They need to close the schools from mid Nov to the first week in March.

Go in Easter week and June+July for primary schools.

Go in Easter week+ June for secondary schools. Leaving cert in July.

This is the best solution for a once in a lifetime crisis.

    Exactly

    Try something anyway

Then we figured out we could park them in front of the TV. That’s how I was raised, and I turned out TV.”

Most people just brushed it off but some got Long TV and were left with "Square Eyes".

good luck getting teachers to work 6 day weeks

Well the government have no problem telling pubs, restraunts, gyms, retail outlets to shut down destroying lives so the teachers can clearly do an extra day.

If anyone doesn't think that schools are not to be blame for the increased numbers are delusional. Most students would be asymptomatic

House parties have been happening all over the country since March, its not a new thing.

This strategy of gardaí asking people to break up their parties is completely toothless. There needs to be a deterrent to holding a party in the first place.

What sort of deterrent could there be in advance?

Clearly. Haha, I like your can-do attitude. Or they could do three days and two days for one group, then the following week two days and three days. But breaking students up into days on, days off actually doesn't do a whole heap to reduce transmission when you think about it.

If Johnny comes in on Monday and gives it to the teacher that the class has in common, on Wednesday the other group will be exposed.

They need a long term plan, not just shut down schools for five months.

The virus is never going away. Sure we can get the numbers down to under 50 then what?

We will be back to 1200 again again after a few weeks.

This current lockdown has to be the last one and the government have six weeks to get their **** together for a long term plan.

What intern did she steal credit from back in the day to get any kind of reputation in the first place. Thats what I'm still wondering.

Might have us on this one, we sell shop shelving.

Outlets selling products necessary for the essential upkeep and functioning of places of residence and businesses, whether on a retail or wholesale basis,
its all the small print isn't it.

By reader the list im sure most employees could fine a reason to open.

What a vile woman. Between this and the other video earlier she's on fire today. Is she for real or does she play up to get attention?

Strict weekly testing for teachers then.
    No other choice.

She should be locked up as danger to herself and others, my god saying she was treated like a jew for refusing to wear a mask when so many of them were gassed.

Didn't she have a TED talk at one stage?

I'd say her career started with a contract with Mephistopheles.

That's just a greater fine than one proposed. Someone would still have to impose it and if it's a fixed penalty notice that would still be the Gardai.

Twitter not working for me for some reason, what does that tweet say?

    Sorry just seeing now,
"The General Secretary of the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation John Boyle has said that tracking, testing and surveillance of Covid-19 in primary schools has been “shambolic”."

How patronising , I washed my own hands thank you and did everything asked of me. How dare he speak like that to people who are doing everything right

Well there's some here who think patronising and being as condescending as possible is the height of wit so he'll have a sizable fanclub here for that carry on.

    World peace?!

Otherwise not much. Allegedly a level of cases that will allow us to return to Level 3 for Christmas, something to be taken with a truckload of salt.

Only 1 more shopping day to Christmas

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

And what point are you trying to make exactly? Of course the Gardai would have to impose the fines.
I’d also give the homeowners/ tenant an additional fine for every party attendee.... it’s about time we grew some teeth with the deviants who we can all thank for their behaviour that has landed us back in miserable lockdown.

Has anyone a link to the graph showing Covid deaths by actual date-of-death?

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?
