There is something very odd in presenting a case history like this. There is no reference to the overall statistical evidence of cases like his.
It smacks of good old scaremongering.

So strange, a disgusting tactic. Just stick to the facts please and stop trying to scare people into compliance. 99% stick 1% carrot seems to be their approach.

Someone just posted a tweet a few posts back, 27 cases in Galway.

    That's yesterday's.
I found it confusing to post it in the middle of a discussion on today's numbers.

So level 4 this week then?

Because on the basis of Dublin and Donegal 3 doesn’t work enough

Or we could implement a track and trace system that actually works, get the cases down with a proper lockdown and live our lives with hiccups here and there instead of living in limbo.

It's very hard to do that if people are not isolating when waiting for results of a test or not turning up for tests. Any system would collapse under those circumstances

We shouldn't dwell on this one high number from Dublin just like we shouldn't say that level is working when it's low,

But it's certain that level 3.5 isn't enough to be safely 'living with covid', we probably need a level 4.5 to do that and that's hardly living, government need a new plan or do the lockdown again but open up properly.

3 days in a row above 200 now.

In fairness CMO said it wasn't a common occurrence straight after.

Putting this guy out is shameful. Trump-esque tactics from NPHET. This fella is an outlier. A statistical anomaly.

    Absolutely scandalous fear mongering

Can we get the 20000 plus recovered people on tv too.

I actually can’t believe this was allowed.

So you think they should present a statistical anomaly in order to scare the vast majority? Its like from North Korea.

Why aren't they backing up this guys case with further statistics for the age bracket? Why don't the state the % of cases recovered in this age bracket? And so on.

They won't because it doesn't feed into the propaganda.

Yeah but as someone mentioned the people who need a kick up the hole aren't watching these pressers.

I don't see the problem rolling that chap out. If it makes the absolute thickos who aren't obeying the rules think twice then I'm all for it.

The sooner they cop on the sooner we can open up business again.

Fair play to them though. It's shameful but it works. People who gobble up whatever is served will be sh1t scared of it.

From what I see too many people are still doing stupid things when it takes a little effort to do them right.

Having chats within a metre when they could step back a bit, wearing masks below their noses etc. No harm in letting them see that this can have consequences for other people.

The way to limit this is if everyone plays ball with simple hygienic practices. No one wants another lockdown.

They are trying to show young people it can affect them, do you have a problem with that?

Well, we had two low days in Dublin followed by 3 high days. Let's give it a few more days before jumping to a conclusion.

It was people like you and Stephen Donnelly who were jumping to conclusions after a couple of relatively low days in Dublin and saying the Dublin trend was looking good. Dublin has been on level 3 for weeks now and it's making feck all difference in terms of driving the number consistently and substantially down.

But the people who aren't obeying the rules won't be watching this and more than likely don't care.
The message isn't and wont reach the target audience.
