Yeah one of those where if he wasn't on a yellow it's probably a booking, but the ref doesn't want to send him off for it.

That was the one on Greenwood and not the one in the box on matic?

As I said earlier, it's so dangerous for the player in the air. I hope there's more made of this and the officials start to ref it. Filthy from Kane.
    100%.

If it's allowed to continue to carry on it's not a case of 'if' a player will be seriously injured.

Cresswell was lucky he could get his hands down in front of him and that bump Lallana took looked a sore one, had he rotated another few degrees he was in serious bother.

There is very little difference between what Kane did yesterday or a couple of weeks ago and what Richarlison did to Thiago in the derby, it was premeditated, extremely dangerous and could result in serious injury if the opposing player was not able to protect themselves before hitting the ground.

Golden boy Harry getting an awful time in here altogether.

Yeah, he's gonna break someone's back soon.

in fairness he had been getting rightly praised for weeks for his assists and goals and all round play.

and now hes getting rightly slated for snide cowardly dangerous play.

    its not undeserved

It's not the first time Kane has done it, and because he 'earned' a penalty from it yesterday, I don't think it will be the last time either.

Up to 35 penalties in a bit under 7 full game weeks. Slowed a bit as expected after they looked at the ridiculous handball rule but still makes up 38% of all penalties in the entirety of last season. Could be a serious final total

Seems only 4 have been missed too

Looked quite clear to me that yer man got the ball. The 2 guys on Supersports I'm watching are saying "clear as day" he didn't get the ball. Kinda bizarre.

I haven’t seen any angle that shows him getting the ball. There’s two very clear angles of him not touching it though. I don’t think there’s any debate it’s a foul. Worst decision of all the really bad ones from Graham Scott.

He'll get a good knee into the spine the next time and he won't be so quick to pull this.

I read there its nearly 2 years Ole is in charge at United. That's astonishing, yesterday proving again he is massively out of his depth. He has one style of play, counter attack, that's it.

    Bang on ,
People praising him for the champions league results, which is fair enough but PSG and Leipzeg must not have watched any footage of United as they both played exactly in to there hands by attacking to freely,

Palace, Chelsea, now Arsenal show if you take away the chance of a counter attack you are pretty safe against United ,

I think Ole is actually getting away with let criticisms than he deserves, they play every home game like they are the away team looking for counter attacks
Its Manchester United where talking about here baffles me how he is still there

Long may it last. I don't think they're winning the league with him.

Interesting that there was a complete lack of commentary ( and rightly so ) on Matic not wearing a poppy when its a Irish player it seems to hit the headlines,

By a couple of his mates in the media maybe, have a look in the United thread and you'll see a lot of criticism.

When he gets it right like PSG/Leipzig he will be rightfully praised but that's not to say clap on the back, he'll lead United to glory. Much like you can criticise a manager without saying you want him out of the club.

Every man and their dog can see Ole is not United standard or a club that should be getting top 4 minimum but realistically, a club who should be challenging for titles year in, year out.

His legendary status at United papers over the cracks for a minority of fans. 100 games into the Ole project and it hasn't worked. Ole is not the only issue as we're aware Glazers/Woodward are issues too but he's the easiest issue to fix right now.

What's his win %? And how does that compare to Mourinho, etc.?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,428 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

It's difficult to compare Mourinho's win % at any club because in year 3 he's trying to get fired

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,668 ✭✭✭✭JPA

The United team does not look well coached, the individual talents of the players will take them so far, but when trying to break down a team they have no clue.

    Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - 56%
    Games: 100
    Wins: 55
    Draws: 21
    Losses: 24

    Jose Mourinho - 62%
    Games: 100
    Wins: 62
    Draws: 23
    Losses: 15

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,894 ✭✭✭Nunu

    So 55% win percentage no?

Losing 1 in 4 is pretty damn awful.

Was thinking van Gaal, Moyes, etc. Just wondering how much better/worse he's doing than them. Obviously there are a lot of other things to take into consideration, I'm just curious.

I’d say he’s fairly even with LVG. But Van Gaal won something. Last season we went out with a whimper in 3 semi finals. That’s a mentality issue. I don’t think he can lead this team to a cup final never mind a league title.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,470 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

If you add in LvG, Ole is better but as Nunu says, he won something.

Both are poor records though for a club with somewhat title aspirations.

    Louis van Gaal - 52%
    Games: 100
    Wins: 52
    Draws: 25
    Losses: 23

Would any current Premier league team give Ole the job as manger if United sacked ?
You'd have to say the answer is no , that tells you all you need to know ,

The thing I look at though when it comes to how good a coach is, is has he improved any of the players?

One of those pointless stats but OGS (at Man Utd) and Steve Bruce (at Newcastle) have lost the same number of home games in the PL.

It is certainly good news but sadly some posters will be disappointed that a player might not be as badly injured as previously thought.

The forums legion of Portsmouth fans aside, who will be disappointed that Danny Ings isn’t badly hurt?
My impression is he’s fairly universally liked and I’ve never seen anyone wish him anything but good will given his injury record

Rashford has improved under him . Martial too.

Would they have improved anyway as they're becoming more mature? Possibly.

Its been said on Sky/BBC etc but you cant see what is he trying to do. If there was a idea he was working towards you could argue for him but hes chopping and changing ideas/formations from game to game.
