I share with my brother from separate households so we pay €40 each for a digital copy worth €80.We both get a digital copy of the game and can play at the same time. Also we can split PS plus so only need one active subscription.

The way it works is I set his console as my primary and he sets my console as his primary and then we just log in on our own accounts.Sounds a little complicated but is easy to set up and works flawlessly.I have not bought a disc in years and personally find digital far more convenient for switching between games.

Always wondered how this actually worked in practice.
Can ye both play the same game at the same time? Offline & Online?
Also, Can ye play against each other in say FIFA for example?

Yes we have bought Fifa and COD in the past and we can both play online together and offline at the same time.It works exactly as if we both had a disc version in each console.

Makes me wonder why nobody has come up with a PS4/PS5 Digital Buddy Up system were like minded people who generally like the same types of game pair up and agree to split the cost of digital purchase. A bit like the Spotify or Headspace family sharing etc.

I mean I have been doing it since the ps3.You could actually have 5 different accounts back then when sharing. When people started taking advantage of this they reduced the number to 2 accounts.I fully expect Ps5 to work on 2 accounts just like PS4.

Also just to add that if you share ps plus the secondary account will lose the ability to cloud save.

Also they will have to log in to the primary account to start the download for the free ps plus games.

Haha ya I forgot about taxis to be honest. I could just cycle if I knew it would fit in me big backpack!

Considering the size of the actual machine I imagine box gonna be huge .

It’s mad that stores aren’t changing all orders to delivery.

Imagine the queues outside Smyths/Curry’s etc would be like shooting fish in a barrel for gardai to hand out fines on the release days...

Dunno what Smyths are gonna do that day between everyone getting a console then all other orders for toys. Has the potential to be a mess.

Either way should be fun ha.

They should open at 7am for people to collect PS5s and everyone else to collect after 9 as usual

Good point, never thought about having to wait. I hope they send an email the day before to say it’s ready when the store opens in the morning

A phone shop in Ennis getting 90 PS5s? I wouldn’t believe them and would steer well clear.

That’s €50,000 he will have upfront. Why does he want the money up front?

Whatever for scumbags on adverts and Ebay, but are shops even allowed to sell above RRP?

Either way, I'd be staying well clear

    Yes, it's a recommend price.
The could try and sell it for €550 or €450, it's up to them.

Yeah Argos sometimes do this on release date. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Argos have it up for €550+ on release date.

The official line from Smyth's is that you'll get a text when it's ready for collection.
