Putting this guy out is shameful. Trump-esque tactics from NPHET. This fella is an outlier. A statistical anomaly.

Do you have a source for this?

Cases have halved in Cavan over the last 24 hrs. That wont make the headlines though. Its all only numbers anyway. No point in them unless you know when, where, community or cluster.

They haven't a notion surely outside the county the cases are from. Still waiting on contact tracers after testing positive on Thursday.

System has collapsed from the amount of cases it looks like.

Cavan rate very high with a population of 76,000.

What's the figures for Galway today.

310 cases are spread across 20 other counties of which Galway is one

Yeah coz that's how this all works. Lockdown and cases stop IMMEDIATELY...yawn

Dublin has been at level 3 for over 3 weeks.. your caps lock is yawning.

If level three isn't working at the moment then hard to see it working for the next 6 months,so will Dublin and maybe the rest of the country have to stay in a level above 3 all the way through to next spring?

There was a piece on the news at the start where the authorities are asking and urging the public to keep their close contacts low. The main benefit to this would be to slow the spread of the virus. The less people meeting, the less chance the virus has to spread.

I'm waiting for covid results and I'm hoping it will be a negative result and I think it will be. I kept my circle very small and my contacts very low. All I had to do was make 2 phone calls and ask - 'are you sick or showing any symptoms'? There's no one in my circle sick. If my results do come back positive, I was able to pinpoint the possible places where I was exposed. I ate out twice since Saturday the 26th of September. Social distancing was maintained at all times. The two places were not packed. One place was for breakfast and empty. The other place was for lunch. It was hot and stuffy there with some more people but not full. I'm leaning more towards this place towards a possible exposure.

It's good to keep the contacts low and also the movements in public indoor spaces low too. I'm never eating out again until one of two things happen:
    1) the virus cases get under control with low numbers
    Or
    2) vaccine come through
    .

Many people feel the same and this will increase if the rates get very high. I doubt motivation is high for many in the North to be in public spaces etc. Its why the economy may never recovery to what it was until very low levels/vaccine etc.

Still definitely the pubs are largely to blame. Keep most of them shut because absolutely nothing is happening in the schools.

More government propaganda as I receive it.

Oh yes, schools open roughly at the same time in various countries even those that had pubs open all through the summer but virus spikes at a similar time all over Europe... no no its pubs and restaurants. Schools are safe, sure didn't FF say so.
Nothing to see here move along

Shame on people saying he didn’t have covid. Tested positive for antibodies. People need to cop on.

    Who are you talking about?

It's reality yes. A statistical anomaly. Even Chairman Tony just said it's extremely uncommon. But lap it up.

We shouldn't dwell on this one high number from Dublin just like we shouldn't say that level is working when it's low,

But it's certain that level 3.5 isn't enough to be safely 'living with covid', we probably need a level 4.5 to do that and that's hardly living, government need a new plan or do the lockdown again but open up properly.

I'm not sure why the CMO is not mentioning the massive outbreak in Cavan and in the CUH when he discusses the hospitals.

While it unfortunately happened to him it is not common and this was referenced by CMO. Far from reality for vast majority.

Or we could implement a track and trace system that actually works, get the cases down with a proper lockdown and live our lives with hiccups here and there instead of living in limbo.

Someone just posted a tweet a few posts back, 27 cases in Galway.

    Cavan is more manageable maybe?

There is something very odd in presenting a case history like this. There is no reference to the overall statistical evidence of cases like his.
It smacks of good old scaremongering.

He is an outlier but no harm in giving some people who have become relaxed in their personal responsibilities a dose of reality of what can happen if you're careless and pass it on.

Clare has the highest positivity rate in the country.

Fair play to them though. It's shameful but it works. People who gobble up whatever is served will be sh1t scared of it.

Looks like we might get stuck in semi-permanent level 3. I'd almost wonder if you're better off being stricter for a period just to get a few months of most stuff being open, being able to travel etc. Even economically speaking we're just in limbo at the moment.
