Sri Lanka now getting to the lower order. Its all being set up for Shannon Gabriel to hold the Fort at the end :D

Didn't realise the game was being streamed on YouTube

India are just finished their innings, 336/6, how is Tom Curran playing International cricket? Donated a few again. The too many all rounders England strategy is always tested with this kind of total, a glory boy slogging 20 won't make any impression. Its a good strategy if you are chasing 240 or 250, but the England team have too many bits and pieces players

England flying in reply 152/1 with 27.2 overs remaining. Notwithstanding a similar situation in the first match this should be a relatively easy get from this position.

Curren has played in all formats of international cricket...

    Matches : 55

    Innings : 31

    Top score 47*

His best bowling and his only 5 wicket match 5/35.

That’s piss poor from Stokes, but probably the correct decision with not out given on the field. He got lucky there.

Id back England from here with 9 wickets in hand.

If I’m the umpire I’m getting in Kohlis ear, not on these three minute meetings with bowler after the ball disappears over the fence... some feedback for the bowler fine, but this is so obviously just to take the momentum away from England.. not within the spirit of the game but no surprise with Kohli.

Stokes out for 99, England 285/2 off 35.2 overs, 17 sixes between Stokes and Bairstow

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,808 ✭✭✭Mysterypunter

287-4 now, and the wobble has begun, they lost the first game from 135/0, so it's possible to lose from here

I didn't know his numbers, just every time I watch England he is either getting hit, or getting cheap wickets from someone slogging him up in the air, he never bowls an over where there is not at least one free go for the batsman. England have got to 317/4 now, just 20 away

It's Plunkett they're trying to replace. Good luck with that. Topley is a great asset if can remain injury free. He's as tall as Jamieson, not as wide in the shoulders so doesn't look as big. That's what makes Jamieson so intimidating looking. Still only 27 too. It was poor by Buttler to not give him his ten overs.

Another series decider then. Happy to see England win over India's park the bus approach. Plodding along for 40 overs and exploding then with wickets in hand is not as exciting to watch.

Chasing down 337 with 6.3 overs to spare, some going. And 6 wickets remaining too, savage going. Literally the talent in the sport especially in the one day format is higher then any time in the history of the sport... if they needed to bat the 50 they’d have been up to or over 400.. not too long since a one day International side we’re home and dry almost with 310/320 scored... hitting 6’s for fun.

Impressive by the English but they need to get their test side back on track too... see how they get on vs India this summer.

Really looking forward to that series. India's bowlers are more suited to England than the other way round. England are very difficult to beat at home. They don't dominate like India and NZ do but they find a way.

3rd ODI and series decider. India got off to a hood start but Rashid and Ali pulling it back for England, Kohli and Dhawan giving wickets away.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,170 ✭✭✭MFPM

Rahul thought that he'd take the bad look of Kohli and Dhawan by getting out of a full toss!

India fell away there towards the end, not batting out all the balls is unforgivable at this level. terrible first over by Bhuvenshwar but redeemed himself with the last ball, bowling Roy. Eng 14/1 - Target 330.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,934 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

An eventful first over, 14 runs, some great striking, indifferent bowling but at the tail of the over an unplayable delivery to remove Roy who looked in great touch...

330 sounds like a decent score, 10 years ago yes but only 6.6 runs per over needed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,170 ✭✭✭MFPM

No Bairstow heroics today, gone for 1.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,934 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Courtesy of the great start England can afford an over or three for Malan to play himself in, ahead of the rate from the get go, by a margin. A boundary per over and just tick along.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,934 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

6.6 runs per over required now...England keep wickets intact they’ll win... four down and India know they break this partnership it’s really going to be close.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,170 ✭✭✭MFPM

With England's key batsmen out this is a great chance for India...

    Livingstone out now...

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,934 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Key batsmen out and Livingston just gone courtesy of a shockingly poor shot, Devon Malcolm would have been distraught if he’d played that shot , it’s about even steven... thing that is in England’s favor is the required run rate is very manageable so risks aren’t required, 4’s or 6’s aren’t required it’s just over a run a ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,170 ✭✭✭MFPM

Malan gone now. Unlike the 2nd ODI no one has gone on to make a big score. Should be India from here to make a clean sweep in all three formats.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,934 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

They might be 7 down but at least England have engineered a position where they only need just a small percentage over a run a ball.

Keep rotating the strike, 1’s and 2’s and punishing the odd bad ball like that one smashed for 4... English win. 7 down though, need to have savvy discipline and shot selection. Rashid is doing great so far... Curran too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,934 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Loose shot from Rashid. He bottled a short wide long hop the previous over that was asking to be cut and smacked for a boundary but he maybe thinking he missed out and tried to compensate.

    Tremendous catch by Kohli though.

Think Curran will need to put the foot down, Wood doesn’t have much in the way of shots or stay ability .

Anti corruption unit of the ICC should be all over this, smell off it

    India match fixing, blindingly obvious

You'd need to expand on that to make the allegation.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,170 ✭✭✭MFPM

Excellent last over by Natarajan. India really poor in the last ten overs or so poor fielding and bowling. Not sure what Curran was at passing up so many singles...the sniggering by Gough etc in the talksport commentary was something to behold so chuffed India held on in the end!

Could be spot fixing, but Natarajan bowled a lot of no balls in the Australia series, and the tamil nadu region has a bad reputation in their T20 Premier league, not the whole team, but in the home of match fixing, it's not a wild allegation, watching today some suspicious things happened, so although it is difficult to make allegations, I might just leave it at looked suspicious. There is a certain level of form there though.
