Hmmm.... I tried it just before my last post so around 15:00.

I got the "Contact Us" form (as in your picture) but not the web chat.

Ordered a watch off Aliexpress from China- lastest update was:

    "06 October 2020 08:31

We tried to deliver your post LITTLE ISLAND D.S.U., CO CORK
Reason: There was no answer at the address."

Received a phone call but didn't pick up because it was a private number and thought it was spam so partly my fault in all honesty. Surprisingly I did not receive a "We Missed you Slip" to pick up the package.

What could be going on? Hopefully my package hasn't been lost at this stage.

I used it the other day, asked my question and the guy just closed the session after a minute, without answering it!

This is probably the wrong thread for this, but people here will know the answer.

I ordered something from the US, and according to the tracking, it arrived in Dublin airport on Sunday morning.

How long does it get delayed in the Customs checks before it gets delivered?

I contacted An Post, and they told me that it's probably in customs and that the item doesn't track anymore once it reaches Ireland

"Its in customs" is code for "we don't know nor care".

It may be in customs, it may just be in a cage not yet processed. Extra EU mail has been slow for a while though its improving of late. Give it a week or two (I kid you not).

Customs can hold your parcel as long as they like untill they gauge how much to charge,if anything, untill it's released by customs there ain't a damm thing an post can do with it.

That includes updating its tracking , sometimes it's scanned as received by an post, and customs take it from them while it's sitting in a cage to be delivered,or in a cage waiting to be sorted they can intercept at any point. ,at that stage it shows as received by an post, but is actually with the customs.

The Austrian Post seems to be really slow.

I received a parcel and letter from Austria in May and June. Both took about three weeks. The parcel which had tracking took two weeks just to leave Austria!

In comparison letters from Germany usually take 3-5 days and parcels about a week.

I'm in Cork and waiting on an amazon delivery through an post , its gone from

We have your post in DUBLIN PARCEL HUB, DUBLIN 12

    to

Your delivery has been sorted in DUBLIN PARCEL HUB, DUBLIN 12
    all normal then

Your delivery is in DUNGARVAN, CO WATERFORD , never had a parcel go through Waterford before , is this a new thing for Co. Cork deliveries , worried that Amazon have screwed up the postcode .

    Hi all,
Order a Shark hoover on Amazon via AddressPal. Its on the AnPost track and trace since Saturday and it states 'We have your post in LONDON, HEATHROW TRANSIT HUB'. It is normal for it to take this long to move? I am getting a little worried. In the event the items is lost do they cover it up to a certain amount?

I had Royal Mail deliver something to AddressPal in Hatfield which was signed for on Tuesday morning of this week. Usually receive notification within an hour or two that they received it. It is now three days later and still no notification.

I emailed customer service multiple times and no response after replying once asking for the tracking number.

I called customer service and they told me the system was offline as they are updating it for Brexit etc... Not sure how much truth there was in that.

An Post are an absolute joke recently. I've used them regularly for years and never had any issues. However in the past few weeks they have been terrible. Forget about using Express Post as it never arrives next day. They have no problem charging you for it but when you try to contact customer service it is non existent. Tracking not working or not updating and premium prices for a really poor service as of late. Bar a bog standard letter I'm looking for alternatives for packages and parcels.

Prime day last week + impending lockdown = delays.

I find ordering from UK Amazon through parcel motel gets here quicker, uk delivery to NI is next day, two days at most. And then it's only a matter of hours.

I usually use PM but had no option to this time around via Amazon. My only option was Address Pal, its my first time using them. In fairness the tracker updated overnight so it should be with me today but I find the process quite slowed compared to PM. Not the end of the world either I suppose.

Did you receive this as of yet? I had a parcel from us which is stuck on 'departed transfer airport in Dublin, Ireland on 20th, and that was last update

I spoke to a customer rep from AddressPal who told me that items from the UK only come twice a week on flights, on a Wednesday and a Friday.

Typical half baked AP mindset. If they don't run it regularly people won't use it so then they end up decreasing frequency so less people use it....death spiral.

Nightline can be cowboys *at times* but they visit some Motels thrice in a DAY. It shows.

I presume there was no more updates on the usps tracking once it arrived in Dublin?

Hopefully it arrives early this week.

Nightline/Parcel Motel's customer service is bad but thankfully I haven't had reason to contact them in quite a while. I used to use a combination of PM, PW and AP but I use PM almost exclusively now. I had a few bad experiences with Parcel Wizard where parcels disappeared for a week or two or were supposed to be ready for collection at the shop but weren't there. AddressPal is by far the slowest.

I've received 30 parcels through Parcel Motel this year and only one has taken longer than 24 hours to be stored after it was checked-in. I think there were only one or two times a parcel wasn't checked-in by the next day (two days).

They do tend to have bad delays in the Black Friday to Christmas period so I try to avoid them if possible then.

I had a parcel go missing for over a week now. It was delivered to their Belfast depot on the 13th of October. I contacted PM and they are doing a warehouse search? Have you ever had an issue like this and did the parcel turn up?..

I don't remember anything not showing up for that long. I think 5 or 6 days was probably the longest but that was a few years ago.

I had a Parcel Wizard parcel that didn't show up for 2 or 3 weeks. I had forgotten I ordered it so I never actually contacted them.

Could it be missing your PMID? That seems to be the most common cause of delays. It would seem that I'm the only PM customer with my name as I've had a few parcels arrive without my PMID and there was no delay.

An post still have delays that dont make sense. Had to do an Amazon return to the UK and could only use anpost. Sent Thursday and got an email last night to say they received the package and have refunded me. At the exact same time that Thursday a package was sent to Wicklow and it's still sitting somewhere in Dublin. Really poor service as of late.

I believe Amazon refund once it's scanned as received by An Post, so probably hasn't been physically received at whatever UK centre it was being returned to.

No this one was scanned in the UK. It was a specific UK return which I had to pay for. The tracking shows exactly its route and when it was scanned. I have had other Amazon returns as you describe.

I’ve found An Post to be quite good this year, despite the restrictions. We’ve ordered a lot of stuff from UK and its taking the same amount of time as it always has done. Stuff from Europe is very slow (it was always slow, but now deliveries from Italy or Spain are taking up to a month) but that isn’t the fault of An Post

I had an Amazon order due yesterday, which was scanned as "Delivery Attempted" at c. 3pm yesterday with no slip/note.

Another Amazon delivery came this morning, so I asked the postman if he happened to have a second parcel for me & he said no. I explained there was no note etc and he said the scan must have been a lie.

I went back inside, and tried An Post webchat. c. 8-10 mins wait, and I go through. I was told to disregard the "Delivery Attempted" scan as the item is assigned for delivery today; the postman simply didn't have a chance to get out to me yesterday before he had to get back to the depot. I was told it may come out in the afternoon due to staggered work times. The latter point seems odd since a parcel was evidently due to me today, not sure why they didn't consolidate.

I just had another call from An Post, this time dropping off a third (unrelated, non Amazon) parcel which was post marked 27 October and delivered today. It came from Meath... What gives?

Still no sign of the aforementioned Amazon parcel.
