ICU was 93 this morning. 11:30am update has it at 92 with 4 admissions and 6 discharges. Should be not be at 91?

I know the other way normally signifies a death but any reason why there would be more in ICU than figures document?

Tomás Ryan ISAG back on Claire Byrne radio, no questions on leaked emails on their questionable strategies and agenda driven approach?

the completely unsubstantiated leaked email accusation in a far right news source?

Moderna is supposed to deliver 1.65 million doses by the end of the year, they really need to up their game.

Moderna completely funded by operation WarpSpeed - they will not provide significant volumes ex-US until they meet the US obligations

Could be someone already in ICU tested positive.

Here's a press releases from them from a few weeks back.

And Dolly Parton (serious check https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/nov/17/dolly-parton-partly-funded-moderna-covid-vaccine-research)

Any Moderna shipped outside the US was made outside the US.

Ireland did NOT opt to buy more when the EU offered a chance to do so for deliveries late in 2021 that will come back to haunt us as Moderna works and can be tweaked quickly to address any variants which get past the original. Germany grabbed every dose going in the second round of 80 million that others didn't sign up for

I think before someone had suggested that they're included as "admissions", but there are a couple of instances like this. Cross-infection in ICU is the only explanation I can think of for the difference.

Are Ireland entitled to go and buy extra doses themselves or under EU rules are they not allowed go behind the EUs back and therefore sparking a bidding war (and Ireland would lose out)

but for vaccines such as the Russian vaccine, could Ireland simply go and order doses of this if the EU are not buying it

Does anyone have a figure of how many doses are order for Ireland currently?

My dentist told me that he got his second dose last week, which was comforting. Honestly dentists must be nearly the highest risk HCW apart from those working directly with covid positive patients. You're literally leaning into someone's unmasked mouth all day long.

Is there a ballpark date for when 75-80 year olds will be offered the vaccine?

There was some substantiation, one of the valid email recipients was quoted saying she didn't agree with the tactics, also Scally was given the chance to comment but declined. The government also dropped Scally from the cervical check review days later. Don't need a calculator to work this one out. A right-wing news source, yes. Far-right? I dunno about that.

My mother (75) has an appointment for 18th March. I'm delighted!

If the vaccine suppliers were painters Pfizer is the one with the team who gives you a date, shows up as promised and does very clean work. Moderna is a one man band who does good work but can't say when he'll get there and AZ is run by a brickie who has a cousin and some mates who do the painting!

Sputnik: Foreign guys, will do the job cheaper, will work any time, but the Mrs doesn't trust them in the house because of where they are from.

From what they were flagging its not surprising. Maybe slightly longer than say 4 or 5 weeks but dont think they were ever going to make drastic changes unfortunately.

A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center after which he noticed blurred vision on the way home.

When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor or be hospitalized.

He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital.

Just to return to the vaccination center immediately and pick up his glasses!

    (joke doing the rounds)

FFS they're really pushing the boat out even further

The next review won't be for 2 months the way they're going

That's 6 more weeks of level 5 from Easter to Mid May

SFA all change in over 5 months with non even non essential retail opening by May

That's utterly grim as they will go to level 4 then in mid May which is effectively nothing extra and this will probably last until mid June. Looks like it will be mid June before we can enjoy sitting on the street in Dublin outside a restaurant surrounded by junkies and scrotes on electric bikes. Meaningful summer!

If they're using 6 weeks from Easter to Mid May you can be sure they'll use 6 weeks from Mid May to the End of June

Conveniently synching with the end of Q2

They're really giving nothing to look forward to at all

We're now looking at no changes of note being discussed for another 11 weeks, 9 weeks into our current level 5 lockdown. That's utterly mental

    Cheer up people.

There were 2,699 vaccines given out on Sunday.

    We're nearly there!

Sam McConkey only wanted 5 weeks inbetween looking at restrictions and I thought that was daft

We've gone from a painfully slow 3 weeks last year to a month this year from March 5th to April 5th to now 6 weeks

Double the time last year with vaccinations happening

This is going to lose compliance from a hell of a lot of people

We'll now have 5 months + of SFA difference made from January to Mid May bar possibly meeting outdoors

That's for those without kids or in the construction industry
