Oh wait, I take it all back. The plan isn't as clear as it first appears.

In level 3, under the heading of "Bars, cafes & restaurants", they simply say, "Additional restrictions for indoor dining".

Which would lead one to believe they can open, but perhaps table sizes have to be reduced to 2, or 4 or something.

But in the overview at the top, they state that pubs will be closed, and indoor dining in restaurants not permitted.

What a mess. Two weeks they were working on this, and this is what we get. FFS.

They should have been working on this for 6 months. But they announced they were working in this in early August.

    Well holy god................and that's putting it mildly......

So they came up with a five level plan and then could not but Dublin into one of the shiny new levels, they just revealed....and probable hired consultants to make up this BS....

So the Five level plan has failed immediately......and no one is going to follow it as its just further confusion........and they cannot even get the first day right....

Also Dublin, and possible other Urban/Rural divides need to be split up going forward....and guess what we don't need consultants for this either....last time I checked Dublin has well defined and know area codes and towns and cities have well defined boundaries.....

Unfortunately this sort of nonsense leadership is what people vote for. Doesnt surprise me in the slightest.

Well done to the Irish government on there plan
You even made onto polish state news.
Where iit was being discussed by a panel
News caster turns to one of the panel and asked what the meaning of something was the panelist turns and said I really don't understand it , the news caster asked you don't understand the wording he replied no I understand the wording very well but I don't understand there plans it's doesn't make sense and is contradictory

Yes it's a sh*show but TBH I'm not really interested in what the Poles think of us, hardly a beacon of progress, plenty of their own problems to be dealing with.

One clear decision: Next years Census postponed. Sensible IMO.

Older couple up from us have had a lovely summer seemingly...they love an oul karaoke party..they have had about 4.

Now sadly the wife has passed away from coronavirus........

So what are they doing today to celebrate her life?...having a "socially distanced" karaoke party at the neighbours across the road with speakers out the front the lot.

Honestly....some people...just don't get it and never will is it any wonder Dublin is fecking riddled with cases!

Also the singing and song choices are muck

    They aren't the only ones.

Donnelly on radio 1 now saying the confusion is coming from the opposition

Newscaster just asked why Ireland did not use the color coding warning level as per EU guide lines
Reply was they seem to be going it on there own.
Time to change the channel I can't listen to anymore of it

    Regarding social activity.

we must consider social activity somewhat essential?

    Not all of it .

Eg people meeting in a pub , that's more about drinking than meeting a person

It can't be expected that people severely limit social activity for 15 months, it just won't happen. This plan has a max of 3 households regardless in the best case scenario level.
I'm not sure a limit of 3 households meeting up on an ad-hoc basis can be considered "severe". Yes, it means if you have 4 siblings and your parents that you can't see them all at the same time, but you definitely can see them all. And arguably on the same day - one household in, one household out.

Ultimately these are guidelines. If you have a funeral or another once-in-a-lifetime family event, then nobody is going to give you grief for being slightly outside the lines, so long as you're sensible. So invite the grandparents and maybe 3 or 4 aunties/uncles to your daughter's communion celebration, and have a 2/3 hour gathering in the back garden.

Don't be inviting everyone, including the second cousins and the neighbour across the way into the house for drinking into the wee hours.

And if you're used to having 15 people pile into your mother's house for Sunday dinner every week, then you might just have to knock it on the head for a while.

No change to face nappies even at level 1, still penalty on conviction for not wearing a face covering up to €2,500 and/or 6 months in prison.

    They can shove their plan.

I’m going to buy a boat… do a little travelling, and I’m going to be drinking beer

Please, as soon as possible, buy that boat, preferrably without an internet connection, and fill it with beer. That way, you can do whatever you like without putting other people at risk.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

    Training

Outdoors: training can take place in pods of up to 15 (exemption for professional/elite/inter-county sports/senior club championship).

Indoors: training, exercise and dance classes can take place in pods of up to 6 inside (exemption for professional/elite/inter-county sports/senior club championship).

The GAA clause? I am sure Rugby/Soccer/Hockey clubs around the country would have an issue with the exemption

Think about it. Even with medical experts and PR firms advising the government on this they come up with evem more bs. What about all their other policies on 'normal' things like housing, education, policing, homelessness, poverty, etc that they come up with ON THEIR OWN!!! Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence does it?

When will the 3rd Minister for Agriculture be defending the plan and warning us that Covid loves to party?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,004 ✭✭✭Van.Bosch

It’s not even that Dublin is 2.5. Wet pubs are only closed in phase 5, so Dublin is phase 2 and a bit of phase 5!!

On day 1 of the plan - it’s ridiculous

Besides FFG, I think the useless folks in the permanent government needs to be culled - the civil servants who are coming up with this nonsense.

Donnelly on radio 1 now saying the confusion is coming from the opposition

That opposition TD isn't helping matters when asked if Dublin should be on level 3 and wouldn't give a straight answer either .

    From the article:

"Like the thousands of others who continue to experience debilitating cognitive dysfunction associated with long-Covid, Järte is fearful that her brain will never return to normal."

Long Covid is an issue without a doubt. Iv'e had two "false dawns" recovering from the virus and if im 100% honest with myself im beginning to wonder if i'll ever feel the way i did last year again.

I'm back running but struggling at the 3-4 klms mark where i could have ran a marathon this time last year.

I realise a lot of people who have had it are over it in a matter of days or some feel no effects at all but make no mistake if you get a high viral load of this thing you will suffer.

Funny that when other posters post news or information from other countries your quite happy to be informed.

Every country has problems but at least I understand what the plan I've to live with here.

I'd imagine they'll do what the GAA did and ask the CMO and NPHET to explain their logic. Hopefully they won't be that prickish and just take the unfairness like the rest of the groups that are getting screwed. Of course really they should ask the the main man Michael Martin. He'll direct them to "the plan"

It's not bull**** believe me, I wish it was.
I live on the same road.
I wouldn't be arsed to go to the effort to make it up tbh.

Im glad they aren't afraid to live....because someone has just murdered frank sinatra.

    What an absolute shambles!

    Where’s the party
    Dublin 10.

It's fairly somber compared to the other parties they had in fairness.
