255 new cases and 1 death.

I think its fairly safe to assume nearly 100 of these are from yesterday but we'll only fully know when the swab data is released tomorrow to cover today and tomorrow.

156 attributed to Dublin & 69 cases community transmission in total.

    22 in Waterford.
    13 in Donegal.
    11 in Wicklow.
    9 in Limerick.
    8 in Kildare.
    5 in Clare.

31 cases are spread between Carlow, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Laois, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Offaly, Tipperary, Westmeath and Wexford.

You would assume most are in Dublin

22 in Waterford out of a population of 50,000 is quite a worry.

Might happen if it keeps going this way

Wow. This is getting serious now as we approach Winter and people inevitably move indoors to socialise.

Fairly in line to be honest as a percentage of total cases that we've seen in the past.

Like i said in the post roughly 100 of these should have been reported yesterday, tomorrow's swabs v cases will give a good idea

50,000 in the city, about 110,000 in the county - rate half as bad as you think (though definitely the worst it's ever been down here)

Why is MM saying schools is a priority, while the cases rising? What's the bigger harm than infection in case schools are closed? This is dichotomy without sense. Are the schools guaranteed to be covid-safe? Why are so many schools listed with covid outbreaks in social media?

It appears that they simply want to create a perception that things are retuning to normal at the cost of rising infections. Who wants "normalcy" at the cost of infections? Is this people's wish or government's crazy idea?
Schools are not guaranteed CoViD safe. There are so many mentioned with outbreaks in social media (around fifty or so at the last count) because schools have large numbers of people, indoors, in close proximity for up to seven hours, five days a week. If one student has the SARS-CoV-2 virus there's a reasonable chance of passing it on to others, seeding an outbreak.

e.g. my daughter's school has over 1000 pupils but despite a recent extension to accommodate increasing pupil numbers, still does not have room for social distancing. The school has implemented a range of infection control measures and pupils have to wear a facemask. So far so good, but I think it is only the relatively low community incidence that is keeping schools relatively clear at the moment.

Yes, 100 should have been reported yesterday (most likely) but that’s still 411 cases in two days.

    That’s not good.

Numbers in Dublin going to be very high in 3 to 4 weeks if nothing changes

Dublin's incidence rate is now approaching 100 per 100,000

There's not been over 50 "outbreaks in schools".

There has been over 50 kids of school going age that teated positive, massive difference

Only restriction being considered appears to be reducing numbers in houses, 6 from 2 instead of 6 from 3 appearently.

In proportional terms that’s like Dublin reporting 800 cases when you break it down by population

This is a thread by David Higgins. It lists the amount of cases needed by each county to qualify for Lockdown.

The screenshot shows the county table

lots of workers trickling back to offices in Dublin from tomorrow. Hardly going to help matters.

Not trying to dice it as you put it.

Simply responding to say community transmission of a percentage of cases is in line.

Numbers aren't good no and still postive cases yes not sure what point your trying to make ?

    Not allowed to mention that

At what point do we decide we need to act and impose restrictions
Like, i dont think we should open the pubs, but i think its fairly bad to pretend to publications that they are going to open next week, only to be disappointed again

It doesn't mean there active cases and we've no idea what percentage are any way sick. It's a pointless number and provides no meaningful data.

We are well on our way to the "Living with the virus" scenario. It will be interesting to see how it pans out. Pubs next Monday after some more work places tomorrow.

Why shouldn't pubs be allowed to open outside of Dublin for example??

They'll be reopening in areas that aren't under local restrictions.

They're classified as controlled environments with measures in place, current establishments open haven't from what NPHET say contributed to spread hence can reopen.

As expected in this "Living with covid" plan the country bar potentially Dublin is to get level 2 status. In this level they can open. The whole point is to live with this now as best as possible

But you need to tell places that now. Not wait till the night before
