NPHETs projections are always a load of bollix. Remember this beauty from the end of March? Yet everything they say is taken as gospel by the government each time.

    .

And that was factoring in the vaccines.

NPHETs advice described as "very sobering"

The Cabinet Covid Committee is set to meet tonight to consider recommendations from the National Public Health Emergency Team around the further easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

The advice has been described as very sobering in regard to the potential impact of the Delta variant.

If people could kindly not kick up a fuss if weddings are allowed to go up to 50 guests that would be swell. I've been out of work since March last year and would very much appreciate getting to work through the summer at least (before the inevitable winter "abundance of caution").

    Many thanks.

I’m getting married in three weeks. The relief when I read this. Now let’s hope they have some cop on and open the rest.

Yeah this has happened a few times whereby one ridiculous decision fuels comparisons with another that has had restrictions rightly removed. Happened with GAA back in April when it should never have been stopped in the first place.

Indoor dining should be allowed, weddings should have reasonable numbers, stadiums should be semi or completely full. The restoration of any of these is to be demanded and welcomed

What a shock. So on the sobering scale it’s not a very sobering. What’s left on the concerning language scale ?

The Government have hitched their wagon to NPHET. “Following the advice” will be the mantra of every senior politician who will appear in front of the future tribunal which will be established in the coming years to examine how the country was bankrupted.

NPHET have been gerrymandered to give one single viewpoint. It is stuffed with single-issue, over-cautious, medical bureaucrats. There are no representatives of business, tourism, education, mental health or sociologists. The Government do not want a range of options being spat out of NPHET because then they would have to make a choice which they could be held accountable for. Round and round we go. We are now the most indebted nation in Europe and it’s growing every single day.

We are basically funding one of the most expensive arse-covering exercises in history.

understands that among its recommendations to Government, NPHET will suggest that pubs & restaurants could be allowed to serve fully vaccinated people indoors.

Individuals will need to provide proof of vaccination.

No different than in other European countries like Denmark with their Coronapass

Now I'm fully vaccinated but have a shotty piece of paper which is falling apart to prove so

How's that supposed to reassure publicans?

Will you stop with this conspiracy theory stuff..... It's always those that disagree with the "science", are theorists of the non-governmental believing type!

Just as a side note has Delta Max Plus arrived yet?

Any country using that system also allows Antigen tests which the government provide for free.

Unvaccinated people ? Oh yeah now that I’m thinking about it most of the staff in my local would be my age or a bit younger so won’t have been fully vaccinated by July 5th.

I bet 'the next two weeks will be critical' will be rolled out next.....

They are not giving you an MRI - they are asking if you are vaccinated.

Doubt they'll go with it to be honest

Yeah. It's one of those ideas that's ok in theory, but very difficult in practice.

Several weeks ? Right well he’s normally on the ball and going with the “very sobering” tone it’s hardly surprising it’s touch and go.
