The Irish run rate was 3.31 and the Dutch strolled to victory with 4.1 overs to spare...

If that was a four day game that’s still seriously slow..seriously crap. They hammered us.

After a solid start by England, they've lost three quick wickets including Root which is never a good thing from their batting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,169 ✭✭✭MFPM

England all out for 303 after adding 45 to their overnight score. Broad finally took a wicket as NZ reach 81-1. It seems fairly well poised at the moment..

Good steady progress by NZ. England really could do with a couple of wickets before the end of the day.

England all over the place this morning. Wasting the new ball, NZ showing great application.

Decent comeback by England bowlers to limit NZ lead to 85. England lose two quick wickets...they're up against it here. They need something big from Root.

England on the ropes, 30/3. Root really struggling out there as well.

The Ashes are going to be a slaughter based on what we have seen in these 2 NZ Tests!

Crawley's game had gone to pot...6 months ago England thought they had solved their no. 3 conundrum, it's not looking like it now. Remember NZ are without their batsman and made 6 changes from the first test...

What's happening to England!! Lawrence out 2nd ball he faced. Still 37 behind with 5 down.

Root has used up 42 balls to score 5 runs.

He also wasted a review on Crawley who was absolutely conclusively out!

Would be an innings defeat if NZ didn't squander their first innings.

England deserve to lose for prioritising T20 over test cricket. Stokes and Archer are injured, the rest of the IPL players are playing in the Blast. Buttler, Woakes and Curran should be playing. And for dropping their best bowler at Lord's for a decade old few tweets, putting the mop over their team.

Bracey out now. 6 out, 14 behind.

They had to drop him for those tweets, you can't be taking a stand against discrimination with a player who has tweeted what he did.

Why are Woakes etc not playing ? Jimmy has looked his age in this match.

As Simon Doull said, Boult played in the IPL, went back to NZ and did 2 weeks hotel quarantine, had a week and a half with his wife, then headed to the UK and went through whatever isolation process over there before playing. Meanwhile, the England IPL players are nowhere to be seen.

I'd say that was one of the most painful innings Root has ever played. Probably happy to be put out of his misery.

Roots 11 runs took 61 balls. A strike rate of 18.03... he looked like he couldn’t have hit a watermelon. Bang out of nick.

Didn’t think I’d ever see the day where a world class batsman of Joes competency and ability would play an entire innings doing his best impression of a tail ender.

    England effectively 36/9...Terrible batting performance.

Yep, if I’m England team manager.". If a player passes up the opportunity to play for his country and go off chasing the rupee then as far as I’d be concerned, he has announced his retirement...

I’m surprised regarding the very limp wristed stance the ECB have taken. If you are an international.. ie. representing and playing FOR your country then you are available and you play... go to the IPL but have an arrangement that releases you for international tests.

Good win for NZ. Hard to believe it's so long since they've won a series in England.

New Zealand looking in great shape for the final. Best possible preparation, very lucky the way the schedule worked for them. BCCI have clips of the Indian team playing and training at the Ageas Bowl. It's the ground for the final and will be a good standard but can't match two proper games.

Hopefully, it's a great game - definitely the best two test sides at the moment, I've a lot of time for India and they've some squad of players but I do hope NZ win.

England are in for a retched few months. I can't see them Beating India, they may win a test but that's it. And the winter in Australia could be brutal too if a team with no confidence get to a bad start at the gabba.

The ECB will be running out of scapegoats at that stage. Root will be on the chopping block as captain

Maybe England should send their woman's team to Australia, they seem to have much more resolve than their male counterparts as evidenced in the first innings of their test against India.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,734 ✭✭✭✭Inquitus

Indian Women are going great guns at the moment 154 for 0 wickets off just 46.0 overs, chasing England's first innings of 396 for 9 wickets declared.

    2 costly drops though - Mandhana dropped on 23 & 51

Bit of an Indian collapse 183 for 5 now, a bunch of wickets have fallen in quick succession!

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,033 ✭✭✭✭Richard Hillman

Looks like the Inaugural WTC final match will be a washout, even with the added day

India women, a collapse of epic proportions. 9/6 during last 10 overs.
    167/0 to 187/7

I think the rain is expected at Bristol soon.
