Also, no symptom = no case.

This nonsense of counting people as 'cases', splashing it as a headline and using it to justify lockdowns, needs to stop immediately.

Since June all decisions should have been based solely on hospital admissions from Covid only.

Not this bull**** case numbers from asymptomatic cases in the main.

It’s time to close all test centres and get on with life. We all had no worries about this last December January February when it was floating around the island.

It’s gone to extreme levels of overreaction and people are fearful beyond belief.

The kite flying is under way .
On the news this morning .... Government considering letting all pubs open until 10 pm from December .

How has the sindo been able to get screenshots of text messages between Dr Death and the Minister of Health?

I stated I was 'suspicious' of it - throwing the idea out there. There can be no clear reason as to why our Government would allow some Doctor in an advisory group play Taoiseach/President on a daily basis.
By the way, 'this is the Restrictions thread' is exactly where this debate belongs - as we're discussing what Restrictions will be relaxed/maintained. The days of labelling people calling for Restrictions to be reduced with insults e.g. Tin hatters, right wingers / Gemma O'Doherty's are long gone - unless you want to label most of the Irish population that is.

    Leo leaked it, obviously.

Cervical Tony's position is completely untenable if he's leaking bloody text message conversations with the Minister for Health to the public.

In certain areas, others will have less restrictions. Pubs will be open.

Nice to see someone post this underneath it, it's a pity boards mods have deemed it a conspiracy theory...

Spoken by a frequenter of the main thread, which has jackboots calling for the army to break into houses and detain people

Tony's messages are on the left of the screen. Surely that screenshot was taken from his phone?

NPHET covering their backs with these leaks? Saying they had let the minister know a day in advance

Guys it's taken from Donnelly's phone. His messages are on the right, received from the left.

Why has Tony identified himself twice in the 1st message

I just read the full article - it seems that’s what Dr Holohan is ‘thinking’ but the Government are thinking differently. Will we have the media vilifying the Government ‘for going against NPHET’ once again? This could get very messy. Especially with members of NPHET and also the Nutty Professor group (McConkey, Killeen, Ryan, Staines, Scally) constantly on the airwaves and social media platforms hounding us with lockdown, Zero Covid and other unachievable nonsense.

Why are the media - the Indo in this case - not investigating the overall effectivness of lockdowns - given cases have stabilised. , the second wave is not as fatal as first - and the massive impact lockdown is having on society - the mental toll is horrific on our society and the Indo are focussing yet again on another leak on who said what 2 months ago , rather than the need and impact of the longest lockdown in Europe, while thousands of citizens are suffering from other serious and life threatening issues.

That doesn't prove Donnelly knew what the Tony was going to pull the following day.

I think you're right. Still, there's a serious lack of trust and statesmanship for him to be leaking private SMS messages to the media.

My Mum still identifies herself in text messages to me. The sender is on the left at least on my phone anyway. Its Donnelly's phone.

It should be based on from Covid, not with Covid, agree with everything else you said.

The entire country was brought to L5 in late October with just over 300 people in hospital with Covid. As we are subsequently discovering, the majority of these 300, contracted the virus when they were in hospital from some other cause. It would appear, that we threw the economy off a cliff with about 60 people in hospital from Covid.

For context, this is about 0.001% of the population.

When are the mainstream media going to start questioning this? We are pissing through €20billion a month(!!!) on an extreme overreaction to a mild virus and putting way more people at risk from a health service that will be underfunded for years, if not decades to come.

I'm angry as hell about this and there needs to be more anger.

I encourage everyone to email their local TDs about what is being allowed to happen to our country - people need to start standing up to this.

The positioning of send and received messages is dependent on application used.

Did I miss where the application used in this instance is clearly shown?

It's an iphone. You can tell by the date stamp.

Why would Donnely leak the message exchange - cant see anything to be gained for him - not sure why in fact anyone would leak this , not sure how the Indo got it ?

It shows he's didn't know Tony was going to call a level 5, he could not have had any idea just from that text.

It would appear, that we threw the economy off a cliff with about 60 people in hospital from Covid.

Remember, a lot of those 60 admissions wouldn't have known they even had covid either. They'll have arrived at hospital for something else and then been tested.

You're probably looking at something more like 40 who went to hospital because of Covid.
