increments and starting salaries. Just wondering if you can help with my query? I have about 5 years service as a Grade 4 CO about 15 years ago. After a break bringing up kids I'm now trying to get back working & got on to a panel for TCO. I know this is the equivalent of a Grade 3 but was trying to get an idea of where I'd start on that salary. I was on LS1 on the Grade 4 (15 years ago). Thanks & hope you're getting on well with your job!

Usually the grade would have to be similar (analagous). Public service will sometimes grant incremental credit for admin.experience. Civil service less so. I would suggest getting a letter from your previous HR dept. detailing your period of service and chase it up with the new HR section when appointed. The worst they can say is no. I got incremental credit for a grade V admin experience in an Irish university, when entering HSE as a grade III. The salary they wouldnt match. I was then able to transfer this to the Civil Service. So im near top of the scale now

Did anyone recently get results for the library assistant panel for louth coco? I know that isn’t necessarily clerical officer role but they’re on a similar salary grade I think so chancing my arm asking here.

They said during the interview they would be recruiting 5 people from the panel and hope to start them immediately. Just wondering if anyone’s heard anything since getting their panel results?

Hi all, at CO interview is the competency 'drive and commitment to public service values' assessed throughout the interview or is it asked as a specific question? Thanks.

Started as CO last November and am thinking of doing a springboard course. My preference would be computers/coding but don't know if that would be beneficial to progression. Any one any idea on courses which would be considered worthwhile in promotion terms

Hi, I've just been asked if I want to go ahead with clearance for Limerick. Does anyone have any idea of how long it takes from clearance and vetting to starting a position. I am wondering if I need to give notice to my current employer as I have to work 1 months notice. Thanks.

Hi, just wondering how long people are waiting for interview results please. I had my interview yesterday. Also, do they let you know if you aren't successful or just if you are successful, thanks

It depends but can be up to two weeks and they will tell you if successful or not

I would say go and do a course you’re interested in. It’s very unusual that CO’s avail of further/third level course, in the place I used to work in I was the only CO that was attending a course out of 20 odd CO’s. it also looks great if you’re thinking of going for EO or HEO promotion. 👍

Good question I am also wondering this.

At what stage does one need to give current employer notice? I presume after clearance has been passed but maybe someone on here could confirm?

Also, is there a €500 pay increase this year and next for clerical officers?

Currently going through the process myself. Once I received the request for my documents I did tell my employer that there was a possibility of my leaving and that someone may be in touch for a reference (I know that this may not be an option for everybody). When I sent back all my documents I was asked if it was ok for PAS to contact my employer or did I wish to speak to him first. I'm assuming that I will be able to give my employer a months notice officially when/if formally offered a position.

Can I ask what the €500 increase is? Or how it's based? I started as a CO in May, will I be entitled to this? Sorry for the questions, I just hadn't heard anything about it!
