Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There seems to be a lag in North Dublin - I don't think I've seen anyone in their 40s got an appointment for the Helix yet? (although admittedly I did skip a few pages while catching up!)

Amazing how quick this has all come. To think that these vaccines were only a pipe dream ~6 months ago and it i'll be in our arms soon, if we choose. Love Science, Engineering, Research, Education!

Thanks, looks like just a few days before the “younger” 48 year old (e.g. born in 1973) in the citywest catchment area get a call

I’ve put this in the main thread but it’s probably worth putting here too.

For those asking about slow vaccine rollout in Drogheda:

Labour's @geraldnash told Dáil that HSE is sending 10,000 extra J&J jabs to Louth/East Meath, set to be issued by middle of next week.

Some of those registered as long ago as mid-April, and 1,000 of them are over-60

Think so too. The Helix are down to 50's today. But hopefully get down through the late 40's soon.....

They seem to have a huge catchment area all north county Dublin inc Sutton / Howth and I know someone from Ashbourne who was sent there !

Vaccination drive-thru in Cork. This would be one way to speed up appointments!

They also have 60s group for 2nd Pfizer Shot to get through as well as the 50s first shot.

Yes, as far as I know. I rang the HSE helpline for the third time now and cancelled my Louth/Meath registration on the portal so that I could have a registration with Dublin postcode. I’m hoping that this goes quicker. I’m waiting 3 weeks also. The guy on the helpline had to get permission from a supervisor to do this.

I’m thrilled with my re registration. I’ve now got an appointment in Dublin

MVC: Dublin Helix (should have been Drogheda)
    Age: 55

    Congrats BTW :)

I never had an appointment! I had rang the helpline 3 times before eventually, they agreed to reregister me to Dublin. I’d had no appointment despite my file being marked ‘escalated’, ‘urgent’ and compromised immunity.

Any lag now is most likely the 2nd AZ dose for HCWs.

From a quick scan of the last few pages and re: the 45-49 Cohort, it seems to be:
    • Dublin: almost always Pfizer
    • Outside Dublin: 50/50 chance of Pfizer or Moderna

Well maybe not 50/50, but Moderna seems to be a mostly outside Dublin thing for this age group

150+ no shows everyday in the Helix. There is some sort of backup list but how it works nobody knows. A mad scramble there after 4pm every day.

You'd wonder why go to the bother of registering if you have no intention of showing up.

At some point you’d think that the backup list will become very short indeed.

If you are registered,go down to your nearest centre after 4pm and ask
It works a lot of the time
I also know of cases where partners have turned up and one's appointment is 2 days later but they've done both if there are no show's
My advice is to politely ask
If you want jaansens 1 shot and done, you could go down on a day thats being given and see if you can fill in for no shows

Id put a lot of these down to the fact that many don't receive the text & don't know that they have an appointment

I’d suspect that there are also people who registered and were waiting on doctors to call. See which came first.

And there's a lot who may have been offered a vaccine brand that they don't want
