No it's 4th and 5th Class in the same school.

That's the Senior School. First Communion was the Junior school.

I think Archbishop Diarmuid Martin is going to be speaking about all of this shortly on Radio 1.

    On now.

    Edit
Finished. Only spoke for 5 or so mins.

Families of siblings in those classes attended. And the staff? Certainly not safe or in line with protocol. A serious breech!

As I have repeated they are two different schools . And do you know exactly who attended ?
I doubt very much the staff from the Senior School were at a Junior Schools Communion ?They wouldn’t be even in normal times

They're not two different schools just to make myself explicitly clear to you. Perhaps you're talking about a different school.

Staff: you do understand the role of Special Ed teachers, Snas etc. who mix with classes amongst the school and do in fact attend these ceremonies not to mention the principal.

Are you talking about Scoil Maelraun ? If you are they are two different schools
Different head teachers , staff and roll number

This. Every single school/class is not going to have the same outcome. People need to realise that it’s not as simple as “someones positive”.

People need to realise that these kids are sharing the same room and playing with each other at lunchtime. It is not good enough to just test the pod.

Young people who gather at house parties or at raves are being blamed for spreading the virus. But vulnerable people - those with cystic fibrosis and under underlying health problems and the elderly - are maintaining distance from other people. So how is it possible for young people who break the rules to transmit the virus to vulnerable people?

Spreading to their parents whop are spreading to their own parents. Inter-generational living. Inter-generational family events.

Yeah, but everything is connected. You can ignore what you don't like. Simple.

4th and 5th most certainly are the same school which relates to my question on different protocol for covid confirmed cases. I won't be naming the school however.

Again, communion is a church issue, not a DES issue. If the church chose to run the communion with Covid in the school, that’s on the church

HSE/public health m/gov are not to be asked questions about school cases
When it comes to pubs/restaurants etc, they are fair game

Regardless of who is in breach, it shouldn't have happened.
The ceremony going ahead is very much a school issue, organised with the church, but primarily by the school. Emails sent out by the school last minute btw. Rushed by the school no time for consultation. All Catholic state run primary schools are interlinked with the church. The school has the final say.
Leaving this here. Happy Sunday all.

    Not true.

Did the church ask the hse for clearance to run the communion?

    Do they ask the Pope?

Communion is fair game, I agree with that

This is why schools should not have two masters, but this lies very much with the church and catholic ethos side of the school and not the educational

People are picking apart the schools just because they believe they should be closed.

    1) Schools aren’t closing - some need to get that into their heads.
    2) If the kids were contacts, they would be feckin tested.

If school teachers and unions decide it's too dangerous to keep the schools open they will be closed. If you don't realise that then you are not being realistic.

Nah, they will do their usual one day here and there. If they go all out they won’t be paid

Communions cancelled here this weekend (North County Dublin) but some of the parents decided to go ahead with the parties anyway. Kids dressed in the gear and had pics taken together in the local park. Caterers and bouncy castles in at least three separate houses, lots of friends and relatives arriving for the fun. One of the parents involved is a nurse. Should the schools be informed of the irresponsible behaviour that went on so they know the kids going in tomorrow could pose a greater risk? These are the idiots that are causing restrictions to be imposed on the rest of us.
