Weak government, weaker opposition, docile population, appalling media, cautious conservative country unless it’s some trendy social media led cause and of course social media itself. What a time to be Irish.

    Excellent summation. Weak sauce.

I miss actual news reporters. Remember the ones who weren’t interested in self promotion and making friends and instead would ask intelligent questions that would hold decision makers feet to the fire?

Sorry but imagine going out and buying a book about the pandemic after we lived every painful day of it for 15 months. I want to go to the cinema, the theatre, museums, football matches, gigs and not give another fcuking thought to covid 19. It wasn't a gripping story, it was a horrible nightmare.

Tony H is revvered by 50% of the country , he got the Freedom of Dublin a few weeks back.
50% of the Population are happy to live in this state of Limbo , semi locked down and told what to do at the daily 6 PM briefings - 50% of the population are living in a state of over-anxiety of the virus , yet ther are only 39 people in hospital with Covid today, and the Indian variant has thankfully started to decline rapidly in India. I have been to India many times , great country but has great poverty and is over-crowded, Covid was always going to be a bigger problem ther than Ireland.

Have you a source for these figures? Many Amárach polls are seriously questionable in their polling results.

Cinemas museums and football matches have fans now. Gigs as well if you consider Gavin James a musician.

Daily briefings haven't happened since October, I wouldn't be relying on his facts.

It is funny how so many people have been watching the Euros and realize how far behind we are all of a sudden. Like, what the **** have they been watching for the last year? Are their heads so far into the sand at this stage that they haven’t a clue how much of an outlier Ireland has been. How can people exist in such ignorance.

Has anyone thought about where this all actually ends? Any theories? We’re years away aren’t we. Other countries maybe not but we are.

So the systems will be in place and pending approval.

Hardly progress on actual relaxation of restrictions.

Yes, everything is pending approval until it's approved, that's how approval works.

Look England had to delay their next stage so there will only be 60000 at the Euro finals.

Portugal had to introduce a weekend travel restriction in and out of Lisbon.

Lets sit back and laugh at these failure countrys and give Tony a minutes applause every Thursday night for saving us from these draconian measures.

I deleted it because I don't want to enter a discussion with you.

But since you wanna go at me, fine!

You're talking through your arse, denying you ever said it when you did!

You're being called out for saying you can go to the cinema, museums, matches and gigs in this country when you can't go to any gigs and you can't go to any football matches yet!

Musicians aren't even allowed play in their locals! But no, you want to take a trial event, where no data will be taken and use it to try and wind up posters here.

What's made up ? The fact you just got caught spoofing ?

you address the fact that stadiums in Ireland are allowed a couple of hundred as "open" but the euros etc are considered closed.....

No way making anything up, you were caught bull****ting. End of

And yes I know - something something - Ireland - Worst in the World - But the Euros - Tony - Shakes fist !

    And talking of Portugal ...

Having all the systems in place to enable a European requirement for the green pass is not progress on relaxation of restrictions?
