In fairness for what it is its a great spec and looks lovely, he wouldn’t be a million miles off with that price assuming theres room for negotiation. Full respray done and new NCT too

Sold my sport 1.8 turbo petrol for €1600 before my current car.
A lot higher spec than that one inside.
Only got one caller after about a month of it being up for sale.
Buyer couldn't believe the car he was getting for small money.
I'd have kept only it would be rotting away out in the yard still.

I never understand why people don't put the mileage on the ad. Surely its the first thing anyone will ask on the phone.

The car does look well, but A4s are so common, it's a buyers market.

Jesus some prices on those last two cars. Old does not equal expensive. You would want to be really into Golf's to buy that GTi at that price. And then the Mx5 looks kinda a bargain compared to the GTi but it's no bargain.

If you know their background you’ll understand why running €20k through the books for something that cost them a lot less would make sense.

Not sure if new owner needs to satisfy Gardai that it will be used commercially before he can tax it though and that’s easy enough.

A RAV4 is way too small to ever have legitimately qualified as a crewcab.
Paper never refused ink, and there were plenty dodgy SQIs only too happy to lie.
It’s beyond belief that these declarations weren’t even audited at the time.

The loopholes were there. Plenty of Kugas, Santa Fe’s etc driving around with legitimate commercial tax on them although usually with centre rear seatbelt removed and plated as a 4 seater.
There was a time when you could legitimately “crewcab” the likes of a Supra etc.
So, to the original point, the Rav does not have dodgy tax but new owner needs to get RF111A stamped by Gardai and submitted to tax office.
Been there, done that.

You are correct. My bad, so many loopholes in that legislation anyway. Supposedly closed in late 2016 and all crewcabs had to come directly from manufacturers to qualify but I’ve heard conversion firms have found a a way around that now as well.
