I think I have most of my wildcard team fixed now but will be offloading Son in the morning. He may get a second price rise and that could mean an extra .1mill when I sell him. Thinking of using the cash to upgrade Bamford. Have already brought in Jininez for DCl to avoid having to pay more for him in the morning. Any advice on the final places appreciated: Son & Bamford to

    a/ Havertz and Watkins
    b/ Ings and Trossard
    c/ Greenwood and Wood

    Thanks for any opinions.

I’d nearly go A because I love the Watkins pick and if you wanted to jump around weekly, with that price for a striker, you could target WBA, Fulham and the like each week.

Teams with a cheap striker that are playing fodder over the next few weeks - Southampton, Sheff U or Burnley, Brighton or Palace, Mitrovic and Antonio all play Fulham or WBA.

It’s basically not hard to target the more porous teams, over the next few weeks, by owning a very cheap striker. Hope that makes sense.

Getting very tempted by a last minute Hamez to Mahrez to give me

Foden, KDB, Mahrez, Son as a midfield.

Very City reliant, but no better team to rely on (and an easy switch to Pulisic in a few weeks)

Problem is there are great striker fixtures all round for DCL, Werner and Jimenez as well.

Although when pulling the WC trigger I would have completely agreed with you

Looks good. Don’t like double Wolves defence. Think their fixtures are tougher than they look. I think they’ll score goals but can see them conceding. I like Semedo.

Don’t like the Zaha pick but he seems to be popular.

Think Watkins is great as a 3rd striker. As I said above - if you have 6.5m for that final striker spot there’s some great fixtures coming up for strikers at that price. So you can hop around.

I’d possibly be happy to go double City attack and pick Sterling over Mane at least for the next few GW’s.

Happy most of this hadn't changed bar a last minute Jesus shuffle. Want Salah later but don't trust Podence.

    Martinez

James Saiss Robbo - Lamptey Mitchell

KDB, Mahrez, Foden, Son - Anguissa

    Werner, DCL, Jimenez

    Punt
Mahrez replaces JRod, looking for a differential from City

    Planned moves

Martinez to Mendy (0.5m held back to do it)
Mahrez to Chelsea mid (form/fitness dependent)

    Martinez - Steer
    Justin - Saiss - Lamptey - Taylor - Mitchell
    KDB - Salah - Son - JamRod - Anguissa
    DCL - Jiminez - Ings

Pretty much settled on that with a strong front 7. No pool defence is scary but happy enough to roll the dice on it for now.

    Any thoughts/comments?

Had a decent start to the season (70 in GW1 and 73 in GW 2) so hoping to push on having played my wildcard after having a few pints during the week.

Nice team, i hate all the Justin picks

But i have hated it since the start of the season and it has punished me

    Martinez
    Robbo James Lamptey (Mitchell Dunne)
    KDB Greenwood Podence Salah (orv)
    Jiminez Kane Wood

Only thing debating is drop wood to a 6mil striker and upgrade defence..

    Martinez
    TAA Robertson James Lamptey (Dunne)
    KBD Salah Son Podence (Klich)
    DCL Ings (Davis)

Strong urge to ditch my double Liverpool defence strategy to give me Guaita/Foden/Werner instead of Martinez/TAA/Ings in my starting XI, but think I'm gonna hold strong for now.

I ditched Justin as I don't want to be wasting transfers on defenders. You will only get 2 decent fixtures out of him.

Totally agree, though i said it'll only be 4 games at the start and he has returned in the first two

    Martinez (Steer)
    James, Castagne, Saiss (KWP, Dunne)
    Salah, KDB, Son, Foden, Klich
    Werner, Jiminez (Delap)

Delap may use up a transfer when Brewster gets his move but any points over the next couple of GWs could see a double rise, so I threw him in.

Any last minute advice is not welcome ;)

Last few decisions to make. Current team is

    Ryan Martinez
    Lamptey Mitchell James Saiss Taylor
    Zaha Son Salah KDB Podence
    Werner DCL Bamford

    .9 in the bank

Need an extra 1.1m to upgrade either Saiss or James to Robertson.

My options are Bamford to Davis (+1.1m)
Or Bamford to Connolly(+.1m) and Zaha to Townsend (+1m)
Or Bamford to Connolly (+.1m) , Zaha to Foden (+.5m), Werner to Martial (.5m)

Also considering KDB to Sterling after the Jesus news but afraid not to go with KDB.

    Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thinking a myself. Downgrading Costa doesn't really help improve the defence all that much to be honest. There's not much in the 5m to 6m bracket of defenders

Ake for city 5.5 is someone I've went with, gives you city cover and a treat from corners and seems to get forward in open play too

Thoughts? I apologise it’s less than an hour to deadline. I think this is ok but def open to suggestions.

    .1 in the bank.

Why not start castegne, his an attacking defender who has cost 5.5

Looks a nice team but not sure why you’d go with Aubameyang.

Yeah wondering if him or James/Saiss is a better option.

James more explosive, Ake maybe better long term

I have castegne & Ake, and both playing this week...the way the season has started I have decided not to worry about clean sheets...both guys offer attacking returns...Also PEA is probably someone I'd consider dropping, his fixtures are poor enough

Oh it’s a wildcard lads I can swap out a few players.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,303 ✭✭✭Mike Ehrmantraut

    Martinez Ryan
    Vvd Saiss Taylor Lampety Mitchell
    Salah Kdb Son Klich Podence
    Werner Dcl Bamford

    .8m itb

Any thoughts? Tempted to bring in Foden...

I thought he was a must have given he's a midfielder that scores?

I hadn't thought of ake. I'll change it now.

I have actually gone to Mahrez Foden KDB so can't get him......

Last minute panic changes...Son out, Werner in.

    0.4m ITB

    Martinez

    Robertson | Saiss | Taylor

    Salah (C) | Klich | Zaha | KDB

    Werner | DCL | Jimenez

Subs: Nyland | Lamptey | Mitchell | Anguissa

    McCarthy Ryan
    TAA Coady Walker-Peters Dunne Justin
    Podence Salah KDB Son McCarthy
    Werner Jimenez Davis
    Any Suggestions?

I've ended up with Havertz instead of Mahrez. I just can't go without a Chelsea attacker this week. I might switch to Mahrez next week if he looks sharp as I like the look of having 3 city players vs Leeds.

    Ryan, Forster
    Robbo, Semedo, James, Lamptey, Mitchell
    KDB, Salah, Foden, Prodence, Burke
    Werner, Jimi, DCL

    Done.

Son was the one that I had to sacrifice that I kinda want.

McCarthy has conceded a lot so far in goal. I think they miss Hojbjerg so would consider a change there.

I only have one Liverpool player (TAA) and I'm not particularly happy about that, having none is a pretty big risk imo. Maybe Sarah for Auba?
