How many people are in ICU in CUH with covid at the moment?

Usually wouldn't be Michael McDowell biggest supporter but he makes a point that in march we should have have sorted the Health Service out when there was a lockdown, missed opportunity IMO.

Will be like a soldier returning home after WW2
I hope you just mean you'll be riding a lot, as opposed to having suffered any sort of ordeal.

Social distancing disappeared in many people's minds once mandatory face masks were introduced.

What was the spare ICU capacity 12 months ago? How many were on trolleys 12 months ago?

    Yes I noticed that too.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

I know in England they are a little bit more enforced. I heard from a people I know living there - if a neighbour sees visitors going to and from their neighbours, they snitch to the police. I don't know if Glasgow has followed the same way snitch ing on the neighbours.

Probably not. The Scots are good people.

Is that not what the whole point of the lockdown was in the first place?

Did the advice not state (for level 3):

You can have a maximum of 6 visitors to your home from 1 other household only. This may be reduced further in line with public health advice for the area. You should not meet socially in other settings.

No visitors whatsoever is level 4.

Although looking at the gov.ie site, it seems this has been changed now to reflect the announcement :pac:

Level 3 allows for “visitors from one other household only or own household only”, with the precise guideline to be determined by “prevailing public health advice for the county or other defined geographical area”.

What is actually different in level 4 compared to the level 3.75 we have?

Non essential retail closes probably the biggest

Not really 'dirty little prostitutes' have already been mentioned several weeks ago although probably not in the same context.
Was that not some English Lord blaming the Donegals for the rise in NI cases?

I spoke to doctors in UCHG about this and they were furious about it. One works in ICU. They blame HSE management. It seems the bloated HSE senior management play a lot of golf over the summer months.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Looking at the make-up of NPHET, it's no surprise they'd rather destroy the country than sort out the Health Service.

Suppose lads like yourself do need to pay, so maybe it is an essential service?

There are hundreds of 'escorts' advertising their services on an Irish website, travelling all over the country, banging away. Good luck contact tracing back to them.

Surely a site such as this should be shut down, like ridiculous that it exists in first place, but now when asking people to stop travelling and meeting, you have hundreds , maybe 1000+ superspreaders whoring around the country.

Consenting adults and all that but it's bullsh1t
Site is t exactly hard to find just Google escort and it will probably be the first page that pops up

    Reminded me of this :)

I doubt if they'd qualify as essential service providers?
They must be crossing the county boundaries via the back roads or they'd get stopped at a checkpoint at some stage.

Level 3 removed many sources of community transmission.

It was brought in 7 days ago from midnight tonight. Many cases infected before this are only becoming symptomatic now.

These cases will now cause widespread further infection among close contacts be they housemates or family or sometimes work colleagues.

The effects of Level 3 are still not evident and had we moved to Level 5 last week we would be in a similar situation.

We brought in lockdown on March 28 but cases didn't start falling for several weeks after. The lag here is very important and it doesn't get stated on here often enough.

And there it is, the truth. ICU is full because our capacity is w**k, we'd be in the same situation if covid wasn't around.

Wish they would have shut the schools in the three counties, if for no other reason to use as a test case for the rest of the country. These level 4 restrictions may at best stabilise the numbers but in all likelihood not do much with the schools remaining open.

Then they wouldn't know if level 4 with schools open would be effective.

    Yet again:
Level 3 allows for “visitors from one other household only or own household only”, with the precise guideline to be determined by “prevailing public health advice for the county or other defined geographical area”

I'm starting to think people, dispute their constant discussion of the topic, never actually read the issued documents.

If they put half as much effort into clearly promoting good hygiene, social distancing, establishing effective testing and contact tracing, and boosting hospital capacity, we'd be in a far better place. Instead we listen to them on a daily basis banging on about restaurants, pubs, house parties, football matches.

I know a fella from Cavan who'll be visiting multiple counties in the next two weeks despite the "level 4" restrictions.

NPHET and the Government have well and truly lost the people on this.

    Or

The people know exactly what they should be doing, but are behaving like your friend

Would love to know what extra advertising you think would have made ppl not already observing all the things you list suddenly turn into decent citizens

The same posters whinging about controls to fight a deadly infectious disease would be the same people roaring if the govt took actual steps to enforce the requested behaviours would be the same people roaring about how we should have done x y and z six months ago and will be the same people crying when we need to go to level five for christmas

And they're the same people now who think their mates in Cavan going on jaunts are great men

Sure, though, the handful of people in the cabinet should just have asked people to behave themselves in a different tone of voice or used a different colour poster, that would've worked

    How bout this:

    - you can't win an argument with a ****in virus
    - people are responsible for their own behaviour and in these circumstances the country is exactly where it deserves to be

    How bout that?

Nah, blame de gubbermint, what else would ye do

Think your wasting your time in fairness.
Makes me wonder all these large increases in Meath, Cavan and Monaghan, do they have more schoolchildren/schools than the likes of Dublin.
If so, that would explain case numbers increasing and good proof of schools driving cases.

In Cavan , no. They have more hooleys after football matches

    Are visors banned?

No too controversial for those who value their facial beauty. Scientifically not worth a fvck.
