Why can't they try to obtain vaccines outside the EU allocation like other EU countries have done, the vaccines are the solution, not stop/start lockdowns.

No mention of the UK variant in the UK speech yesterday.

There is going to be a drop in compliance after this. The people have had enough.

    Load of rubbish.

So schools opening in a phased way, and childcare. That's good. Resumption of non-covid care is also good.

But otherwise absolutely nothing changes. Industries still being decimated. People still being isolated.

Surely they could have allowed people to meet a household outside for social activity? Just one? Id kill to meet my friend for a walk but I can't because I live with someone else :/

    Variant, variant, variant.

Nothing about the next potential variant though that we are not going to try to keep out.

If the transmission of the virus reaches acceptable levels, the vaccination programme progresses as planned and public health advice allows, further options that will be considered from 5 April are:

some easing of restrictions on outdoor activities and meetings beyond 1 other household
consideration of extending the current 5km limit
staggered start of easing of other areas of restriction with a focus on outdoor activities including sport and some areas of construction
Any further easing of restrictions after 5 April will need a further three to four week period to allow for assessment of the impact of changes

Not a lot to look forward after April anyway...

"The new plan is essentially we have no plan for the next six weeks".

Watch utterly fed up people openly disregard it, and who could blame them.

How do you think this would work globally if all countries took this approach?

The UK variant is like a new virus. What kind of irresponsible fearmongering is this?

Maybe it did team up with Ebola

When we have the vulnerable between 18-65 we should be opened up right afterwards.

"The new plan is essentially we have no plan for the next six weeks".
No, it is a new plan - that it is identical to the old plan is purely coincidental!

This is a complete cop out. After the level of sacrifice that the public have already given, and the level of sacrifice that they expect us to keep giving, this is just not good enough

There is a vaccine for everyone in the audience

    What?
    Enough is enough.
We can't stay in lockdown for another few weeks.

Even the main UK restrictions aren't up for change until April. What we can or can't do is not informed by those having tantrums or anyone thinking that being asked to work with everyone else is somehow 'sacrifice'

    Very good speech so far

Streets ahead of “influencer” Leo with his cringe worthy movie quotes.

Ah Michael, I'm not frustrated waiting for a vaccine or the 5k or the fact I was out of work for 6 months.

I'm frustrated that your government have done a pisspoor job over the last 3 months in particular and continue to make a balls of it.

    Well that was ****e.
