Older couple up from us have had a lovely summer seemingly...they love an oul karaoke party..they have had about 4.

Now sadly the wife has passed away from coronavirus........

So what are they doing today to celebrate her life?...having a "socially distanced" karaoke party at the neighbours across the road with speakers out the front the lot.

Honestly....some people...just don't get it and never will is it any wonder Dublin is fecking riddled with cases!

Also the singing and song choices are muck

I'm not sure a limit of 3 households meeting up on an ad-hoc basis can be considered "severe". Yes, it means if you have 4 siblings and your parents that you can't see them all at the same time, but you definitely can see them all. Ultimately these are guidelines. If you have a funeral or another once-in-a-lifetime family event, then nobody is going to give you grief for being slightly outside the lines, so long as you're sensible. So invite the grandparents and maybe 3 or 4 aunties/uncles to your daughter's communion celebration, and have a 2/3 hour gathering in the back garden.

Don't be inviting everyone, including the second cousins and the neighbour across the way into the house for drinking into the wee hours.

And if you're used to having 15 people pile into your mother's house for Sunday dinner every week, then you might just have to knock it on the head for a while.

Training

Outdoors: training can take place in pods of up to 15 (exemption for professional/elite/inter-county sports/senior club championship).

Indoors: training, exercise and dance classes can take place in pods of up to 6 inside (exemption for professional/elite/inter-county sports/senior club championship).

The GAA clause? I am sure Rugby/Soccer/Hockey clubs around the country would have an issue with the exemption

Think about it. Even with medical experts and PR firms advising the government on this they come up with evem more bs. What about all their other policies on 'normal' things like housing, education, policing, homelessness, poverty, etc that they come up with ON THEIR OWN!!! Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence does it?

Besides FFG, I think the useless folks in the permanent government needs to be culled - the civil servants who are coming up with this nonsense.

Long Covid is an issue without a doubt. Iv'e had two "false dawns" recovering from the virus and if im 100% honest with myself im beginning to wonder if i'll ever feel the way i did last year again.

I'm back running but struggling at the 3-4 klms mark where i could have ran a marathon this time last year.

I realise a lot of people who have had it are over it in a matter of days or some feel no effects at all but make no mistake if you get a high viral load of this thing you will suffer.

I'd imagine they'll do what the GAA did and ask the CMO and NPHET to explain their logic. Hopefully they won't be that prickish and just take the unfairness like the rest of the groups that are getting screwed. Of course really they should ask the the main man Michael Martin. He'll direct them to "the plan"

Your response kind of sums this up. Its aimed at middle aged people. Nothing you've said there is particularly relevant for somebody in their twenties. Everything you've said there is around families.

If I want to have 4 friends over, they have to live together (which they don't). It is severe. Not everyone lives with or has their life centralised around familes.

The plan is a shambles form the start when I heard the restrictions would be in LEVELS. The ordinary folks who go about there daily routine work family and play and here Level 1,2,or 3 on the radio and then here 2.5 means nothing. You see when you hear numbers like that it just goes over your head for most people.

The Government are out of touch with reality at the moment I'm afraid to say. They would of been better of putting in a colour level instead let's say from Green, Yellow then Orange on the Red whatever stands out to people who can simply distinguish the warning for each county.
