Agree. The Lidl one is too dry- and is higher in sulphites than the Aldi one.
I guess thats why I'd much rather drink Prosecco than Champagne.

I saw Marks & Spencer London Dry Gin (Blended) in Liffey Valley, priced to clear at €22 for a 1 litre bottle, down from €31. Reviews are very favourable. The 70cl retails at 15 pounds sterling so €22 for 1 litre with our much higher prices is a great deal. Had a couple last night for tasting purposes and it's nice alright.

There were 3 bottles left on the shelf. Was going to buy all 3 but left 1 for someone else. At the checkout, the till operator swiped a €5 voucher which I never even asked for, leaving me with a bill of €39 for 2 litres of pretty good gin

I had to settle for 1 litre of Paddy which was the same price. Picked up some wine we like which was on special offer as well and used a €10 off voucher. Score.

Got 18 cans for around €25 last weekend in aldi, loads there. Waterford. Those cans seem to hang around for a while , ill see if there is more there tomorrow

Dunnes often does boxes of Hop House bottles for 20 euro.

I picked up slab of Heineken for 14 euro in Tesco yesterday. "Spoiled" goods section is often good for beer. Only thing wrong with this slab was the packaging looked slightly worn. Just wanted to brag about that

Sometimes you get lucky with that got 8 cans of proper Guinness in Tesco last night not that manky stuff with no widget for €8.17! only thing wrong with it was some slight damage on one of the cans.

Both have a good selection tbh

Main range in Lidl is Crafty brewing Co (Rye river valley in Kildare brew it) and I think equivalents in ALDI are Roadworks and Brown bear ranges (Pearse Lyons in Dundalk brew it) and O’Sheas (brewed by Carlow brewing Co)

Both stock other craft beers too

Looks like I’m going to Tesco later. I have two bottles of three swallow in the press already but €30 is just stupidly cheap for such a quality whiskey.

If you haven’t tried this one just go buy it.
