I just factory reset after the update. You can choose not to wipe photos etc and now it feels like a new phone again..

Anyone having trouble with it not dash charging? Have tried a combo of about five different cables and adapters.

Not really but it does act up some times. When I first got the phone it would dash charge nearly instantly after plugging in the USB connection now sometimes it would take a good few second some times longer and other times a few short seconds after plugging in(that's a bit rare now though).

Try removing dust from the charging port.

Happened to me once with 3T. Couldnt figure out, contacted oneplus and sent for repair.

They basically cleaned the port and sent it back, in about 4 days in total.

If it still doenst work, contact oneplus. They are usually good at the support.

Dash charging only works with the original cable and charger.

While that's not true, I perhaps should have clarified that every cable and charger I've used has been from OnePlus.

Apologies, I meant official OnePlus charger. Hope you get it sorted..

Can anyone confirm if hotspot / WiFi tethering is still working under the latest update?

Everytime I enable it using 5ghz it disables itself after 5-10 seconds, if I use 2.4ghz then it stays on but no device can connect.

Rebooted, reset network settings and cache already and used a different SIM from a different provider already.

Cant say i have had that issue.

One issue i am having is Whatsapp randomly hanging when trying to attach pictures to messages. I can get around it by sharing from the galley app.
Assuming its more of a Whatsapp issue???

Just tested mine. 2.4 works no problem, but 5 disables itself after just 3 seconds, even with the "auto disable" function turned off.

Are you on Vodafone prepay? As far as I can tell mine is now defaulting to the hs apn for tethering since the update thus it is being charged. It was using the live apn before that and there is no way of deleting apn settings since android 8.

Mine is the same since the update. 2.4 works but 5 disconnects after 3 seconds.

Having th same issue with WhatsApp too, only since the update, have to restart the phone to get it working. Doesn't happen with every message either.

Anybody else having problems with their bluetooth earphones since the update?

I've tried all the usual, off/on (both), forget/reboot/re-connect to no avail. I'm still hearing we're connected, but no audio through.

Tested the 'phones on the laptop, all is grand.

Fingerprint sensor gone to shìte since update.
Starts with saying finger moved too fast(while finger still on sensor) every now and again to eventually not working.

Have had to wipe the cache and reboot a few times now to fix it.

I was having some issue as well, just deleted out the previously registered fings prints and registered them again. Seems to work much better now.

I'm having a bad few years with breaking phones so budget only at the moment.

Was going to get the redmi note 9 pro for 240, but saw the oneplus 6t for 320 on eu global central.

Would your positive experiences warrant the extra 100 quid!?

I have the 6 non t variant and have no issues with it. Brilliant phone so I assume the 6t would be pretty much the same experience. Only downside I can see from this phone I have is it is no 5G capable.

I'd spend the extra and get the 8 for 499. The 6T is a great phone, but I think 320 is pricey at this stage. Do they have any deals on the 7 or 7t?

Check your port isn't full of lint or dirt. Happens me every 6 months or so. I just use a toothpick to scrape it out.

Anyone having network signal issues with their 6t on 48? All other phones in the house connect fine but it barely gets a bar and most often no signal ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,145 ✭✭✭gar

Anyone still using the 6T? Mine driving me mad with battery and messages saying system UI stop or wait.

Just me? Very close to looking at changing

I'm still rocking a 6. Since the last update to Android 11 and which was the last ever update the 6 will get, battery life has been atrocious compared to previous Android 10. It was the same back when we were first updated to 10 but all the other updates after helped but since I will get no more updates it will just have to stay the same until I upgrade.
