Finished the ME 2 suicide mission and managed to save everyone. Did the Shadow Broker afterwards and just have the arrival dlc left before moving onto ME 3.

The game is as good as I remember, and I really do hope the capture the magic again with the new one.

You do Shadow Broker after the campaign? Interesting, I always used to do it 3/4 way through the story. May change it this time to see if there is any new dialogue.

It’s usually the last thing I do in Ilium so yea I finish it at about the same point as yourself, I think it fits more naturally there.

Only reason I do it that way, as that was the way I did it originally (as the DLC was released a while after). I don't think the dialogue is different, but then I never did it before the suicide mission.

I know the Romance options are down to the player's personal choice, but I feel like Shepard and Liara are the ideal match, so in my head cannon, Shepard and Liara is the love story of the Mass Effect series.

The reason I believe this is, in Mass Effect Liara takes a great interest in Commander Shepard. Some one would say it has to do with the prothean cipher in Shepard's head and because of her interest in the protheans, but looking at her interactions with Shepard during the course of Mass Effect, she seems have a crush on him but due to her awkwardness is unable to express her true feelings for him, unless Shepard takes the initiative and engages a romance with her. Of course, there's also the chance to romance Ashley/Kaiden, so you could say they also has feelings for Shepard too, but Ashley's views could possibly conflict with Shepards. I still think Liara is better suited to Shepard though.

In Mass Effect 2, it is revealed that Liara went to great lengths to recover Shepard's body and was partly responsible for his resurrection. While most of the original crew of the Normandy probably would have done the same for Shepard, Liara was the one who actively pursued him and succeded in her mission. By this point now, Liara is much more confident and her relationship with Shepard seems to be deeper. While you only have small interactiosns with Wrex and Ashley/Kaiden, with Liara you share a personal moment with her if you do the Shadow Broker mission.

In Mass Effect 3, much like the other two games, Liara and Shepard are still very close with one another. There's not much else to say but if you aren't in a romance with Garrus or Tali, they they will start a relationship with each other which also tells me that Garrus and Tali are meant to be together, so in my head cannon, Garrus and Tali are also a love story. Ashley and Vega also hook up too. That would only leave Liara as the sole romance option on the Normandy (Not counting the older crew members). I've often thought that maybe Liara would hook up with Javik but there's no real indication if the two would ever romance. Javik is too consumed by his vengeance, and Liara only seems interested in him because he's the last living prothean.

Finally, the fact that Liara can romance both Male and Female Shepard gives the perfect excuse for the two hooking up, because Liara has no qualms about dating either Shapard. Most of the other crew members are straight so dating them is really down to personal preference, but Liara can go either way so the player does not feel restricted by choice regardless of gender.

So yeah, I'm totally digging Shepard/Liara love story, although I'm still going to go with Miranda in ME2.

Why oh why did I get impatient about two months ago and blast through the original first game while waiting for this.

Struggling to replay it now so soon!!

I went with FemShep/Liara in ME1. I was thinking about cheating on her with Jack in ME2 even though that goes against my mostly pure paragon run. But then I read Jack isn't romanceable with FemShep, which seemed odd to me. I read that there was "controversy" with Fox News' coverage of the game at the initial release which made them scrap Jack as a FemShep romance.

I’d like to use something like that but it takes me out of the game too much.

I used to use terminus or dragon age armour in my previous playthroughs but this one has been strictly N7 with just some individual pieces upgraded. I think start ME 1, i just wanted to keep the N7 but i didn't find any Onyx (i think that was the n7 stuff anyway) that offered anywhere close to the protection of the others so i wanted to keep n7 as much as possible in ME2. Playing on normal meant i didn't have to worry about armour anyway which helped.

I can't wear any armour with a helmet, it annoys me too much. The most I'll wear is the Kuwashii visor.

There's a checkbox that turns off helmets in cutscenes.

Where? All I see in gameplay options is; difficulty, auto level up, squad power usage, subtitles and autosave.

I think only 3 lets you do that?

I'm fairly sure I've seen that setting as well but I'm not into 3 yet. Maybe it's at the launcher menu settings? When you have to choose which game to start, the options there are different to the ingame ones

Players can hide their helmets in Mass Effect 2 by visiting the Captain’s Cabin, located aboard the Normandy SR-2. Navigate to the top level of Commander Shepard’s spaceship, then interact with the Armor Locker to access the hide helmet option in Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

Finished 1 last night,it's so bogged down with the mako and just the general jank. Narrative is decent if a little long winded sometimes.

The completionist trophy dropped so I reckon that's the one and only time I'll ever play through ME1. Especially since i see you can change class in the sequel.

What classes did people pick in the 2nd game? I want to depart from pure soldier and do some biotics but don't want to be super limited with guns.

I picked vanguard to try the first few missions but I'm not sure

I want with combat engineer. Drones are a little underwhelming. Going to work in my hacking and see what that brings.

Probably the more underdeveloped of the classes to be honest.

It wasn't until they started iterating on them for ME3 that they started coming up with more interesting skillsets for the tech oriented classes, and added ability combos.

Just did the suicide mission and
Mordin died on me, forgot about the blasted team score as i sent Grunt to escort the crew and kept Garrus on my team. **** this, not missing one of the greatest scenes in ME 3, reload this bastard.

    The Completionist
ME1: Complete the majority of the game is a balls a trophy, I missed a load quests, don't think I could be bothered going back and playing again.

ME 2 platinum in the bag, just finished Arrival DLC and ready to move onto ME 3. 22 hours playtime in 2 and enjoyed every minute.

Roll on 3 and really looking forward to the dlc i never played, Omega, Leviathan and the one thing I've be looking forward to most, Citadel dlc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,408 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Mordin is such a fantastic character. For me, the genophage stuff is one of the best side plots in gaming.

Edit: Citadel is an absolute joy. A real love letter to send the series off.

Finished 2 last night as well, with all the DLC. Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival are pretty damn good, and really set up ME3. Love the game, but i think i preffered ME1 overall, even though ME2 is the better game. I do love the actual suicide mission, and picking the right people for the various tasks.

Looking forward to getting stuck into 3 now.

Thank god they give you another weapon choice in ME:2 about midway through the game. I chose Sentinel and i am not a fan of the Heavy Pistol so getting an Assault Rifle completely changed the game for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,453 ✭✭✭fixXxer

Scanning it quite chill. Not a fan of the fuel system. Surely I have someone who can swipe the company credit card for me. The duo in engineering are fun. They remind me of Fitz/Simmons in agents of shield.

I modded in the ability to use any weapon in ME2. Also hated the pistol, and didn't fancy being stuck with it for the whole game. I know the SMG is great (specifically the Kasumi one), but i like more options.

I forgot how great ME 3 was to play. The combat, biotics, weapons, movement and the gorgeous backgrounds. That mixed with imminent danger is just perfect.

I picked the Vanguard and it's hands down the best class of all 3 games. Biotic charge, stable AR and quick biotics on command from teammates make combat a pure joy. The weight mechanic helps as i only use AR and Pistol so my biotics charge really quick.

It also helped i started with like 40 skill points to use from importing my previous Shep

Im sure someone has already asked this many times but..... Is it worth picking this up and playing if you have already played the games previously?

Now I didn't play the first game so that aside but two and three i played years ago and actually really enjoyed!

So I haven't really looked into many reviews or what's changed but I am tempted to start over and play them all again. Is it worth it though ? Do the three games hold up have they aged well? Has much been changed in the remasters themselves?
