Massive game at the Etihad this weekend even this early on if Liverpool win it'll be a massive blow to City already ,

City have won the last 3 times they have meet there in the league with an aggregate of 11-1 so they will be favourites the weekend ,

Id imagine Liverpool would be happy with a draw ,

Got to be it for Solskjaer this weekend if he loses to Everton. It'd be United's worst ever start to the Premier League, facing into an international break with Pochettino hanging around outside.

Can't remember the last time I wanted a United win so badly.

Surely Everton will do us all a favour and just not win this weekend?

I never thought I'd see the day a Fulham fan would be looking down on United and Arsenal :pac:

The last 3 seasons, this fixture has felt like an almost season deciding fixture. Between them, the clubs were getting pretty much 100 point seasons 4 times and taking points off of the rival in this fixture was one of the very few times that either club was dropping points.

It doesn't feel like this season is another 100 point season and this game is not the only fixture that City will drop points in and it's not the only fixture that Liverpool will drop points in. Other clubs have the ability to take points off both City & Liverpool this season. The congested fixture list helps here too, and big investment in other clubs.

While I do think that is a massive game in terms of direction of the league, I don't think it will decide the direction of the league title. 2018-2019 The game at the Ethiad decided the title as City took 1st place in a game of tiny margins and luck, and the 2019-2020 season was decided at Anfield as Liverpool blew City away and never looked back. If City win this game and their game in hand, they go top of the table, a draw or Liverpool win and Liverpool retain the upper hand. Massive game, but not the end of the title race between the 2 teams like it was in recent seasons IMO.

That table is so unfair because when Liverpool lose they will go to zero and the other teams will have a head start :D

I think Liverpool will really struggle In this one with VVD, Fabhino, Thiago and even Ox to bring on fresh legs late o n ,

    Good finish by Adams.

Must be one the most improved players in the league this season.

Wouldn't rule Newcastle out of this. Southampton have been the far better side but its not like Newcastle ever play that great. Whether they win, lose or draw Newcastle's performances are always around the same level.

    Thank god Southampton won.

    Southampton top of the table.

Hassenhuttl doing a really great job there.

why's the Liverpool thread locked? Is it down for routine maintenance? I didn't see any shennanigans. Presumably we post here in the Liverpool B thread in the iterim?

Hopefully you get a nice two nil win and Ole is given more time.

I've been told he's made some great signings and moved on a lot of deadwood. He even said himself that United would be the hardest working team in the league and would play with a smile on their faces.

About two weeks ago there was plenty of optimistm in the United thread that ye could really push up the table and that Liverpool and City weren't as good this season.

    He just needs more time.

Is he gone if United lose today?

I've been watching CNN for the past three days. It's limboland. Everyone knows Trump's lost but no-one can say it. Trump himself doesn't believe it but it's just a matter of time before the secret service turfs him out of the white house.
    There are certain parallels

Heading into an international break is usually a decent time to make a change in season if you must make one. I hope not but if he's not on very dodgy ground the football hierarchy are madder than I thought.

Utd seem to be better playing on the counter and now they are going to have to be going at Everton who tbh seem very capable themselves and well worth the lead so far.

Tick, Tick it's the Ole Clock...
