Plenty of experts understand the risks with use in the general public. Most of NPHET do, senior HSE officlas do.
I witness the constant misuse every day by people coming into retail, retail staff, deli staff, delivery drivers, shelf stackers. Every part or the chain is a cluster fcuk of misuse.
I'm a big believer in perspex, hand washing, distancing, ventilation, good cleaning regime.
Public transport I get but not retail, it's doing more harm than good.

I'm saying no more about it as it's driving me crazy the acting CMO hasn't a clue what's happening on the ground and he obviously can't even follow his own rules.

You lasted four minutes....four freaking minutes!
I got a little worried the other night when a bunch of scobes were coming my direction all in masks it was nearly fully dark and i'm not a small guy, seriously thinking of trading in my rifle for a hand gun if this continues much longer. The same toe rags wouldn't wear a mask when there meant to.

We've seen on this this thread before that if some posters don't personally like or agree with something, then theyre delighted when restrictions put a stop to it and fantasize about it never coming back. Not keen on big weddings myself, and it wouldn't be my choice (the only guests at our wedding were our daughter and my parents lol) but I wouldn't be happy that anyone had theirs affected by this. The friends are better off without people like that there "celebrating" with them anyway.

Yeah like if they don't have the balls to negotiate a work-from-home agreement with their employer its like hey lets just shut down the whole country. Gee I really like not having a stressful commute anymore thanks Leo.

Sam McConkey said back in March it could kill 20,000+ here. That was only prevented by lockdown. Now there's nothing stopping it from spreading like wildfire. In shops, schools, dry pubs, restaurants and workplaces. It's borderline mass murder. We're pigs to the ****ing slaughter

    Cannot be for real

Is anybody using the App to it's full potential still or has it gone to ground totally?

You know that thing of putting their names along the route with arrows, my husband always says this time next year the arrows will be pointing in two different directions.

Some of your outlandish comments would suggest that you are looking for a reaction. This in turn suggest the possibility that you're trolling.

But not for me to mod nor was I trying. Regardless I look forward to reading you're comments, especially as they seem to be getting more and more deranged

I know, isn't it shocking that everyone doesn't just agree with you and have the same view on everything? How they dare people want a big party celebration surrounded by all their family and friends that they'll remember for the rest of their life.

Nobody is forced to go to a wedding against their will. Not that hard respond, sorry but weddings aren't really my thing, I just don't feel comfortable at them but I hope you have a great day and we can meet up some time after for a coffee and you can tell me all about it.

I say this as someone who is getting married next year and will have less than 20 guests, covid restrictions or not.

You are all over the place with that response! But I've been there too, just saying.

Ah come on, you do know that what I said is the reality for many who cannot afford all the mullarkey surrounding someone else's wedding. But it is really not easy to decline. But nowadays it may be that bit easier. That's all.

I wish you and your future H or W all the very best.

I wish I was trolling. I lost my job in April because of covid and that ****ed me right up. It's been a long and hard 6 months for me. As it has for many

    Get another job.

Well the Cabinet have now gone to self isolation.

Just a way of keeping the egg head quiet, and not have to say much. LOL.

NPHET in charge now, yee haa.

I've got a customer in work who doesn't even say hello anymore, just says our latest case count and tells me my mask is useless because it's not medical grade etc. and we're all going to be infected with this, that we're going to be Italy 2.0 at this stage.

This isn't living with the virus. It's living in fear of a virus that isn't going anywhere, and for the majority of people at the moment, makes them asymptomatic. For anyone who isn't at high risk or elderly, it will more than likely be okay.

    Funny story.

We lost the cabinet and the acting CMO.

But on the plus side Professor Nolan gets to play with his R number charts for a full hour at the next briefing.

There is a repeating pattern where some do what maybe they and possibly others think is darkly subversive humour using barely controlled expressions of hysteria couched in dead pan subtle snark. Sometimes I admit I find it quite funny. Like Paddygreen clapping on the landing. Sometimes it is less amusing. Takes all sorts, I suppose.

Dublin is the capital and the spear head of the country.

We should lock down the entire country apart from Dublin. IMO.

I'd take a county or province lock down

Dubs just stay in Dublin in your own gaffs ;)

And you propose a blanket lockdown of the economy for the next four to six months? That makes a lot of sense.

I don’t think we know that for certain though? Just that it was cleared to resume by the safety board. The risk may be so low that it doesn’t materially increase the risk of the condition occurring in the absence of the vaccine

How long do people on here think we will be wearing masks for? Another 6 months? 12?
    Genuine question
Or maybe there is no answer?

Your customer is right. Unfortunately we need to fear the virus. For thousands of years humans have feared illness and viruses for very good reason. Any notion of 'living with the virus' is akin to suggesting we live with an 8 foot lion in our sitting room.
