Bring Mid-term forward by 1 week, and a 2-3 week mid-term at level 5? I think they might get away with level 4

what will this really achieve in the long run?

I'd think the later the circuit breaker the better so we have case numbers very low in the run up to Christmas but in reality we will never get case numbers to where they were in June...

In reality,...the real talk should be Dublin coming back to Level 2 with the improvement and trend but that will never happen even if we are down to 50 a day

After this lockdown we need to come down like a ton of bricks on those breaking the rules.

Only thing we are trying to achieve is to not overrun our healthcare system in the winter and keep deaths low.

So that all the Dubliners can have a longer holiday in Kerry, Cork, Galway etc and poison the place with their virus.

yes your right. any level 5 now will mean at least level 3 for the rest of the winter. remember our incredibly slow release all summer? what was that about..trying to be able to identify areas of spread apparently, well that worked well!

ok. why were we semi closed all summer then if this is a winter issue?

NPHET gives advice on public health. They have no control over hospitals or the test and trace system. That is the HSE and government job to sort out. A job they failed at.
It is but we don't know what the HSE have done. They have, at the very least, upped the number of ICU beds and they say there is a surge plan. We won't see that until it's needed as it requires shutting down almost everything else.

The contact tracing has been a constant issue but let's not overlook the more than anecdotal stories of ( large numbers of ?) people not getting tested nor restricting their movements. The HSE has no control over that.

Hah, you are picking the wrong person to ask that question to. I totally agree, that is the fear with NPHET, they were far far to slow in lifting restrictions over summer, and got obsessed with daily numbers in the teens.

Once we move to higher levels, i think we will never claw them back this winter.

Everyone is at risk, not just from dying. Some young lad on the late late show who was left crippled and can't walk and he's 17. Many more people with lasting affects as well.

What fella was left crippled, can he still not walk. The risk if your under 60 is absolutely ****en tiny if your any bit healthy, I understand health systems can get overrun and that's where the danger is but the narrative that this disease is detrimental to everyone is wrong. The facts are there to support this so stop peddling this absolute scaremongering horse****

1 more move to level 5 or CB is a last resort

Realistically after that it's level 3 or bust

wonder at Level 5 would they make an exception to allow some sport to continue?
Like the LOI,Dundalk's Europa games & the GAA Championship.

I think they should since outdoors is very low risk.

    I don't see level 5 happening...

It will be level 4. Dublin may stay level 3 due to improving picture.

Santa will not be opening any letter this year due to the risks associated with people licking envelopes and stamps.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

There are alot more people with lasting affects, I'm not scare-mongering. This virus is a lottery and just don't know what way it will go for you.

If you read my post you would see that I said get a grip because the poster was condemning someone for having an opinion and maybe getting it wrong.
I never mentioned ICU beds, the seriousness of the situation etc...it was you who suggested I did.
    Anyways...moving swiftly on

Is there really much of a difference between level 4 and level 5? Doesn't most non essential business have to close at level 4

Do you never get tired of spouting the same bullsh!t over and over again. Absolute nonsense in all your posts.

We get it, you're a non believer and one of these anti everything related to covid. You probably secretly believe it's all because of 5G. Madness.

Not disagreeing with you but I don't see much of a difference between level 4 and level 5,Suppose if they go to level 5 the schools will definitely close even though it wasn't in the original plan. Level 4 and they will try keep the schools open

It might. Indo hinting that Level 5 may happen within 10 days and Varadkar talking more seriously about circuit breakers. The suggestion is the NPHET meeting on Thursday is decision time on all of this.
