I'm done with it now. Followed every single rule since March. Living alone and working from home and number of contacts is max 5 per week and yet I cannot even visit one person now, yet I can sit in a beer garden with 14 others, play a gaa match, etc

A step too far for me. I've probably been overly sensible to date but to ask me not to even have one visitor in my home a week is just too much.

Not quite true. Raw materials can often be sourced in China/India. Very little finished product comes from china/India to Europe.

It is incredibly unfair and will only penalise further the people who have behaved so admirably during the pandemic.

Hey folks, I am serious has the whole country just gone up a level or what?

Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan moved to Level 4.

Countrywide - Household visits now prohibited.

    So yes and no.

It must be repeated, spread is not happening in schools more than elsewhere in society and the evidence is it’s less than elsewhere in younger age groups. And if transmission is reduced in the community as a whole that will also result in fewer schools cases and reduced risk in school.

Think your wasting your time in fairness.
Makes me wonder all these large increases in Meath, Cavan and Monaghan, do they have more schoolchildren/schools than the likes of Dublin.
If so, that would explain case numbers increasing and good proof of schools driving cases.

At least we know that 'lockdown' means good dry weather. Covid likes high pressure. Great for walking.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

There are hundreds of 'escorts' advertising their services on an Irish website, travelling all over the country, banging away. Good luck contact tracing back to them.

Surely a site such as this should be shut down, like ridiculous that it exists in first place, but now when asking people to stop travelling and meeting, you have hundreds , maybe 1000+ superspreaders whoring around the country.

Consenting adults and all that but it's bullsh1t
Site is t exactly hard to find just Google escort and it will probably be the first page that pops up

    Look it up!

National changes in line with household visits clause in Level 3 and three border counties to level 4.

Well I am looking after an elderly relative post op and is from another county. Has been with us the last week bless him.

We take all precautions obviously so I'm guessing that is ok. Don't want to buck anything, but hopefully that will be ok.

He is a grumpy fkr though, so forgive me if I have an oul rant! Understandable if you are out of your nest and your own routine, I get that.

Probably the wrong thread, but whoever decided to outsource the contract tracers
with zero hour contracts shold be sacked, I would have thought they would have been directly employed by the HSE, rant over

I am out of self-isolation from a positive test on Saturday. My GF lives 25 mins away with her parents, and I normally stay there 4 nights a week anyway (apart from the prior lockdown). We had planned to have moved into a converted flat at home by now, but there have been multiple delays along the way, and it probably won't be until the new year now. She and her family tested negative, as did my parents (second test pending), and I have literally not visited any other household for ages now aside from my own and hers.

Judge me all ye want, I'm still visiting her. I can guarantee I won't be putting anyone in jeopardy in doing so, but her mental health in particular may be affected if I don't. If I am stopped, I'll tell them I'm on the way to school sure.

Will be like a soldier returning home after WW2

My employer also a massive multi national hasn't followed a single suggestion in terms of working from home.

We worked from home for the 3 or so months it was forced but have been back in the office since then despite the fact the job functioned perfectly from home.

For every employer doing their part their is another who pretends their employers must be on site when it really isn't the case.

Do we work in the same place? :pac:

I'm being told that everyone on site has been aprroved to be back by the factory manager, but every week the car parks are busier and the corridors more crowded...

I'm getting really annoyed at the government line only travel to work if you're essential. To all businesses, everyone is essential. If you weren't you'd be gone - they're trying to make a profit. They need to come out and state clearly that it's for work that absolutely CANNOT IN ANY WAY be done remotely, ie. if you're not needed in person to bang a hammer, stay at home!

I don't give a bollox if the kids are wrecking peoples heads, or they miss the buzz about the office, tough! The amount of office workers in my place that are in is a joke, they worked from home at the start, they may stay there so those of us that have to be on site in person can do safely.

Well given it’s unlikely any such site is operating out of Ireland, even if it is “servicing“ ireland, how do you think it could be shut down?

That's your decision but honestly the isolation period is there for a reason.

I tested positive last Thursday, having had symptoms on Tuesday and haven't left the house for a full week.

I suspect you'll be torn apart on the thread here as well for your troubles...
