Needed a car for a few months..... (My Pajero was off the road getting welding done)

Always loved that shape S Class (Eventually want a W220 S500) Bought one with tax and test because why not? (It was a toss up between this and an ST150 Fiesta)

Still driving it daily, If it sells it sells if not there'll be a fresh NCT on it in Jan to make it an easier sell and I get to enjoy an S Class for another few months. :)

Come bring a mechanic, I'll even organise a lift if you want to view it.
Ah thanks for the update. I typically tend to be cagey when someone is selling on a car privately that they bought in the not too distant past. I assume buyers remorse at best or more likely hidden issues at worst.

I wasn't asking for myself as unfortunately I would not be in a position to run a S Class anytime soon, was more asking for the sake of transparency for any would be buyers out there keeping an eye on the thread.

The S Class and an Fiesta ST150 would be very very different cars. Best of luck with the sale and hopefully you don't get too many texts from "best price?, cash today" sort merchants.

Tax must make it more or less sale proof in RoI

Shurley must need to be sold into N.I. / U.K. before end Dec ?

A shame its come to this

    Anyway.

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ford-focus-1-4-lx-nct-12-21-tax-12-20/26509074?campaign=3
    2003 Focus 1.4 5dr;
    115k miles;
    Tested until 12/21
    Asking €795

These wouldn't be my first choice of car. Sluggish and heavy on juice but I would drive it and ideal for someone doing small local mileage who want something cheap and ready to go, with a dollop of tax, without having to worry about test for a good long spell.

Focus 1.4 is also very easy to insure, at least in my experience

Yeah was a bit of an odd decision, Although my daily is a '94 Pajero 2800 so I like a bit of everything.

Swaps so far have included a Mk2 Focus, Seat Alahambra, 2006 Merc C180, Vauxhall Omega (Which to be fair was nice but only a 2.0) and others that iv forgotten....

Thats not to mention the number of you tell me best price, Will you take €1000? And the multiple texts and donedeal messages just stating €2000.

There's a bit of movement on price..... If your standing in front of me having viewed the car. :)

Duke O Smiley would go mad for it I’d say.

Yeah, i was laughing as he trashed it down the welsh byroads at 6500rpm, and he wondered why there there were clouds of blue smoke the next day!

    its peak hubnut, in fairness.

I probably wouldn't mention the clutch, personally. You are talking like it's fooked, when in reality it's driving ok with a bit of chatter and a heavy pedal. It's a ,€900 car.

I'd probably remove everything under "bad points" and replace it with "car driving ok".

Thanks ,I stuck it on Donedeal directly rather than via adverts.ie ahead of weekend asking 799,in the end took 650 for quick sale.Listing to cash in hand approx 50 minutes !!!!

No reg plate showing, no interior pics and it's a manual. But it has a long NCT to 09/21, is a diesel and cost only €950. Looks good in that colour with those alloys. Worth a call.

Nice 1.6 petrol Hyundai for 700 bucks, not sure if it has any tax on it but surely room for a haggle to get it covered for three months over the phone.

Not certain about this exact model but some of the early Noughties (late 90s) Hyundais while they may have improved general reliability had fierce rust on screws and fixings and even brackets .

I’ve had top end Toyotas with nuts/bolts/screws and brackets that were so badly rusted they practically dissolved. It’s the one area all car makers will penny pinch, saving a cent each on billions of fixings saves a lot of money.

They'd all be a bit guilty of that , I'd a Tucson about 5 years ago and she was orange enough underneath, had 2 Elantras back in the noughties, they are solid enough, think 1995 Corolla would be thirsty enough and quite fond of burning oil

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/audi-a4-nct/26574055
    2004 A4 1.9 TDI
    NCT 08/21
    Asking €750

Won't be everyone's cup of tea due to age and many will struggle to get competitive quotations on it but these have their fans on the forum and this one seems to have held up well. These are 4 door, not 5 door as the seller seems to think though.

    2008 Laguna 1.5 dsl
    252k KM
    NCT 05/21
    Asking €900

I would have thought that the top spec model had full leather and can only assume the exterior is less than perfect but that's not what its about in a low tax diesel car in this price range. Eyes wide open and that all the same.

Not a bad looking car in fairness, they're very comfortable. A bit slow and a bit thirsty but if you were just tipping around it would certainly be nicer than a 1 litre bean tin.

    Well
    Challenge here for you
Find a car with similar needs
Saloon with nct and tax a bonus
    Advertiesd no more than €1,500
Needs to be on a southern plate
Engine has to be 2.0 or bigger
Prefer a manual but consider auto
Petrol and no diesels i have a daily
And something a car guy would like to bring for a road trip spin once this lockdown is over.
Yes price is cheap but it is a challenge

Only thing that would tick all of your boxes would be a BMW 525/523.
    Budget is too low.

For sure a larger budget gets better results, but this idea is just me trying to see what options are there to tick all the boxes above . Other than my diesel daily - hatches and coupe petrols are my go to hobby/project car. So far in the saloon search i found this
Edit - just seen rear drivers side damage
