There already is a backlog of 500 or so from this week. We could be looking at 1000+ today unfortunately.

Well clearly not everyone is doing their bit. I’m Currently Staying in a hotel for essential work.

Last night a golf party of 15 men, all drunk in the bar singing and clapping.

Hen party of at least 12 today, all drinking and eating away together indoors.

Loads of groups clearly not from the Same household here clearly for a party.

Locals arriving for swimming and food without bookings.

This could last a long time!

Name and shame or its bs in fairness. Why would you protect scumbag businesses like this by concealing their identity?

Fatigue isn’t caused by restrictions, it’s caused by covid. Call me old fashioned but I’d rather be fatigued than be seriously ill, dying or watching a parent or loved one in that situation.

No fatigue is also caused by perpetual supression with no end in sight.

Covid and lots of other common illness also cause it of course.

Im trying to find an article I read a while ago explainjng the human reaction to supression. Was very intersting

One thing I gather from this thread is that those who are vehemently opposed to a lockdown are going to be the people who most likely cause it.

Germany, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Greece. None of these countries have nationwide restrictions preventing free travel. None of these countries have restaurants and pubs shut.

Tell us the level of restrictions currently being implemented in each of your examples.

New restrictions and curfews are also being put in place in various cities like Madrid and Paris with many more soon to follow including Berlin. Early closure of bars and restaurants are coming in to force in many other cities.

Restrictions are being tightened or about to be tightened in just about every country atm. The Czech Republic is looking at a full level national lock down and more are going to end up on that path away from local restrictions.

You are implying that life has been back to normal with no restrictions whatsoever.

This is not true to suit your own narrative.

Not good at all, but that has been the trend this week. Hopefully, Dublin is still stable.

It’s really very difficult to say that Dublin is stable with the backlog isn’t it

    Great chart.

Things are quite a bit worse than most people perceive

If they stayed at 1000 cases a day it would take over 3 and a half years to reach herd immunity of 70%

We are having more than 1,000 cases a day. That is just the people being tested.

The numbers up in NI are very worrying as well, I don't doubt that we'll see those kinds (and potentially worse) before things start to get better as L3 takes effect.

I've added the chart to the swabs page I posted yesterday. Hopefully it won't break, threw it together very quickly.

Where have you gathered any evidence for that?

What I find is those who are most opposed, follow it most religiously.

In daily life, I find those consistently harping on about "idiots" and house parties usually dont mind the restrictions because they pick and choose what recommendations suit them.

Can I ask you what framework you use to generate the graphs?

Strong links with both British and Irish far right groups.

Which groups have links with which fascist groups?

What percentage of protesters are in these groups?

    So not like Ireland then.

Worth noting that the government are preparing the budget on the assumption that there will be no covid vaccine in 2021. Not saying this is guaranteed, but it’s something else we may have to learn to accept and live with.

Through all the incarnations of this thread and the restrictions thread this has been one of the go to arguments from those that want lockdown. In reality the vast majority of people who are against lockdown know exactly what has to be done, reduce contacts, social distancing, hand washing and mask wearing when near people. Allowing people to cross a county boundary or straying more than 5km home isn't spreading the virus.

Thankfully it’s not as extreme here in NI. But can’t see people tolerating this for another year.

Time we are given our rights back.

Thanks :) I'm using ChartJS line charts, it's fairly easy to work with and I just have the data populated from the "LaboratoryLocalTimeSeriesHistoricView" dataset on the data hub then!

Backend is just some basic PHP mostly

Good to see some reality settling in.

Better to prepare for the likely worst case scenario than the hoped for it'll go away/the Oasis vaccine will arrive.

What are you on about, I never implied anywhere was back to normal. Answer me this what county in Europe has implemented full country closure of bars and restaurants and stoped family visits plus severely restricted travel within the whole country.

Last seven days compared to the previous 7 days.

894 more cases reported from 9,003 more tests carried out.

Dublin progress the main positive. 7 day average is 143 cases per day compared to 177 this time last week.

    Better sooner than later why?

So we open back up quicker then close again??

What's the benefit of opening and closing quicker.

Surely it's all the same in the long run.

If you bring in restrictions at a lower level Of infection it will take less time to get cases back to a manageable level.

And France and Germany have said that they are not going to do those things on a national level under any circumstances

Ireland is a tiny country. Nationwide for us is still just a region of France or Spain. Comparing things on a country wide level is kind of silly.

    Not exactly.

Its a budget with the potential for a hard brexit. As always plan for the worst and hope for the best. If theres a brexit trade deal struck then even better.

I'm sure you'll be shocked when a vaccine does indeed arrive in 2021, high confidence in that

    @Kermit

Most of Europe has a wide open summer, june through august very much back to normal almost

My county Dublin did not open fully and was heavily restricted, reopening of basic things was even delayed unnecessarily by 6 weeks

We missed giving our people a full break from Covid

    Yes exactly.

And the sooner we stop with the nonsense comparrisons to a region in northern Italy the better
